Anyway room was 75% full at 4pm, as I was leaving about 7 people were coming in steady. The players were talking about the new limits, some that never played deep were kind of nervous, they have been hearing all the stories how the Florida players are going to get crushed because all the pros are coming, which is a lie, the pros that come here will not be that many for one and not many will be playing the 1/2 - 2/5 game.

I was sitting at the table and the guy across from me sounded familiar, it was a bartender from Stuart I know close to 20 years ago, haven't seen him for at least 16 years so it was good to see someone from so long ago.

I did see a sign for a tournament for a $50,000 guarantee, I asked the brush who the guy is it was for, it was for a regular player at the PBKC that passed away "Turk" I think I may go by and play in a satellite next week, they were only $30 to get into the $550 buy in at the end of the month.

Anyway had a good time and everyone was friendly.
Gambit, Glad you stopped by the PBKC. Hope to see at the next Big Dog $30/$20 super satellites. They are a great way of getting into the big event at a significant discount where on average 15% of the field has been getting entries into the Big event and yes John "Turk" was an endeared player by many of the players at the PBKC and a special man to many, who passed away recently.
Hope all is well.

Noah and Mojo have clearly been very customer service oriented just based on their tone and professionalism in the replies here. I am on the other coast and am planning on a visit to their room just because of their approach here in this forum. I have never been to PBKC but am looking forward to it!

Yes Bossman that is the John "Turk" I was referring to. A very good man. We named the "Big Dog" in honor of John at the end of the month.

Hello everyone, this is Josh from PBKC. I've just read the thread (mostly) and would like to thank everyone for participating in making ours the place players want to play. We rely on you guys to tell us how to have the best room we can have... and I can tell you, we're certainly listening.

Many decisions have been made with regard to the future of Florida Poker, and many more will be made going forward. I have a simple philosophy when it comes to the room and you the players. We've got all these tables and cards, chips and dealers, tell us how to make your idea of the perfect game happen.
Thanks again,
JA

^ I remember when Josh used to be a dealer. Good times.

Question:

What time will the PBKC be closing on July 1st (Thursday)? Midnight as usual or do the new laws take into effect that day?

What time will you be opening on Thursday?

One of the tracks had mentioned that by law they will have to wait until the new gaming day starts(when they reopen) on July 1st, for new rules.
Both hard rocks go at 12:01am July 1st tho. Good times.

I believe Mike Smith explained the law, the gambling day starts at 5am, so in the gaming world July 1 is 5am July 1, the Seminoles will not have to follow that though.

It sounds as though this was a satellite for the WSOP. Of course we cannot pay 10% of the field if we are trying to make $11,000 packages. I am sure this was the case, correct? If so, please do clarify. If not, I can look into the issue.

If you would like to stop by to discuss your displeasure, I would be more than happy to hear your input.

Take care.
This was not in fact a satty tourney, its a descent room and all but the structure was THE worst i've ever seen even for FL standards.

Hope to see a few more guaranteed tournaments (deepstacks) with solid structures, such as the Saturday one that was recently brought back. The Isle's has a Tuesday tourney that is great. always a solid turnout.

Will you have a PLO tournament before the 1st like the Isle is having on June 26th? If so do not do it on the same day, PLEASE.

Thanks Typical. Glad you like the Saturday $10,000 guarantee $120 buy-in we offer every Saturday. It is a great event with a large turnout and players seem to rave about the structure and enjoy it. The structure is designed in 1/2 steps for the most part and allows for poker players to play and use their skills.

On Saturday June 26th we also have the $50,000 guaranteed "Big Dog" which is a deep stack event that is expected to go 2 days. It too will have a great structure and the prize pool is expected to be even higher that $50k.

Along with our daily events, it is events like these and others that we are continually working on to offer Florida tourney players and will continue to expand and include others as well. Your input is important and I welcome it. Stay in touch and thanks again. See you there. Mojo

I'm pretty sure this is currently in the stage of being (or has been already) changed per some of the other threads. By July 1st, a "gaming day" will be 12 am - 12 am.

Once the law takes effect (midnight on Weds) we will begin... Weds night is in the air, but Thursday will be a 9am to 3am day for sure.... and thanks, I did always love being a dealer.

We will spread the PLO and virtually any other game in demand, and a tournament is a good way to introduce our capabilities to players. However, once the new wears off and players start to settle on their "home" facility, I think our ongoing efforts to perfect our craft will bring all the games players want to play. We are working hard to meet our individual and group challenges with one thing in mind. We want to be the best place for poker in the State (at least).

He is putting together a list for a larger NL hold'em game to play over they July 1st weekend. Please feel free to give him a call and let him know what games, 5-10 and above, that you would like to play.

Also, we will be looking to put together a PL Omaha Hi, as well as a Omaha/8 game for that same weekend. Please call and let him know if you are interested!

We believe this hands on approach will give allow you players to get more consistent games on a more consistent basis!!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hey, I'm the one that asked on Saturday about the possibility of remaining open on July 1st from midnight to 3am (based upon new 12am to 12am gamblind day) instead of waiting to open and raise buy-ins the next day. Any word on if this is going to happen yet? I'm waiting to decide whether I'll be playing at the PBKC or book my room at the Hard Rock for at least the first night.

To pokernoah/Josh: Why oh why don't you guys allow 'buying the button' when someone who missed their big blind makes it back to the table in time for what would have been their small blind? I don't see the logic in disallowing this.

Also, it may have been mentioned earlier, but raking without seeing a flop is super lame as well.

Lastly (and really the one I care most about, lol)... FREE WATER PLZ! I just moved down here and started playin at the KC last week. When I ordered a bottle of water the first time and was told it was $1.75 it blew my mind. It wouldn't kill you guys to give just a little back to the players!

havent u ever played in los angelos? its standard there to take the FULL RAKE UPFRONT (such as $5 on a $6 pot). people in florida are actually getting a Bargain. anyway i sent noahac a question on their website about a week ago and my question was totally ignored. i did it through the companys website, not on 2+2. i was wondering if the stud game actually went on a daily basis, and how many tables?

Sorry we didn't get back to you sooner... as you can imagine we are doing a lot of last minute adjusting to prepare for the new limits, but I'm not trying to make excuses.

We do have a stud game at present, but it only goes about 2 or 3 times a week, and not always in a predictable manner. Usually we'll have a game on Friday nights, but again, that's 1-3 spread limit (sometimes with a $1 ante). With the newer limits I think we'll get a more consistent game. Some of us happen to like playing stud and 8, and I'm interested to see if our enthusiasm will be a benefit to local stud players.

This is the 3rd time I asked this question and no answer yet.
After July 1st will there still be a $2 button post on 1/2nl or any other NL games?
