I didn't play in it but I was out today for the $50 +1R tournament this afternoon.

There were about 16 players in from Quebec City and 18 from Montreal out of 330+ total runners on day 1 (across both cities). The feeling in the room was great, lots of people railing the tables (but not obnoxiously). The final table had - I think - 2 or 3 from Montreal and the balance from QC - but when it got to HU it was a Montrealer against a guy from QC. The Montreal guy won at about 7 or so, maybe 8. From what I could see it was a pretty big success.

Richard lost earlier than that I believe - quad 8s versus quad 9s on a board of 8899x - too bad it was a tourney table. Ouch.

Thanks Mike. I wanted to play in it but I had to work a double on Saturday and then I was out of town Sun/Mon/Tue.

Yeah, he had quads twice in the first level and didn't make it out of the first level. Ouch.

Playground was on fire tonight! (Not literally, of course lol). 2 tourneys tonight plus about 14 or 15 cash tables - a bunch of 1-2, 2-5 and I think one or two 5-5.

Of course lmcjaho was a witness to my braindead tourney-ending hand, holding TT against what was obviously a better pair preflop. If I had only been able to restrain myself on that one hand...

Yeah the bridge problems don't seem to have affected things too much. They report pretty regularly on what's going on there on their Facebook page.

BBJ is up to about $80K. Almost (uh, sort of) hit it last night when quads beat QQQJJ. Ace kicker played for the quad.

Tell me that you were one holding AQ at least? I will probably see you there tonight.

No, I wasn't in the hand. I should have written "It was almost hit" to not imply "I almost hit it"!

Got a quad bonus a bit later in the session though, which is nice.

Quad bonuses are always nice, but it's even nicer to get paid for the hand. I'd like to get a straight flush or royal flush bonus sometime soon - haven't had one yet. Folded one pre-flop (2-6 straight flush) at Snakes a while back. Made me sick to my stomach.

Hi everyone, I went to Playground Poker for the 1st yesterday and I was really pleased by the way I was treated. The staff was very friendly, and the dealers were really quick and professional. The food was great as well and the waitresses really cute . I managed to book a small win so overall I loved the experience and I'm planning on going back soon.

Playground > Snakes > Montreal Casino imho

Hey guys, i'm looking for a backer for Saturdays $500 deepstack. Would like to talk terms through PM or any other source. Since online poker shut down in America, I've transitioned to live cash and tournaments. 2 final tables already and feel great about my play. My online stats are below.

The best place for updates on stuff like this is Playground's Facebook page...

Today Martin Roy suggested that if someone emailed him directly he would try and find a seat... check it out there for details.

There are new payment structures for all tournaments - in the past the buy-in included 10% in rake (which actually went to the tournament points budget) and no dealer add-on.

Now there's expressed as the prize pool amount + rake and a dealer add-on is available for all tourneys at the table.

What used to be the $60 rebuy is now 60 + 10 + 5 (at the table). Rebuys are not raked, nor is the dealer add-on available on the rebuy.

Personally I'm not a fan of dealer add-ons, but I heard from a reliable source that tips from tournament cash winners were averaging between 1-2% which is (to me) obviously very low.

Tournament structures haven't changed despite there being more chips in the starting stacks, which is good.

By the way, the BBJ was won this past Monday - just under 100K by the time it was won. (I wasn't either in the hand, at the table, or even in the room though, boo).

A better spin the wheel which will run all weekend:
