We do use Bravo. We just have been waiting for our upgrade. September 4th we should have all the upgrades in place. Soon!

Anyone played the 5-100 swing yet? I hear it's pretty juicy.

I will be up in a couple weeks. Any chance that you'll get bigger games going during the MPC? Looking for like 20/40 or higher.

T-dub,
September 4th has come and gone, I still don't see Running Aces on the Bravo Ap. Any word on when this will officially be up and running?

Thanks!

Hopefully very soon. They have updated the software at our place, now it is just working with Bravo to get it going... I'm not sure why it is taking this long. Will let you know as soon as it is up.

Anyone playing at Table 14 on Saturday night? I was and when a new Asian player came to the table around 9ish all hell broke loose! He had no concept of money at all. For the first 20 hands or so, he did not fold PF once and probably won 12 of those, but after that he started to spread all of it around the table.

One hand: Crazy Asian (CA) raises to around 14 PF with 1 caller. Flop: 5x8x10x. CA bets 26, Seat 1 pops it to 126, CA maxes back and Seat 1 shoves all-in and CA obviously calls. Seat 1 shows the KK and CA flips over......33? He just put $300 in with 33? Board ran dry, Seat 1 shipped a big pot and the rest of the table laughed hysterically.

CA reloaded for another 200 and continued to spread it around the table. So what had become a very boring table with 6-7 limpers seeing a flop, became its own comedy show, at least at our end of the table (I was in seat 3). Although he finally left after donating $500 to the entire table, it was fun while it lasted.

I ended up doubling up twice with JJ vs. AT AIPF, board ran dry, and KK vs. QQ AI on Flop. Ended the night walking away +280 and having a few good laughs as well.

Now I do realize that this happens a lot around there, but that was the first (and hopefully more) time it had happened to me

Looks like such a sick tournament. Four Day 1's and if you advance in more than one day 1, they will remove the smaller stack and give you $600!

I'll be up tomorrow...maybe. Any chance a bigger game gets going? Either spread or limit is fine. Been checking the Bravo app and it looks like nothing above 3/6 or 2/100 is spread, but wasn't sure if that changes on Fridays.

5-100 usually goes

I'll probably be at RA tonight, playing the 2-100

I was playing 2-100 Omaha last night if anyone was there. Dropped quite a bit when I missed wrap + flush draws against top pair/two pair 5 times

Also, who is the guy who had like $7,000 at the 5-100 table? Lol

The running aces tournament staff continues to do an amazing job running not only the best tournaments in the Midwest, but some of the best in the country for that matter.

I constantly tell the tournament grinders that I run across in my travels to go check out Minnesota poker. If the laws in the state are ever modified to allow for true no-limit cash games (or something closer i.e. 500 max bet like Arizona), then this area will experience a Florida-like boom. There are tons of great players and a lot of potential for success in one of the truly "nice" parts of the country.

Keep it up Running Aces.

*the only thing that I don't get is the 15% payout.

maybe someone can explain the logic behind this as opposed to the seemingly standard 10%

or maybe I'm way off base

Thanks guys! We appreciate all of the feedback, and most of all we appreciate you all! I just announced on our FB page that we will be having a $300 tournament every Sunday at Noon starting in November. This tournament will have the same structure as the MPC/Hallow-Scream and you will get 15k chips with 30 min blinds.

As far as the 15% goes...we were trying to please everyone. More spots paid helps with variance, but we didn't want to dilute the prizes at the top end. That is why the bottom 5% of the payouts are very minimal.

Played an interesting game at Running Aces this week: 2/4 Omaha High with a kill and mandatory straddle. The rake is brutal at this limit, but it was fun to plan something other than HE. The game appears to go every day.

It goes everyday because the bad beat jackpot is over 15k. 4/8 or 6/12 omaha-8 has also been running everyday.

Not much smaller than CP and easier qualifier to hit (quad 2's vs quad J's), as I type this I am on the board for 2-4, 4-8 H/L, and 2-100.

Anyone else think $2-$100 has been juicy lately? Unfortunatley they can never get more then 3-5 tables going:/ MN sucks for finding games.

Played 2-100 last night (Friday) and plenty of games to choose from. 7 Games of 2-100 going most of the night, keep moving around until you find a good game and profit. There are definitely a lot of Omaha games right now as I think the jackpot for that is big and the regular omaha nits are out in force, 2 4/8 limit games and a 2-100 spread omaha high going as well last night.

Yup, I just checked Bravo, and RA has 2 omaha games in play and
14 people on assorted Omaha waiting lists, while CP has zero games and an interest list of 3.

I think all Omaha variants will be going strong until the jackpot is hit, then it will go back to maybe a 4/8 O8 going on only some nights and maybe a 2/100 spread Omaha high once in a while.
