This forum has been more accurate than the calls I've made to the casino

Put the room to bed around 2:15 am. Many thanks to those that were here for the last hand and many thanks to those that wanted to be here but couldnt. The final irony is that in Casino Player magazine, Revel Poker Room was voted third best room for live poker in Atlantic City! Gonna frame that! Not gonna say goodbye..Ill see you down the road. Again many thanks and stay in touch.........Frankie

Exactly... the person I spoke to on the phone about my reservation kept repeating that there was no poker room (even though it was still open at the time) and she had no idea what a "comped poker room" was at all. Very frustrating

I really like the poker room and am sad to see it go, and I do wish the best for all of the employees. But in my opinion, it is wrong to not be allowing people to make comp room reservations for hours they accrued prior to announcement of the poker room closing.

the problem was the "constructive notice" did not meet the time requirements a reasonable poker player who wakes up after noon would expect. Other AC casinos will benefit from the hundred and one hoops Revel is putting you through to book a room. (See, http://business.time.com/2013/08/14/...with-gamblers/, Atlantic City Casino Promotion Bashed By Watchdogs Is a Big Hit with Gamblers, Brad Tuttle, Aug. 14.) Besides the obvious notice requirements one would expect, like a letter in the mail, letting you know you have 6 weeks left to book your room, Frankie tried hard to let us know given the little time and the few resources made available to him. Even if it leaves a sour taste on out tongues. (see, Bamboozled: Revel Casino's pitch to refund slot losses craps out in the fine print, critics say, http://www.nj.com/business/index.ssf...nos_pitch.html.) The good news is we can learn from our mistakes. Last year, a lot of poker players said 'hasta la vista' to Revel when their comped hotel room reservations were canceled without notice so the hotel could make more revenue for the air show. This year, after labor day, comps for hotel rooms all over AC will be easier to get, and I have never had any other casino in AC make me run through hoops to book a free room for poker I had earned or that tried to cancel a free room I had booked.

did you personally get screwed by this (were you promised a room that could be booked in the future)?

the promo for free rooms was always you had to book your room at the end of your 8/10 hours... play your session, give your card to a floor who then validates you played the hours and immediately books your room.

booking rooms afterwards, if done at all, was a favor. so far i don't know of anyone who had their previously booked room cancelled after the room closing was announced and all promos were cut off. this includes me... i used my last free room last week with no issues.

Great news Frankie ! Hope to see you soon.

even though we may not all agree whether refusing to book the rooms were bait-n-switch tactics (see, Revel casino's bait-and-switch 'refund': Editorial http://blog.nj.com/njv_editorial_pag...nd_switch.html ) or a 'read the fine print' scam (see Bamboozled: Revel Casino's pitch to refund slot losses craps out in the fine print, “...The Revel casino does have these details on their web site in the smallest fine print I have ever seen...” http://www.nj.com/business/index.ssf...nos_pitch.html,) I think it is easy enough to suggest an easy way to resolve the matter. Simply send those who logged in enough hours to satisfy the requirements a postcard with room offers they can use after Labor Day! A phone call from a host apologizing and assisting them to book the rooms would be a nice gesture!

Yes. Put in the hours in early July for a Saturday room. Was told every Saturday was booked for July and August, and that I should call back in the future to book further out than that.

Thank you but it is not a promotion. It is actually a lesser position but the whole purpose is to stay close and hopefully get things going again somewhere down the road!

Guys, I will check to see if anything can be done about this. I do know that any and all existing reservations were honored. The gray area appears to be with guests who earned rooms but never booked a future date or were unable to book a future date. For players wanting to book further down the line we had asked they book anyday just to have it on record and then we would move it. If I can find any further info on this situation, I will let you know!

Frankie, after 8-10+ hours on Friday or Saturday, floor managers were busy with tournament/games and reservations hold times were longer on Friday/Saturday nights. It was better for the floor and reservations, if we made the reservations on less busy times such as mornings midweek.

Nonetheless, if we can book nights for hours earned prior to the room closing announcement, that would be great. Thanks

According to CardPlayer:

"Press of Atlantic City reported that Wynn Interactive LLC is one of the 37 firms that the state said applied by an early deadline to be involved with the industry. Wynn has ties to Atlantic City but is currently not a casino owner there. As a result, he would need to partner with an existing brick-and-mortar casino license in New Jersey in order to be able to offer games - or build. Only Revel Casino-Hotel and the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel are without partners. The city has 12 properties."

I'm guessing Revel is much more likely than Atlantic Club. IMO, the fat lady is not singing yet for Revel Poker.

I'd like to thank Frankie for all of the help and work he put in here. You did a great job!

If any credible news surfaces that Revel will re-open the poker room, please PM a mod and we'll decide whether to re-open this thread or create a new Hype thread. Online poker doesn't count, you'll have to go to another forum on this site for that.
