Was he the caller? If so, what is the difference? Also, if someone called me and said he had J high I wouldn't believe him anyway.

It's not a huge deal but part of a pattern of angle shooting scumbaggery.

After I called him out for cheating he said that I never win because of karma. I was stuck a buy in at the time but he left a $450 loser and I left a $450 winner.

No idea, I don't go there very often and haven't played a turny there yet. There are a few other (bigger) series going around in PA during that time so I don't think it will be anything out of the ordinary.

Seems like they have been promoting the series a bunch more than last year. Last year the weeknight ones weren't much bigger than the usual nightly tournaments iirc

The guaranteed tourneys might attract but the smaller $100 buy-ins have the same structure as the regular dailies (i.e 20 min blinds)

So, since tomorrow's noon tourney is the $550, does the 9AM satellite remain at $30? Or is it double because of the higher buy in?

the 100 dollar buy ins for this you get 15000 chips no add on as opposed to 10k with dealer add on.

i assume the structure is the same.

i think the 200 buy ins are the same with 30 minute levels

the 500 is double stack 40 min the 1100 double stack 60 min

theres a few discrepenacies between their paper schedule and their main tournament website.

I'm interested in Event 3 on Friday at noon. $240 with a $15K guarantee. Does anybody see 75 people playing in this, or is the River's gonna have to cough up some cash to meet the guarantee? Don't the noon weekday tournaments usually get 35-45 entries? Do they really plan on doubling that number, with a buyin 4 times the norm for weekday tournies? I plan on taking a 1/2 day to play in this, hoping that the regular turnout happens.

Nothing to really base this on but I bet it gets over 100.

I think this may be just for the series. I played a 200 a few weeks ago and they had a add on at the begining

The Pittsburgh Poker Open kicked off Thursday. Events 1 and 2 were both $125 buy ins. A few things to note; there is no dealer add on for any of the events in the PPO. Secondly, all events are re-entry. I think that starting tomorrow, re-entry will be for the first two rounds. However, event 2 tonight allowed rebuys through Level 7 (yes, you read that correctly). From what I heard, they did that due to the Pirates game ending late afternoon, and there was an accident near the casino. Both of these made for nasty traffic. The evening events start at 7PM, not 7:15 like their normal evening tournaments. I arrived at 7:02, and the tournament was underway. I was entry 66. After the 7th level, the final entries totalled 161. First place was $4166, and they paid 15 places. I believe that event 1 allowed rebuys through 3 levels, and they had 103 entrants.
Tomorrow afternoon's tournament is a $240 buy in, with a $15K guarantee. I'm taking a half day's vacation to play. Curious to see how many runners they get.

Lol, I was number like 63...so we must of been standing near each other in line

The whole power outage thing last night put a bit of a damper on it, but these fields were super super soft. As long as they keep pulling in nice size fields for the 100-500$ buy ins, I'll keep playing.

Anyone know if the 550 is going to have rebuys too? Is it still 2 lvls of late registration?

It looks like the noon tournaments have 3 levels of rebuys and the late ones have 7. Im a fan of this not sure how everyone else feels.

Does anybody know how many runners the $550 got yesterday? What was first place paying?
As an aside, I went to Mountaineer last night. A friend of mine lives in Monaca and his wife let him go play. We didn't want to deal with Steeler traffic, so we headed to Chester. 10:30 on a Satuday night, the poker room has 3 tables going, 2 of 1/2 NL, 1 of 2-4 Limit, and it's Saturday night 7:30 tournament didn't start until after 8PM because at 7:30 they only had 6 runners. They ended up with 18. What a ####hole that place is. The overall vibe of the entire casino is so depressing and drab. Everything is outdated and tired. A real POS that I won't be returning to. Ever.

Pretty sick turnout yesterday. After all the reentry wound up with 133 players. First place was around 16k. Paid 15 players
