It gets going sporatically but man get a couple loose seats in the game and it is super juicy. Also I don't really know why but I feel like the 2-60 games are getting juicier like people just play dumb. Here is a sample hand.

Everyone has around $200 in front plus or minus $50 except me and one other guy who are deepstacked. Late position guy who is Loose aggro raises to $8 on the button after 5 limpers SB calls I call as do all the other limpers. So $58 preflop. I have 97. Board flops out 568. SB makes it 14 I raise to 60 everyone else folds to the SB who makes it 120. Now in my head I think well chop it up but already at max rake so why not push 1 more bet. I make it 180 then he starts thinking....takes forever talking about how now he knows i have it and does he wanna catch up. This peaks my interest so i start guessing...set? no 78? no. bottom 2? no. He eventually shoves 1 more bet in. for 240 all in. I call. Can anyone guess what he has?
Spoiler:
Q8...other words top pair and backdoor flush draw. Turn is 3 River is K..............thanks????? I guess

Have you noticed a time that it is more likely than others? I would really like to play in that game. Weekends? Late or early?

I played 1-2 PLO in Vegas last summer and was somewhat scared that I was going to get destroyed but the players were extremely bad. Is it the same story here or are there some good players?

I was in that game! Table 17? I was in seat 1 arriving with fried eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast, a bottle of orange juice, and noise canceling headphones.

I was sharing a dining table near the all-in grill with someone from the racing commission before I was called into the game.

Getting there this weekend looks as if it will be a bit of a PITA because of the closure of Hiawatha between 26th and 28th streets. Getting to work is already getting to be one because of that (I normally take the train from 46th).

The 2-60 Omaha game ran on Friday night, starting on 2/24 at about 10pm. It was a pretty active game that featured two off-duty dealers among the players, one of whom bought in for the material necessary to build a huge yellow pyramid-shaped tower at seat 7. It didn't frighten me at all.

Continuing from my post from several hours ago, also last night there were interest lists for the 4-8 high-low Omaha game and a 2-60 H-O game; neither went, the former likely because of the fact that the Bravo app was reporting two 6-12 high-low games at Canterbury, presumably a must-move and a main game (the BBJ there was $19k).

As for me, I ended up winning a bit more than a rack last night in the 2-60 Omaha game, with the first big hand being one where I flopped aces up with a nut-flush draw, opened the betting and was raised $60, which I called, then I got my flush on the turn ($60 became a value bet! ) and a brick on the river, with the only other player in the hand ending up all in. Later, I had JJT9, flop comes JQQ, I bet $18, get called, turn Q, I make the $60 max-bet, brick on the river, I again make the $60 max-bet, and my opponent (AAxx?) folds. I show the jacks and he storms off for a hand, apparently angry at himself for folding.

I remember you. You were in seat 1 and yeah bad play on his part because he didn't follow through with his hand. But yeah that game broke shortly after you left. But eventually I switched my HE table to a HO game that was pretty solid. Oh and for everyone wondering Friday and Saturday Night are the best two or these games. Usually in the games you get 3 or 4 people who know what they are doing. a couple alright players.(not real good but tight enough to not spew) and a couple who have no idea and just want to learn the game or get in the action because the game requires more gamble than any other in that room. Hands down. But by far the best person to have in the game is a solid HE player who has no real business in the game. They play well in HE but either play too loose preflop and then compound the mistake when they hit a piece of the board. I've seen this a good many times where they just pay off with second best hands which are clearly second best. Juicy games. Now if we could get No Limit in the state so we can play plo. Holy SH%& would that be fun.

Yes I happen to like seats 1 and 9. It would be nice if the legislature would remove the bet cap, since I would like to play PLO myself - should be fun. I know at least one racino bill kills both the bet cap and the table limitation.

2-60 Omaha game went last night. Not super juicy but definitely a couple soft seats. So glad this game is going more often. And the game went for a solid 5+ hours. So I look forward to going back Saturday and get it going again.

I havn't been up to aces in about a year now but I was thinking of going this weekend. I remember the room as a pretty relaxed and friendly place which is what I am looking for. Is this still the case? and are there any times to maybe avoid (i.e. Dead, Overly Bitchy Regulars, Bad tables, etc.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe the buy-in is uncapped, but you may want to give them a call for a definitive answer - 651-925-4600.

Mixed game buy-in is uncapped.

As for tonight's 2-60 H-O --> 2-60 Omaha game (3/3) my mind was starting to feel the effects after about two hours of play at RA after playing 4 hrs in a low-stakes private game in the south suburbs. We got our game for a couple hours at least, but I think that even if I stayed it ultimately would not have lasted much longer. (The dealer on whose watch the game broke got an extra redbird.)

As for the setup we were playing at the end of the night, my advice to RA management is to get more of the better quality cards.

Interesting it's a no max buyin on mixed...if I like omaha I'd give it a shot.

As for the cards, I agree...the camel cards are so much nicer. I hope they switch over.

Yeah Idk they should get it as it's probably the easiest thing to get exposure to the games.you gave going..but diamond jos has it but they never populate it any games. Also only about half.of.the.rooms use it in Vegas. Which if you thought you wanted people to visit you it is perfect......

Anyone ever enter the sunday morning tournaments? Its for like $45? I read recently they dont pay out cash anymore just give out points.

^ you read wrong. Evey tournament pays cash. The points are also rewarded on top of the cash prizes. At the end of each week they give out tournament dollars to players that earned the most points for the week. No money from the prize pools is withheld for this promotion.

RA really has done a good job on their tournaments in my opinion even the small buy-ins have improved a lot.

The $500 and $1100 tournaments are the best in the state.

On another note...

I don't understand why literally no one is willing to start a ring game short handed? Last time I was there I was on the list for 2-60 and 5-60. It was noon, and the 2-60 had 7 names on it. I asked what table they are going to start a new game on and the guy told me they wont start it short handed. I honestly thought he was joking. Since when is 7 handed short handed?

So the game finally started and at about 4 pm the 5-60 list started to grow. I told the board I am willing to start the 5-60 heads up just to get it going and he pretty much laughed at me. Once there was 6 people on the list they went thru it and asked everyone if they wanted to play 6 handed. Of course everyone said no, so I racked up and left.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but come on guys! You came to play poker, correct? People rather not play than play a 6 handed game, it just amazed me

I also asked to start an interest list for 8/16, 15/30, 20/40, and 30/60. They said there is a 0% chance that those games will go. Maybe 8/16 but highly doubtful. I told them then they should probably take those games off the huge $5/hr banners hanging everywhere because they are misleading. What the heck happened to all the action?
