I played here yesterday on my way out of town and loved the new room. Is it staying in the new location permanently?

No. They are building an entirely new building. New hotel, casino space, shops and brand new poker room. The entire building is going to be shaped like a giant guitar. Its already started.

Heading down to SoFla for a week later this month. Bravo says for this month every Saturday is a 1000 per 30 minute HH promo from 12:30-12.
It also says there's a bonus HH 4:30-12 on Saturday the 26th... but it's also 1000 per 30 minutes? Is it double?

Hoping there will be some 5/T running...

Can I deposit money in the Hard Rock? Asked there yesterday and they said I can make an account which takes 30min (was late at night so I didn't). But this should be different from the boxes they have.

I was given a 4 night comp for the Hollywood Hard Rock in exchange for a comp I had at the Tampa location. I'm going to add an additional 3 days to it starting tomorrow and make it basically a vacation.

I haven't been down to this room since 2014 and can't remember if there are things to do around the Casino as far as leisure activities. Can anyone recommend some family friendly activities to take in while visiting? I'll have access to uber but I won't be renting a vehicle.

Thanks in advance!

Hmm...the only thing I remember about the beach and Boardwalk area is, that I've seen it once, and don't need to go back.
Having said that- the entire No. Miami/Hallandale area is busy and fun. You may need to leave Hollywood to see what you want. Gulfstream has the track and casino, but has a ton of shopping and dining choices to make it a decent family destination. There may be things going on at BBT Center, out in Sunrise. Thats only a 20+ minute drive. I use the SHRH as a base camp in winter, and go out to the Panthers games quite a bit.

Fun looking go-cart place:

Broward county Parks listings:
http://www.broward.org/Parks/Pages/Attractions.aspx

Downtown HJollywood operates a trolley service:
http://www.floridashollywood.org/trolley.aspx

and a decent museum:
http://artandculturecenter.org/

Ft Lauderdale itself is massive, and most google searches for it and activities will encompass all of the area of Broward County that you will be in.

Yep, thanks. Nice casino, nice poker room, plenty of action although I'm sure WSOP Circuit has some influence on that.

Man I don't know how you guys deal with this humidity. I'm in Plantation and after half a mile walk I'm body drenched. In Vegas I can walk Wynn to Aria in 100F and just have a forehead sweat.

The humidity is miserable and lasts about 4 months. The other 8 months the weather is amazing.

I was excited to make a trip down for the upcoming RRPO, and fire a bunch of bullets at Event #1, the $360 unlimited rebuy. I wasn't too discouraged by the fact the guarantee was half that of what it was last year. I was just about to book flight and hotel, then I took a second look at the structure. Wow, is it bad. Anyone interested in this tournament, compare the structure's of this year's event and lasts'. Sure last year's was an exceptionally good structure for $360 event, but this one is far worse.

Compare the later levels, and note that the blinds are doubled vs. last year. Also notice the fact the 1st day plays down to the money, meaning you're player longer at the shorter 30-min levels. Sure the levels are longer 2nd day this year vs. last, but by my estimation you will have to roughly 10x your starting stack to get to Day 2 with 20bbs.

How does this room compare to the Isle?

Looking for $2-5 PLO or deep stacked $2-5 NL.

It's definitely better run than the Isle and has more consistent action. The 2/5 NL game at HR is a $200-$1000 buy-in vs $200-$500 at the Isle. They also have a 2/2 PLO game with a $5 bring-in and a 5/5 PLO game that usually plays with a $10 rock.

There's one semi-big tournament every weekend Feb 21-March 18 held in their poker room and a series held in the ballroom April 5-18. Schedule is up for Feb on the website. Schedule isn't up for April yet but it's supposed to be a $3500 main event at the end and I'd guess $570 opening weekend.

Hi all,

I'll be moving to the FLL/Hollywood area this summer (May - July) to play poker full time at the Hard Rock. I'm looking for someone to stay with (I'll pay of course). If anyone has an extra room or knows of somebody who is looking for a roommate, let me know!

More about me: I'm a 20 year old college student. I play and study very seriously and have made 4 digits playing .25/50 on-line with a solid win rate. I have played live as much as I can and have a very solid win rate there as well. You have to be 21 to play poker in my state, which is why I'm heading to Florida over the summer I'm a very easy guy to live with -- I'm social, I cook, clean, and am easygoing. I'm properly rolled for 2/5 and can pay for rent up front .

Thanks!

Hi,
Im searching for nice low stake cash game in the area of Florida, what are the low stakes that thw casino offer and are there 6-max tables or just FR? never been in to a casino so don't know how it works
And also, how is the average level of the players in general? does an inexperienced live player like me can handle the tables or is it just too tough?
Thanks.

Hey Deuce,

Lowest a casino offers is 1/2. People are pretty bad, but you definitely want to get decent before you go to make a profit. I recommend reading at least one poker book (The Grinders Manual is great) and testing yourself online -- you should be able to beat .02/.05 microstakes online.

I'm playing online on higher stakes than 5NL but because live poker is different than online I thought that my inexperience will be crucial, but I guess i'll be good.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, I'm traveling to Hollywood FL to visit the Hard Rock on May 18-20th. I was looking at the website and I see the deep stack tournament listed. Although I'm interested, I dont think I would be able to play due to timing. My question to those who have played there before, do they offer any other tournaments besides what's listed on the tournament schedule? I was surprised to see only satellites to the deep stack event. I was hoping for some other tournaments going on that wont take 2 days to run. Also do they do any sit n go's or is it the listed scheduled tournaments and cash games ? Thanks.
