There was an earlier claim ITT that all Mid-Western, Eastern poker rooms are pretty much the same.

Pocono Downs, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. will have $4 rake and no BBJ. Big different IMHO.

99killed, no problem if you paste anything from my blog. If I hear any "official" information, I will be sure to post it. My insider at the Rivers casino is a craps dealer, so this is little help as they are trained and given seperate information from the poker room dealers. I considered calling the Rivers to determine what their poker room policies are going to be, but being the rollout is still a few weeks away, I'm thinking they still will not be sure themselves. As far as the Meadows goes, I have never found the poker room manager they hired to be of any assitance when I had questions about Wheeling Island, so I am just going to pass on that.

Ok so I was in Rivers today after the Pirate game and I got some pictures...

This is where the poker room is supposed to be (apparently) and they are building all of the tables (blackjack, roulette, craps) in here, just using it as a temporary holding area for the other tables. This area is where it says 'High Limit Slots'. If anyone knows any truth to this, correct me if I'm wrong.

The pic in this thread shows more of a dedicated poker room. It confirms my previous understanding of what was planned. I do not think it is going to be in the middle of everything where the high limit slots area is currently located.

Do you know where that pic is located? I think the pictures I took, would be a better spot imo.

Put your pictures on the map at the following link, which is the location approved by the Gaming Control Board. Where it was approved is where it will be.

I attended the hearing on 4/26 (my office is a block away from the Courthouse), and the map for the 5/25 additional presentation did not change. The poker room is the area on the bottom left, page 19 of 32 on the color pdf (marked "I")and page 20 of 33 of the black and white pdf.

Presque did not ask for poker.

It's ok, I am geeky too, read literally every page of the regs. Would have went to the hearing, but had class thatday. I feel like a kid at Christmas again.

Speaking of kids at Christmas, does anyone have any idea how one gets invited to the July 6th "cold open"? Would be nice to see it in action, especially since I suspect i will know many of the dealers...

Good question, I'd like to be there as well.

Also, for those who are going to be playing poker and table games, make sure you get your players card before July 8th. Its going to be a mad house there that day. When I was there on saturday after the Pirate game the lines were nutso for a players card and there wasn't **** going on. best advice is to go there during the week or during the day on a weekend so you dont have to deal with that on July 8th. Also, anyone know what the poker room will offer in respect to players cards and how many hours you log?

Getting the palyers card early is a good idea... I didn't even think of that! Know idea about the invite... I don't think it would be worth it though. It's only for 8 hrs total. i do plan on getting down there some time on the 8th/9th after I get off of work in the late evening.

Suuuperr pumped to not have that 45 min drive to Wheeling/Mountaineer tho.

No rush for the player's card. Remember at Wheeling, we all got them and dutifully swiped them for a year and a half, with the poker room folks telling us that eventually we would get credit when the rate was announced.

LOL. You all know what happened: zippo.

On a positive note, it will feel very good not going to Wheeling!

LOL try 1:15-1:30 from Monroeville. And not having to drive through Weirton/Chester and those god-awful roads.

I snapped this picture around 8pm today. Dealers were in the back training. The room looks sweet. Seating is 10 per table. I asked a worker to put me on the waiting list.

Looks spacious and comfortable - nice muted color tones, good separation of tables, chairs look to be high quality. TVs perhaps a bit small?

Can't wait!
