How are the PLO games here? Do they let you run it twice?

I shoulda stayed.... my buddy CRUSHED 1/2 tonight, so jealous I didn't even tell him to squish his burger down

Definitely means he's headed back next week, I'm sure I'll join him.

Somewhat related, we have a mutual buddy who seemed to live there the past couple years. Apparently got crushed repeatedly and won't step foot inside. I'm sure I'll hear that story soon.

I haven't been to Emeril's Burger in a while but what I didn't like about it is the bread is so big that it overtakes the burger. I think the burger at Steelworks is better overall, but that's just my opinion. I prefer a softer smaller bun but they changed their menu recently so I haven't tried one since. My favorite item at Emeril's is the catfish sandwich.

Nice trip report good luck on your next trip back to the sands fish bowl!
Back for an overnight trip again. Headed up Thursday afternoon, and home Friday afternoon. Dealers seemed MUCH better. Must have been a bad run the last time.

Arrived and sat right away, love the high hand promo, mostly for the change in play for the rec guys. Spotted a couple of LAGs at the other end of the table. Made a few plays and collected a few chips. After my buddy arrived, I took a quick break and got a quick sandwich at the croissant place. Was nice, I'll be back. Back to the table, gave it all back. Turns out the 7 seat was just a donk splashing around occasionally, and the 8 seat was a grinder who must have just gotten good cards.

Back to Emeril's for the burger. The Steelworks was considered and postponed. I comment to the waiter at the end, that I sort of want them to bring me a bad burger one time, so I can try something else on the menu. Good for a chuckle, but you liked the catfish, and the hot chicken looks tasty too. Might have to double dip (lunch/dinner) next trip.

A nice cigar and burned through a Jackson while he went to check-in offsite.

About 10 minutes after sitting, I make a bad call with Q9 on the button, but flop a boat and call his flop and turn bets before making a min-raise ship on the river. He says he thinks I flopped the boat, but makes the call anyway. I slightly more than double up (multiple callers pre and on the flop). A few more hours of no significant action, table thins out, we take a final cigar break and call it a night.

$599 high hand today from 11-2, and again a few hours tonight. We get the just after it starts, the room is busy, but we get seated at a new table. The 1 seat looks like action, and sure enough is successfully aggressive the first orbit, but mostly from getting hit in the face with the deck. I'm down half a buy-in before I decide to play right. Turns out that does me no good, and I decide to spaz a couple hands. Late position raises with junk, firing multiple bullets, and I take down a couple pots to almost get back to even. I blow out at 2, beat some (but not all) the traffic back home.

Booked at the Borgata next week already (comped). Then, UGH, back to work the next week. Summer vacation is over.

I will say I'm much more likely to return to play at the Sands, but would really like cheaper rooms.

When up to Sands to play some PLO, the game was good. We got 3 table since they couldn't get a 5/5 going 1 Main and 2 must move. Action was insane 4 way all in preflop for a $1,600 pot. I play ok but run really good and won most of my hand that got to show down. The crowd was definitely better than most 1/2 - 5/10 NL table.

I wonder if he came in on one of the "asian buses" that pour in all the loitering lost wanderers who walk around all day with nothing to do. They're the reason they now have the worst hand dryers in the bathrooms, because they were steeling all the paper towels. The previous hand dryers were not that bad but now for some reason they installed dryers that are worse than one you would find in a gas station along Route 66 in 1970. What happened to the guy handing you a paper towel and a mint that they had when I first went to AC?
Too bad they don't follow Parx's decision to end the buses (after they stole and ate their swans, that was the last straw for them over there).

In other news, apparently another offer is going to be made to purchase the sands but I don't know what casino the new potential buyer is associated with, if any.

Sands Bethlehem sale looming? NYC investment firm wants to make offer

They're the same investment firm that was rumored to make an offer on the Revel, but I don't know what they plan on doing with the Sands if and when the offer goes through.

Went there for the first time saturday. I have never in my life seen a casino floor and food court so packed. By like noon or 1pm you couldn't walk. Busloads of people coming in. Took me forever to walk to the bathroom from the pokerroom.

Is there some sort of bus promotion? I saw that you get like a $45 slot voucher but the bus costs like $35? But I thought someone posted they got rid of the asian buses?

Anyway onto the wrong, my 1/2 table was insanely fishy. I lost like $600 in 2/5 and won it all back in 1/2. Good times. Players cold calling 150 pre with A/Q. Calling $100 all ins with bottom pair.... the usual.

New poker room under construction where the Carnegie Deli was. Depending on who you speak with, due to open in the March timeframe.

Number of tables are supposed to remain the same (27), though mgt will weigh space between, and as a result may drop one.

The question is on busy days when there's over 100+ people on lists where are they going to wait. I hope it's not gonna be all crammed up in there, but only time will tell.

Today I heard no one knows what the opening date is, no one is told anything.

Good point on the waiting area, besides the proximity (lack of) to food service. Maybe the delay is good, more time to figure out the logistics. Maybe not, we'll see.

was it neccessary to instantly post this exact same message in 3 different poker room threads within the past 5 minutes?

sure i too want the rake reduced at times, but u appear to be the type of guy who when one guy gets up to run to smoke 1-2 hands only to come right back, demands the dealer call the floor to reduce the rake, even when hes folded his cards and the very next hand will be right back to 7 people. me i wait til im either going to win the pot or the game will be 6 handed for some time not when someone is only missing 1-2 hands.

these same type of guys, when the dealer logs them out accidently for 1 minuite, scream for the floor to "back up their time". worrying about their 2 cents worth of comps.

they wear a sign saying "table nit, table nit. give me no action give me no action", and lose out on much more in loose action theyd get had they never asked for a rake reduction

There's currently 30 tables so if they are only going to have 27 they are already dropping 3 which will be a huge negative IMO but as it is they are already slow on opening new tables when the list is huge and constantly run day time promotions that start before they are properly staffed to handle the rush they will inevitably bring. However anything that gets the poker room away from the stadium blackjack on Friday/Saturday nights is fine by me, hopefully they at least join this century and have chargers in the table.

someone has to be logged into tbc's account.
he doesn't type like this you see.
and i saw him berate a borgata poker dealer for not telling him at the borgata you have to post to get a hand when he said to deal him in at the cutoff in a full game. he went on some tirade about "how am i supposed to know you have to post here do your job" etc etc.

There's currently 27 - they removed a few tables months ago to expand stadium BJ. I was told they will have chargers and 65 inch TV's.

I looked into the new room today and it's an empty shell, walls and ceilings were stripped down and it looks like they were working on the camera's and wiring in the ceiling. They also installed a door in the front, idk if it's just a construction door or a permanent entryway but they were putting wallpaper up on the outside wall around the door advertising poker. If there's a single door to enter that room it's gonna be a huge logistical nightmare, especially if they're squeezing 27 tables in that room with a single front door. I understand they wanted to cut off the noise from the band, but on busy days with over 100 people waiting on lists, there's no where for anyone to wait since it's right next to the biggest main casino entrance.

IMHO I think this new room will either make or break poker at the Sands. I really don't think it was well planned out. The Carnegie Deli announced they're shutting down, and within weeks they decided to throw the poker room in there. I hope I'm wrong but only time will tell.
