Anyone have info on the 6/12 O8 Full Kill game, when it usually runs and if it's any good (i.e. full ring, 5+ players seeing a flop, etc)?

From what I remember, 6/12 rarely happens. Sometime last year they tried to get it off the ground by offering double promo and comp dollars to those who played it, but it never really caught on.

I've only played three times so far. this past Friday they were trying to get it going but a bunch of guys wouldn't leave their 3/6 game to get it started so it didn't go.

Still, I'm glad they have a full kill on the 3/6. I may see if I can get an interest list going for an O.E. game at some point

anyone want to play a 8 game mix?

will play like 10-20 to 20-40 limit games limit games and 1-2-5 PLO and 1-3 NLHE? (or whatever the comparable spread is)

I'm just getting settled in the area but at some point I'd be down for 10/20+ mixed games.

I heard they don't spread Razz or draw games though (2-7 Triple Draw or Badugi)?

For those familiar with the 3/6 O8 game, what do you think of the possibility of trying to introduce a 4/8 O8 game with a half-kill? Seems like the 6/12 doesn't get going often, maybe slowly upping the stakes might succeed in getting us to have more regular games at a higher limit?

Haven't played the O8 at the THR lately, but it's generally OMC's, right? Might be an uphill climb - can you raise the stakes right at the table? Or does it have to start as $4/8?

Not sure, brand new to the area. I would assume we'd need to start the interest list for the day at 4/8

The next time I play I'll talk with some of the regs who were trying to get the 6/12 running and see if I can convince them to work with me to slowly get the game moving in an upward betting direction over time (4/8, 5/10, etc)

Looking to get ahead of the morning O8 crew on Saturday and start the interest list at 4/8 with a HK rather than their 3/6 with a FK.

Any advice on what time is good to get there before they start the 3/6 interest list?

I'm guessing sometime between 8am-10am?

Because I'm a trendsetter son, and I will get that 4/8 list going! Plus, from what I've seen and read the 6/12 rarely gets started. I figured this is a way to get the O8 crowd slowly adjusted to some higher stakes, the 4/8 not being a huge jump from the 3/6 plus it lends itself well to the $2 chips that are used.

I've played at THR 6 days a week for the past 5 years, mostly 2/5 NL but also plenty of the 3/6 and 6/12 (and the 10/20 back when it ran for spell). I am here to tell you 4/8 will not happen. We've tried it repeatedly over the years, to no avail. In fact, the most recent time it was tried, we were told that Tom decided not to even offer that limit. He wanted the 6/12 to be the next limit up because 4/8 is too close to 3/6 to bother offering (which I understand). Even if they do offer it, and even if it gets going, you will simply have all the people who want 3/6 sit in the 4/8, then leave when their 3/6 seat opens, and the 4/8 game dies. This I know because the few times we did get it going, this was the result EVERY single time.

I'm not trying to pee on your Corn Flakes here; just want to save you all the frustration that I've endured trying to kill that damn 3/6 over the years. 4/8 should be the lowest level O8 offered (like it is almost everywhere else) but when the player pool is old, cheap, and stubborn, well, I've learned we're drawing dead for that extra $2.

Stick with reviving the 6/12. It generally will never get off during the day, but it's been pretty popular and consistent on weekends until just recently. The players are still around, they just need to be herded. Good luck and thanks for your efforts!

Sorry, Max. I posted that, then went back and read what came before, realized it was a dumb question and then deleted it. My bad. But you got to it before I made it go away.

We got a 6/12 OE game going at the Isle in Pompano about a year ago that got legs and is still going daily. We tried for years to get something going above the 4/8 1/2K Omaha/8 without success. But the 6/12 got legs because the poker room manager got behind it and offered a drastically reduced rake (5% to $4 max with no jackpot drop). That's probably what will need to happen there. Talk to the boss, see if he'll do something with the 6/12 or even 8/16 or 10/20 if he prefers.

6/12 FK O8 ran last night and it was good. Going to head up tonight to try to keep the momentum going

What time did it start and end? Did it go Saturday?

I am in South Florida, but my parents live in St. Pete area. I would have extra incentive to drive up and visit the parents on a weekend if I was pretty certain this game were going.

Friday I'm not sure what time the game started, I got there late and was stuck waiting for quite awhile to get in. It broke at 1:20am

Saturday I was there for the full session of the 6/12 game. They had THREE 3/6 O8 tables running and 9 people on the 6/12 interest list by 6pm. The 6/12 ran from 6:30pm - 1am

After midnight we were 7-8 handed but around 1am a guy decided to leave, then another guy decided to leave and then everyone decided to leave. It breaks pretty quick when that happens.

Anyone else planning to play the Little Slick series? Just saw they put out the April schedule and was looking to play the last Day I of the series (probably the morning one)
