You can always go here http://www.taeyeonkim.com/parx/ and select the game you want to see on the dropdown on the right. Then select a timeframe on the left (like 5 days). Slide the bar at the bottom to see when games tend to start and stop. Little slow this week with the weather and the Borgata WPO.
Slowest day is Monday by far, and ramps up slowly till Sat night, by Thursday you should see two games during prime time.
Thank you, appreciate it.

If I'm going to be getting involved in a big pot with anyone your damn right I'm going to know exactly how many chips my opponent has. The rule clearly states that you are allowed to ask how many chips anyone has at the table at any time. Its very easy to take the "angler" out of the equation. That was a mistake that could easily be avoided.

No kidding, the potholes are gigantic! They need to do something about them.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

I hadn't seen these mythical potholes until this weekend. I was on my way out and saw the pothole in front of me and was just awestruck and stunned for a minute -- probably the way most people feel when they first lay eyes upon the Grand Canyon.

After a few seconds of analysis, there was absolutely no way to drive around it, and I didn't think I'd make it over it. I turned around and went out the other way. I can't imagine how much of a mess that is when the parking lot is busy.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

ahhh the pot holes...

Got to PARX around 11am on Saturday and spotted a primo spot right up front across from the handicapped parking in front of the building. Upon further examination I discovered a huge land mine must have blown leaving a huge crater so I had to abort trying to park there.

Yeah be careful. It's pretty dangerous to drive/walk especially in the dark.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Well... you're not gonna like this, but...

Have you ever noticed that parts of the parking lot are always wet? Even after days of sunshine and no rain (or melting show piles).

This condition is almost always caused by one (or both) of two things:

1. there is an underground spring/stream that percolates up through the asphalt.
2. the drainage was designed poorly and/or is clogged and/or is non-existent.

Filling in the pot holes will not solve the problem. They will just return during the next freeze/thaw cycle. It's especially horrible in the main lot, just beyond the handicap lot - going back 10-15 rows and the entire width of the area.

I remember taking the kiddies there in the dead of summer, for the fair/carnival. It hadn't rained in weeks, yet - the lot was covered with wet spots and puddles.

If they take the usual PenDot approach to fixing the holes, consisting of throwing pitch into a water filled crater, that'll last about a day.

I'm taking the under that this problem will be fixed any time soon. The cost and effort to do it correctly will be prohibitive and timely.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

Have taken two trips down this past weekend. I live about an hour away and will be making at least one trip a week I think. Got into a bit of an argument with some 2/5 live reg at a 1/2 game last night. He asked if I wanted to chop and I said no, he then threw a tantrum and proceeded to raise $35 preflop. I folded, but just don't understand why live players take it so personally when people don't want to chop. Babies.

Re: PARX Poker Thread

I like how this poker room is open to suggestions so I have one that is non-poker related. Would it be possible to get hand sanitizers on the walls like the Borgata has? I'm not a germaphobe but I have to be honest, I see some people rub some weird **** on their hands then handle the cards. I can't how many times I see people eat and then touch the cards.(bad for them and us) I've seen plenty of people pick their nose while at the table then handle their cards. The worst I ever saw was a huge slob reach his hand down the front of his pants, lift his leg in mid-step and without a hitch, pull his underwear out of his ass from the front of him and then proceed to scratch his balls or whatever he has down there for a good 5 seconds. If thats not bad enough he then smelled the scent from whatever he scratched and promptly sat and looked at his hole cards.

I bring my own sanitizer so it's not the end of the world if it doesn't get done. I just wanted to add my two cents.

I always have chopped whenever anyone has asked and I have even asked myself. But, I don't really understand why people make such a big deal about chopping the blinds when someone says no though. Just fold and take the $1 loss... ouch.

I'm not certain but I think in raked games there is a drop if a flop is seen. I play mostly timed LHE games and actually enjoy playing the blinds because a good majority of profit comes from playing around the blinds and there isn't a drop if a flop is seen since time is taken out every half hour.

like most people who play at parx, i do so out of convenience. do i have issues with parx? absolutely, because i was hoping it would be as nice as The Borgata, but sadly it's not. as for the dealer who calls players by name, it's not "professionalism." it's fake and i found it annoying. if the dealers are trained to do it, then why don't all the other dealers do it? go figure.

Stopping at that first one after the Applebees tilts me so hard, I have never seen another car at that intersection coming left or right ever. Once you reach the "Parx loop" you get traffic, but that first one I will never understand.

We disagree here... and as for the "all the other" comment... why aren't ALL dealers exactly alike and perfectly execute their training?

Coming from the TPKE turn left at the light before the Parx entrance. There is an entrance to the parking lot about a half mile down on the right. You avoid all the stupid stop signs that way.
