A player I know had a similar stack at Poto last Summer, not sure if it was 1/3 or 2/5 ... and then promptly got ripped off by some girl supposedly. I didn't get the full details on how the cash was lost, but it sounds like a hotel safe was 'overcome' somewhere in there. He had texted me his stack during play but really didn't want to talk about it once he returned to our area.

He is single and travels around every 2-3 months to different parts of the country. GL

I know you post on here a fair amount but that story just lacks all credibility...

Do you think if he was drunk and robbed by a hooker he would have told you that or make up something about the safe being compromised?

You're exactly right ... The only reason I think there is 'a' story is that he's not telling me one at all. We talk quite a bit and he's never mentioned once that he lost a lot of that cash to an event outside of poker. But he also doesn't talk about the score either, which leads me to believe he wants to avoid talking about it.

As noted a stack like that doesn't come around very often .. Please take care when it (not if, when) comes around your way. GL

answer20,
Maybe if you tell your buddy that you're thinking about coming to Poto for the circuit event in February, you can ask him what safety precautions you should take with your money and get the truth out of him.

Most of them do. I believe you can check on their website but Poto has a shuttle that stops at like 9 hotels throughout the downtown Milwaukee area.

Gonna be playing in the area for the next week. I'm free virtually all week. Any recommendations on what times I should be looking to play on weekdays/weekends? Am also down to meet up with any regs haha.

My guess is it'll be busy round the clock. The lists will be long.

I bet most will shuttle you if you ask. Alternatively you can catch an uber for pretty cheap.

Games get super juicy Thursday/Friday/Saturday nights.

Otherwise there will always be 1/3 running around the clock.

Not sure I'll be playing much this week but if that changes and I make it down there I'll shoot you a PM.

Finally ended my losing streak tonight with a pretty entertaining session. Even though it was pretty dead for a Saturday, we had a pretty belligerent guy with us on table 17 that got stuck for at least 600.

Shoot me a PM if you think you were at my table. At one point a guy called some of us with hats "WSOP pros".

I'm not a reg by any means, although I would love to play more if my bankroll allowed for it. There were a couple at my table though that I definitely respect and would like to get to know more.

That must be a 'Tuesday' game ... Motor City has a 15/30 every Tuesday as well!! Plays deep and Seats 3, 7 and 8 usually end up with all the chips. I stay away from that game myself!! GL

Good luck. I've seen it played a few times and it gets pretty tense.

There was talk that a few of the younger regs at 5/10 PLO share a bankroll. Anyone know details? PM is fine, but if the game might not be 100% legit we should be able to post about it.

Wouldn't doubt it. There's always a group of 4 or 5 who just walk around together and just randomly buy into games, play for an hour and hop from table to table. I saw a couple of them at Silk Exotic (strip club) once.

There is a very famous 'poker house' that plays Maryland Live. They all get staked by 'the house' and thus have the same bankroll. Obviously a staking agreement doesn't mean there is collusion among members of the house if they are at the same table. But anytime you run into 'associates' whether it be friends, married couples or even soft playing regs you just need to try and pick up on it and play accordingly.

Not ready to throw in (or out) the word 'legit' just yet, but if you see something then let the floor know (if they care). A well place comment, "Are you 2 married or something?", will let the parties involved know that you 'see' that they play together and that is generally enough to slow down any issues IMO. But just playing from the same bankroll doesn't automatically mean the game is tilted. GL

Never heard that but I wouldn't be surprised. I know there are some regs up there who all share a tournament bank roll.

Im not sure on the table number but I think I was at your table. 1-3 table by the cage? You talking about the heavy set eastern European guy in the 7 seat? If so I was the 2 seat. I took his second by in around 12:15 then had to run.
After thinking about it I think I was on table 18.

Nah, I don't think so. I left around 11.30-11.45 but I don't remember any middle eastern guys.

It was the first table in the last row, right in front of the cage.

Do you play a lot on Sat nights?
