Front room, it was me he threw the cards at. But there is a lot more to the story. I left for the night as well. Was kind of funny actually. But Doc got really mad bc he got kicked out. We both deserved it I guess....

Business guy? Really? Business? Looked like a gay backstreet boy wanna-be.
He had on a "tight" CK Zip up track jacket in all black. I say tight bc it was an XXL and was still "form fitting". He looked like he should be in an SNL skit with Jimmy Fallon and JT selling clothes for Prada of something and taking it in the anus.
Anyways, that kid was all show. He had no real balls. He just played like a donk and ran good. He really isnt a bad player though. Dont get me wrong, hes no good. But he knows the ABC's of poker.

Re: Nautica Charity Poker Festivals (Cleveland, OH)
The web site says that Nautica is only open on Friday nights until midnight. If so, that's ridiculous. Does anyone know whether that's actually the case? I'm here for the holiday and want to play

2/5 500-1K buy in. It plays like a 10/20 NL game and a 5/10 PLO game. It plays a lot bigger than it should. Especially with straddles all the time. Its one of those limp, limp, limp, pot, call, call, call call typr of PLO games.
Very frustrating IMO but there is money to be made if you run good and have the BR to back it up.

IIRC they were open on Mondays last month for some reason. Not sure why/if they do it often.

Re: Nautica Charity Poker Festivals (Cleveland, OH)
saw a lady check behind on the river with the stone cold nuts in 1-2nl today. flop goes AJ4 with 2 spades, she has AQ with the Q of spades, she flats a bet on the flop, turn king of spades, it goes check check, river 3 of spades, checks to her she checks back and shows the nuts. the other player flips of the jack of spades and laughs. he was obv calling almost any bet on the river. the ladys husband was at the table berating her after the hand for not betting !
question.....isnt that against the rules in most casinos? to check the river w the stone cold nuts. pretty sure it is, but what could they really do as a penalty for doing that?

If it's AJ4 with 2 spades, then the As and 4s are on the board, since the J of spades was revealed at the end of the hand. With the 3s on the river, 2s5s would be the nuts here.
Normally though, it is against the rules to check the nuts behind. I think it's seen as a form of collusion. I've seen people get penalized in live tournaments for it, never seen anything happen in a cash game.

What if the player obvoiusly doesn't have a clue that they have the nuts (which was probably the case here)?

Re: Nautica Charity Poker Festivals (Cleveland, OH)
Got to play last night for the first time in a few months. Came up for the $100 KO.
Played the KO and a few hours of 1/2 and I don't think I had a working shuffler at any table. Sort of annoying, especially when we had a dealer that wouldn;t let the players shuffle, thus slowing down the game.

That's usually the instance that it happens, but I don't think ignorance is a good enough reason to avoid a penalty in a tournament, unless the dealer doesn't know the rule, and nobody at the table says anything. Again, no idea how they could penalize you for it in a cash game as I've never seen it.
