At the PBKC? Hardly. I'm there about 5 nights per week and rarely ever do I see a dealer enforce the rule. Even had a discussion at the table yesterday about this. The other players didn't even know the rule existed, while the dealer admitted that neither he nor the others actually enforce it.

It shouldn't be up to the dealer or the other players to ensure that a player hasn't seen his hole card or pertinent behavior before straddling. Once a few cards are pitched, the straddle should be denied.

Don't even get me started on the button getting his first hole card and then straddling...

Scam at WSOPC at PBKC

Jimmy & crew from pokerexecutives.com are up to their same old **** down in Florida. The first prelim event was held today. The "new" scam is a $20 shake down at the table for what they're calling a partial registration fee. It's not the traditional add-on since you're given a full stack regardless. Instead they're making players pay an add'l $20 for the $345 ($100k GTD) and claiming its supposed to be a $365 buy-in even though the ads in CardPlayer state it's $345 & every ticket lists $345 buy-in. They're trying to say its a simple mistake and the event is $300 + $65.
Typical for Jimmy's crew. Way to go Noah & Tim. Dropped the ball yet again

$300+$65? Lol @ that juice. Might as well just take all the money and tell the players they're paying for the pleasure of playing.

They can do it because poker players don't care about the juice....they are gonna play these type of tournaments no matter what the juice is.

So I'm in town for the circuit and decided to play some cash. The dealers had said they suspended all high hand/bonuses/etc b/c last year a lot of out of towners won, which didn't sit well with the regulars. That is understandable. However, it's complete bs that they are still raking the $2 a hand to pay for it.

This doesn't seem fair at all. It's understandable to keep money in the room but shouldn't be raked if they are not going to pay it out.

It's beyond unfair, it's down right criminal. Suspending the jackpots is bs too. Real poker destinations welcome the steroid like increase in action that a successful tournament circuit brings and which might lead to a jackpot being hit. It's good PR and it's just as likely that a local player hits as opposed to a visitor.

The badbeat jackpot is still available to be hit....they just don't have any high hand promotions going on.

That sucks about them not having a HH promotion but still having the $2 drop.
Anyways I was thinking about taking a trip to wpb does anyone know how many 2/5NL they have going nightly during their tourney series?

Also is PBKC planning to join the bravo poker live?

It's a good question, but... lol.

They're raking 3 from the blinds that can't chop. They're raking 2 despite no running promotions. There are no comps.

Spend money for Bravo? Nah, why do that when you can run crappy software for free?

I watched one of the floor managers fail for a few minutes trying to add me as a table transfer. It was my 3rd attempt. Attempt number 4 proved to be a success.

$500 high hands every 15 minutes start next week through Thursday. I guess I should love it as a local, but man is that a rape to the people in town for the series getting jackpot dropped.

The bad beat at PBKC hit 3 times in 4 days during the wsopc last year. All this *****ing about drop is bs. I'd rather pay no rake and no jackpot and just have them give me money when I come in, and ponies, and rainbows, and candy...

Love the March high hand promos. But for the love of god put some more waitresses in the room. Takes forever to get a drink there lately, seems only one waitress working on weekdays

I'll be in town in early April, and I need a full runover of the basic necessary info for my preferred game(s):
  • What's the buy-in range for $2/5 and $1/2?
  • When can you count on a $2/5 NL table running?
  • What's the rake structure? (Include BBJ drop info)
  • It looks like a $2 BBJ drop?? What's the Bad Beat and what else can I possibly get in return for that?
  • It looks like they run nice structure tournaments on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting at noon. What does "Dealer App" mean? ('2000' on Friday; '4000' on Saturday; '4000' on Sunday). How much of the buy-in go to the prize pool? Is there a guarantee?

Since it's the end of April I'll concede we dropped the ball on this request and proffer that more immediate feedback can be obtained by calling us or going through the pbkennelclub website. We appreciate twoplustwo and very much enjoy our players having direct access to us for feedback and inquiries. Unfortunately sometimes posts like these slip through unnoticed. Hopefully you got the answers you needed, and hopefully we had a chance to impress you with our room and service.
