Last march I moved to Vegas from Milwaukee where I played semiregularly live at Potowatomi in the 2/5 game.

The casino was still under construction before I left and I never got to see the completed room.

I'm wondering if there are any poto regs that can give me an update on it.

I remember there was a plo game on the weekends.
Does that still run? Buyin/blinds? is it still 2/3 plo 1/3 nl/pl?

Does poto get a 5-10 now?

Bascially just wondering how the new room compares to the old room?

Thanks

New room is better. More room between tables.

PLO runs a couple days a week ($5-5 blinds)

Regularly 2-4 $3-5NL games running 7 days/week

I've heard $5-10NL will run as requested. Saw it on a Friday night.

Any poto regs that play the 2/5 care to comment on how the games are?

Also how big is the plo playing(buyin)?

poto have trnys yet?

The 2/5 NL game is pretty soft during the weekends at Potawatomi. It is slightly more difficult during the week when there are more of the decent regulars around... but you will definitely get a vibe of who to play with if really quickly.

One of the great things about the new room is that waiting time is drastically cut down. On Friday/Saturday evenings it is common to have 6 NL games running so the wait to get into one is usually never more than the 2 hour call in time.

As for the PLO game, it is a $500-$2000 buy-in game when it runs at 5-5. I most often see it on Friday night. Rarely there is a 25-25 game which is fun to watch.

Still no tournaments yet... the management there is friendly but their business model is wacky. I guess they don't think they will make as much money with tournaments. The room also doesn't have pagers anymore, and no good system to track players playing time.. they enter it in manually lol.

You can call the poker room 2 hours ahead by phone and your name remains of the list. After 2 hours it will be automatically removed. 1-414-847-7605 gets you directly to the poker room.

What stakes for limit games run on the weekends?

Every time I have been there the 3/5nl game is pretty good. Usually a few bad players mixed in to each table and everyone is pretty friendly.

Last time I went there on a Sat. night the 5/5 plo game was going with at least 25k on the table between 5-6 players.

Last Wednesday, they had 2/4 and 3/6 Hold'em going, and a 5/10 O8 game going. Everything else was NL, PLO.

On the weekend there are usually 2 4/8 games and 1 30/60 game going.
You can pretty much lock those in.

What kind of low limit game? Can find 3-5 NL and 2-4 or 3-6 limit easily. Everything runs on a Friday, including the 3-6 O8 limit game. Best advice is to call in 2 hours before arriving. It will be busy.

I think someone posted the number above, or you can just find it at their website www.paysbig.com

The ONLY option for No Limit is 3/5NL and this will be as low as it will ever go. They will never get a 1/2NL going for fear this will dry up all the low limit games. There might be a list for 5/10NL but have rarely seen this get going. They do have a 5/5 PLO that is extremely crazy.

20-40 Monday @ noon
30-60 Tu/Th @ noon
10-20 goes most Fridays. Starts when 4 or 5 people want to play short.

As far at Sat-Sun, limit games are usually dead. Sometimes the 10-20 will spillover or restart if a few regulars are there.
Otherwise if anyone is interested in playing 10-20+, and willing to start 2-3 handed, just come to the casino and say so. The floor is pretty good about starting games really short as long as it will go.
That being said it would be great to get a 20-40 on Saturday. It used to run every weekend and was an incredible game.

Here is a breakdown of Poto Games:

Everyday games:
2-4 LHE
3-6 LHE
4-8 LHE (sometimes spotty)
3-5 NLH ($200-$600 buy-in)

Feature Games:
Monday: 20-40 LHE (starts at noon, often dies at 8 PM...could use help to keep the game going late)
Tuesday: 30-60 LHE (starts at noon and is the strongest of the days)
Wednesday: 5-5 PLO (starts at 11 AM)
Thursday: 30-60 LHE (less popular than Tuesday, but usually does well)
Friday: 5-5 PLO (starts at 11 AM, usually runs through Saturday)
Friday: 10-20 LHE (not sure when it starts also often runs on Saturday)

If people want to start a 20-40 game on Saturdays planned for sometime when the PLO dies (maybe noon), I would be willing to help. There are some lucrative drawings on Saturdays for the next 2 months, so I plan to be at the casino all day.

Poto needs a regular 5 - 10 game. Life would feel so much better.

For those who play at poto, starting today you can now use your iPod at the table. In addition to this change, the new management has been very good about starting any requested game. Last night we got a 5-10 game that was 10 handed and in last couple weeks have been able to get both 10-20 PLO and 50-100 lhe off the ground.

Amen! Hate having to endure chicago traffic to get a decent 20-40 game.

I'll start a Saturday 20-40 Interest list. If you care to get one going, call in on Saturday and put yourself on the list. If there's 4 or 5 names on it, I'll consider making the drive north instead of south.

Ipods and musical devices are now allowed at the poker tables starting tomorrow, Thursday June 24th.

A special thank you shout out to Mr. Joe Bernardi, the Pot's poker room manager, for enduring all the players whining, i.e. me, to get ipods at the tables.

Me luv U long time, Mr. Joe.

Any new news of getting tournaments going in the room? Or is it still that stupid top 200 people with top hours played can get into a tournament every couple months?

Never say never - $1/$2 is in the house! No idea how new it is, I haven't been to the poker room in a good 5 months.

Also they lowered the buffet prices to $20.10 (with FKC) for Fri/Sat night which now makes it a decent value.
