SnGs would be nice if they ran with any frequency, but I don't know how many people realize that PBKC offers them. It would be cool if this was something that could be promoted a little bit, but I have a feeling that most people don't like the idea of having a time commitment to sit through a sng without being able to just get up at any point.

And like you said, keeping players at the cash tables is probably going to be more profitable so there's less incentive to push the sng.

We feel comps on a personal level go alot further than throwing a set amount onto a players card.

Please don't go out of your way to talk **** about the players in your room. There are plenty of "recreational players" that don't view themselves as recreational/wanting to have fun but rather as professional victims of unluckiness.

Noah,

One thing I have noticed playing at the PBKC in the last month or so is the tourney structures are horrid. How you dont have a 600/1200 level is one of the bigger ones but you definitely should have different structures for the tourneys. I feel the deep stack on saturday and the super deep stack on sunday could both be solid tourneys with decent sized fields if you fixed the structure and added a few levels or just changed them. Like adding a 600/1200 and then there is a point where the blinds go from 5k/10k to 7k/15k, what kind of blind level is that? It shouldnt be a shove fest within the final 2 tables when you start with as many chips as you do but when you just add chips but dont fix the structures it becomes bingo towards the end. Also it seems like there are only a couple of floor men for the tourneys that actually care. The taller guy with glasses on Sunday has to be one of the worst just doing everything he can to speed the game up and get out of there and has no personality nor is friendly with hardly anyone. The guy who usually is the floor man at night and then on Saturdays is the best one there imo because he actually seems like he cares about the players and not just trying to get out of there. I know I've talked to others about the structures who say the same thing and I'm sure will be posting in here about it.

wuutttt, hook up a chicken tender wrap and a Guinness 1 time pls?

With regards to suggestions. The new $2 high hand/bad beat rake is ridiculous, please go back to the $1 if you really need to do that promotion. The $2 min rake is also ridiculous but I have a feeling there is no chance of that going anywhere. The tournaments need to be completely reformatted as they are essentially shove fests from the first break onward (in the lower ones) and then shove fests in the last 2 tables for the bigger ones. You could easily add 1 or 2 levels and make it a little less super turbo like without taking too much away from the bottom line. At the very least a 6000/12000 level instead of jumping from 5/10 to 7.5/15 is a must. Don't get me wrong I know push fold is a big part of the game but it shouldn't be at that point so early in the lower buy in ones and the higher buy in ones just need minor adjustments. I realize the cardroom wants to end them as soon as possible for financial reasons but when the rake is so absurd in many of the smaller ones it be cool if it played less like a scratch ticket. Additionally the tourney director from the sunday deep stack this week was an *******. I could hear him bitching about people under his breath and kicking people out of areas for no reason at all and just generally being rude to everyone. The guy that worked the 120 deepstack 2 saturdays ago on the other hand was awesome and very friendly, more of him please.

I'm glad to hear you are changing the felts as some of them are nice and some are just abhorrent. I had a hard time pulling my cards in the other day playing cash at a table because it was so filthy and sticky. The chips are also just nasty for the cash games I don't know if there is anyway you can at least wash them but ick. I've been down here for a little over a month and have been sick as **** for about 2 weeks of that time.

Totally agree with this post--the jump from 400/800 to 800/1600 is just so terrible. In the end ALL the pbkc tournys become nothing but shove fests.

Yea the change from $1 to $2 for the bbjp is horrendous. For the casual player it makes no difference, but in the end it hurts the dealers in less tips--i know in my case i do not give $1 tip now unless the pot is $25+ just to offset that extra $1. If you do the math the extra $1 a hand costs me around at least $500 a month [20 won pots a day @ 25 days a month]

With all due respect, its a $100+$20 tourney on Saturdays. 1/2 levels, and it takes 7 1/2 to 8 hours just to get to the final table. Play it to the end and you're looking at 9-10 hours. You won't find a much better structure for a $100 tourney in this state. I'm not a poker room rep...just a player, and I've played $200 tourneys that are done in 5 hours. This tourney is good value.

Wow, sucks to hear you guys are now doing a $2 jackpot. Is this done in the pit as well? Will you take away the extra dollar for pit players if they request?

Does PLO or PLO8 run on a regular basis?

If so, is the game subject to the $2 pull for the BBJ?

Any other places in the area that do run regular plo/plo8 games?

They get a round and round plo/plo8 game there like every friday and saturday nite sometimes 2 tables sometimes it goes really late. Sometimes they will play all plo8 1 2 with either a 5 dollar bring in or a 5 dollar button staddle.

33, Although still very close with the PBKC and still assist with promoting, I am no longer the TD. I have taken a job with PCT and will be traveling with the WSOPC.

Hope all is well my friend. PM me if you'd like

All the best, Joe

Huge congrats! Jimmy and the boys are lucky to have you. I am sure I'll see you at a couple stops throughout the country while chasing the cash games.
