Get this man half a cookie. 20 to the room, a bit steep, and 5 for the dealers to split up based on how many downs there are.

I would love to play in a limit game with higher stakes than 4/8 (from 5/10 - 10/20). I don't see much hope. There aren't many limit holdem players at any stakes, and sometimes the 4/8 game isn't even running. Maybe the best chance is to have the room help promote it on an off day/night, like encouraging people interested in 8/16 to show up on Monday's at 6 (or whatever stakes/day/time).

well the schedule is pretty misleading by saying 150+20+5.

tg, while it may seem im pointing out the obvious, im sure someone is gonna complain tonight about only 100 per player being in the prize pool for this event. i do think that rivers could have been clearer about this. i have no problem giving a small donation to charity but i think the schedule should clearly state this.

PokerforJoker---there is no reason for the Rivers to worry about anything as far as tournaments go. People have been showing that they enjoy whats going on by the numbers of entrants they have been receiving. When players use their feet, and go elsewhere then things will change.

Did anyone play in the Pirates Charities event last night? How many runners did it get? What former Buccos showed up? I like that the Rivers is partnering with the teams in this town. I think the Mario Lemieux Foundation event in September is going to be huge. I can see these events as kind of a test run for the room to see if they can possibly handle an HPT, or WPT event in the future.

Well, you don't have to yell but you should go up to the front of the poker room and say to the person working there "I'd like to start a list for 6/12 and 10/20." If you're just asking the players at the table and talking to the dealer it probably won't do anything.

Hope I get a good table instead of one with "L." (God, I hate that guy). He has a black card but he musta stole it cuz he won't put a dollar in the pot without the nuts.

Once when the jackpot was over 100k he folded the river for 10 bucks on a jjt99 board with the jt9 of clubs. So I wagged my finger at him and said "if I ever find out that you folded poket nines there, I'm going to be very upset!"
You guys were playing some three card variant? I've never seen that spread at the rivers. What was it exactly? (stakes, game, etc) Does it qualify for the BBJ?

I was at the the counter, waiting for a seat in the 4/8 game, i said "i'd play 6/12 or 10/20 limit" and they just said, "yeah, we don't spread that often" and that was all. So yes, i would have to say "OPEN A LIST FOR THE 6/12 or 10/20 game" whatever this is stupid i'm done talking about it. i made it clear i'd play a slightly higher limit game and they didn't get the message. but such is life, everyone is jonesing for the no limit game in most places, i get that.

thanks for the advice tho that talking at a table doesn't get anything. much appreciated.

Anyone planning on playing in the Mario Lemieux Foundation event? Any idea what the structure will be? I won't be able to make any of the satellites, so I would have to buy in for the full $500. For that price I would expect something like 40 minute blinds.

played in the step 1 tourney tonight. It was a good time and I made it to step 2. I was a little disappointed that there were only 37 runners.

You might EXPECT it, but I seriously doubt you will get 40 minute blinds at a Charity Event. It will probably be more like 20 with a turbo structure.

38 people tonight. I was the bubble bitch.
My defining hand:
blinds 100/200
I am MID1, I raise to 500 with AQ
Button raises to 1000, I call
flop is AAK (two spaids)
I bet 1500, he calls
Turn is X (spaid)
I bet 1500, he calls
River is X (spaid)
we both check, he shows TT (spaid)

UGGGG WTF

Finally got down to the poker room at rivers after moving here last year. Played a few hours of 300NL and then bubbled the 7pm tourney. Walked out ahead, didn't think that was too bad given my basically zero live experience. might have to be a regular there since the casino is essentially on my way home from work.

Are they running SNG's into the 2k event on Saturday?

It looked like they had one planned for 10am on Saturday, but does anyone know if they are planning opening up SNG satellites this week? I know they have the Steps tournaments, but I'm driving an hour to get there and don't really want to have to show up Thursday night and Friday night if I can avoid it. I'd rather just run one or two SNG sats on Friday.

i think just satuday morning, who knows if that will even get any kind of a turnout. sometimes they try and run single tables when they had the 1k events but they didnt get much run, you be might able to get a sit n go on friday night.

Yes, I have never seen any lower. They do at times get two 4/8 games going.
