Revel Resort (Atlantic City, NJ) -- psuedo-FAQ added 2013.07.17 Revel Resort (Atlantic City, NJ) -- psuedo-FAQ added 2013.07.17

Well it looks like Atlantic City's newest casino and poker room is (un)officially open for business. Cards are in the air for a three day preview period before the Grand Opening on Monday April 2nd.

Let this thread contain all Revel Poker Room discussion and hopefully we'll get to watch this room grow into a quality poker spot up there with Borgata, Parx, Foxwoods etc.

They will be opening with 37 tables in a completely smoke-free resort on the boardwalk. Please let us know how the room is once you get out there to check it out!

*** Mod note ***

Because the comped rooms from poker question comes up frequently, I've decided to add this information here. A more formal FAQ can be placed here if one gets written up and approved.

Room comp qualifications via poker play (thanks to dbdbdb for creating this chart):

I had a chance to visit the room today. Frank (Director of Poker) gave me a personal tour of the entire property. I have worked in many states and visited many casinos, this one has definitely blew me away. I wish the best to Frank and his team.

Does anyone know if the 2/5 has a 500 or larger max buy-in. They have my business if it's 1000+

Wanna be in on the first page of epic thread....the cards seem a little different there gemeco but just feel a little different and the old school clay chips are back in full effect...

I don't see a problem in the lighting......and I think players will really like the floor staff they are all extremely experienced!!

The idea the poker room is in a bad spot is totally false I think...it's very easy to get to from any point of the "revelry"...lots of big screed hd tvs that sit pretty low which is solid...

And as mentioned the 2/5 getting 2.50 is tremendous...

Can't wait to see this room grow into a poker hot spot I think everybody that goes there will say wow about a million times..,

Last suggestion when u get to revel valet ur car and take a trip to the hotel lobby by going up all the escalators and when u get to the top look down and u will get weak in the knees...

Good luck everybody and enjoy the Revel!!!!

Anyone have info on the max buy in at 2/5?

It sucks, I'm going to be in AC this weekend but just miss the opening of the Revel. Would love to be there when they officially open. Are they offering any special promotins for the first people through their doors?

What is the hourly comp rate for 1/2?
03-30-2012 , 08:35 AM
I went for a few hours yesterday and I must say I was VERY impressed with the place. I walked around the whole property and it's just miles ahead of everything on the boardwalk. Why is it that it took this long for a boardwalk property to use the beach to its advantage?

I stopped in the poker room and I saw a lot of familiar faces dealing and flooring. I was a little worried about the quality of dealers after hearing about the hiring methods but I doubt it will be a problem for the most part.

I love that the whole casino is non smoking, but if you are a smoker it's a pretty long walk for a cigarette from the poker room. Plus, while talking with a poker pit manager he was saying you will have to go beyond right outside the doors to smoke. We'll see how true this is and how it's enforced in due time.

One of the dealers told me that 1/2 comps will be $1.50 an hour. He also pointed out that comps are redeemable at one-to-one throughout the resort. The nice woman who signed me up for a card when I first hit the casino floor (with her hand-held device that scanned my driver's license), said that points are earned everywhere in the resort, not just gaming. Cool system they have. She gave me my Revel card on the spot -- no waiting.

It was interesting that there were dozens of dealers in the poker room, all sitting at their tables nicely dressed in white dress shirts and black vests. Even though they weren't close to opening a second table when I was there, they were all there well-coached to sit up straight, smile, say hello as you walked by (if you happened to make eye contact with them, not just a wave of hellos). This was true throughout the resort.

I understand some of the comments about hiring dealers and others primarily on personality, but the friendly and welcoming attitude from the entire resort staff was more evident than any casino I've been to. They weren't in-your-face annoying about it, though. I hope they run the poker room well. If could see it rivaling Borgata for my time.

AMC Theaters has a similar program. For every $100 you spend for anything you earn $10 that can be used for anything. Basically that might mean if I drop X amount of $$$ on a room/food/shopping etc that might equal the same comps as losing $$$ playing any casino banked gamed.

Sounds like all the hype is coming true. Can't wait to see the room for myself. Does anyone have "confirmed" information on comp structure/rates for 1/2 and 2/5? Also, any new card sign up bonus information would be appreciated?

From what I understand from the forum rules, only authorized poker room "reps" can answer specific questions like these. I would love to give you a response but I have already been warned.

Hopefully there are some players in here that have been in the room and would be able to respond??

Clay-type chips. Good for chip tricks but kinda boring design-wise.

Also available for sale on ebay, not sure who would actually be a buyer here though

Pronounced like "rebel" without a cause. (Not as in "rebel" against the dictatorship)
