went last night. now i know why you guys were complaining about that construction. took me an hour to go 2 miles at 10PM! why the hell would they shut down a lane on a such a busy road instead of the just shifting the lanes over and using the shoulder?? i'm not going back till it's done. mt airy or AC for me.

Where is the construction now?

I haven't been to the Sands in awhile and was thinking of making the trip today, but not if I'm going to sit through one of those traffic nightmares again. I'd be coming from NJ on Rt 78.

Thanks.

Re: Sands Casino·Resort (Bethlehem, PA)

I am local, but got stuck in this the other day. If it hasn't changed its between the exit before sands (rt 33) and the sands exit (67). To avoid it you can take 33 north exit about 1 mile to freemansburg ave. Turn left onto freemansburg and continue on it for about 4.5 miles to Stefko Blvd. (It will turn into pembroke ave after about 3.5 miles). Turn left at stefko and continue for about a mile. You will go over the Minsi Trail Bridge and should see the casino below you. After the bridge you can go left or right onto 3rd st/daly ave. Going right and taking the back entrance is a little faster, but going left would take you to the entrance you'd be familiar with. Without any traffic this would take about 5 minutes longer than exit 67, but this would obviously beat sitting in the construction.

PS. If you do this and have gps running it may take you a slightly different route. This is the easiest (less turns).

on friday night was from just over the pa border until just before sands exit. if it's still the same, you'll have to sit in it even to get to the rt 33 exit.

If construction is going on from Pa border, you are better off going route 22 (exit 3 in jersey) to 378 into Bethlehem. It adds about 15 min to the trip but is worth the drive around unless you like sitting in traffic.

+1
Easy access to Rt. 22 at the Phillipsburg exit and then smooth sailing from there.

at 3/6 from a mathematical perspective you can beat it over short sessions I believe once you hit around 6.5 hours its almost impossible

They put a piece of tape over the BBJ slot so they could not accidentally drop a chip even if they tried. They always tape up the slot at same time as putting in placard before first hand is dealt. How nitty could the table be when 6 players take a flop on raised preflop hands over half the time? I would rather deal with the little nuisances at Sands vs. the soft playing regs. that you see constantly at PARX IMO. Played at Parx in the O/E game three times and always same villains betting you out of pots and then checking it down. You do not see that unethical/collusion play at Sands in their O8 game.
This post hits it right on the head. Yes there are 3 or 4 of us in the O8 game that know each other but not once will you ever be able to call us out on soft playing. We play our hands like we are playing stangers. simple as that. I have run down and been run down by people in that game that I would call my friends outside of the casino. Its the nature of the game. I would never want to play in a game where the regulars work together to squeeze you out of Pots. Just my opinion

I was the player that suggested the jump to 10/20 20/40 as I was stuck 480 in the game. I rebought for 500 and was the short stack in the game other players playing about 600 with one guy playing closer to 1500. as you said it's limit ans cash played also.

Didn't know cash plays at the Sands in some games. Is this new?

Re: Sands Casino·Resort (Bethlehem, PA)

Just wondering if there are any solid players who play at Sands regularly looking to set up some sort of coaching arrangement. I play $1/$2 and am looking to get better at my game. So far, I'm about breakeven. If you think you might be able to help drop me a PM. Thanks!

As I was walking to the bathroom some nice woman offered to sell me her bus voucher. Anyone know what the going rate is for black market comp dollars at Sands?

Glad to see a building interest for O8 at 10/20 level. We almost got a game last night with 8 people on list but floor screwed around for almost 2 hours once list topped 8 b/c they did not wanna break a 2/5 NL game which had 3 of the players at the table. Had me pretty upset being I only went there to play O8. When they did finally call it, several on list went home or were happy at the 2/5. The game would of definitely of went if they called the game like they should of when list topped 8 players. I was the guy at the table the 10/20 full kill night with the stack, I had just over 2K in front of me at one point. I was getting hit by the deck to say it lightly. I am gonna try to get the 10/20 going tonight for those interested come down. I am friends with most the regs in game, and there is no soft playing. It is really a good game and it is being spread more often there now which is good to see. And also yes, cash always plays at the O8 game as long as it is on table prior to hand start.
