Grand Opening Tuesday July 13, 10am.
It's invite only 2,500 people I think I'm guessing the poker room will only be one type of game if they even open it on the 11th. I'm assuming all rake goes to the charity if that's the case.

My hub and I were invited but I'll just be getting back from NOLA that day and it's not exactly around the corner from us.

Hollywood at Penn National is the closest to us.

It's been about 8 years since I went, but will be back for sure now. Very smart expansion for this place and I highly reccomend a winter visit if your interested in going. Lot's to do, even more now.
Ah, the famous Mt. Airy Lodge hottubs....the old joke was how many unborn children were swimming in those tubs!

Anyways, anyone know if a straddle will be allowed in PA? I think I read somewhere that it is in Delaware....unlike in NJ

Also, which PA casino does everyone think will someday host a Heartland Poker Tour event??? I'd be all over that!!

Oh yeah... I'll be there July 13th by 7:30pm.

It's about time. I always thought they would after Sands came into the picture offering free drinks but it took until now

I was there today. All of the poker tables are installed and they were delivering the chairs today. It looks like a comfortable room for 11 tables and the location is great for walk-by traffic. I'll probably be there sometime the first week, but not opening night. I can imagine this room getting pretty crowded on the weekends.

Has anyone gotten any info on the soft opening yet? Will the poker room be open on Sunday or will we all be flooding Pocono Downs?

I can't confirm 100% but almost positive the poker room will be open this Sunday 2-10pm during the soft opening.

So I just got back from Mount Airy for their test run. I was disappointed to find out that they were only spreading limit games today for the test run but it was still a good and profitable time.

The wait lists weren't bad at all today, the room filled up pretty quickly after they cut the rope and let everyone in at 2pm. 1/2 LHE 2/4 LHE and 1-5 Stud tables opened up immediately and a interest list started for 2/4 Omaha H/L right away but I didn't see the game go off yet at 5 when I left, there were about 4 names on the list.

Overall today the games were extremely soft, when my table first opened there were actually a couple players who asked the dealer how many decks are used in this game & had no idea what blinds even were. It appeared that most of the dealers were totally green with the exception of one or two. They were fumbling with chips and cards the whole time and the auto shuffler at our table broke so they had to hand shuffle making it even more difficult for them but I'm sure in time they will get better.

As far as house rules go there is a betting line on the table and it plays. You can count chips anywhere behind the line and no bet is binding until verbally declared or it's pushed over the line. The comp system seems like it will work very well, each table has a player card swipe when you sit the dealer clocks you in and when you leave the dealer clocks your seat out. Each table has to have a mandatory $600 in the rack so dealers weren't coloring anyone up and almost all the games were played with solely $1 chips accept for people who brought redbirds and larger from floor games to the table. If the amount was small enough you were allowed to rebuy at the table but otherwise I seen floor chip running for people when the rack was to short. The cage is right in the corner of the poker room with only two windows. All in all it's a very nice little room and I look forward to Tuesday when all games can be spread.

If there's a 10-20 LHE game, I'm there ASAP.

2/4 was the highest today because they said the state $5 max bet for the trial run applied even though we know the western casinos spread no limit during trial day. Tuesday they will spread any game that theres an interest for. Ill report back then.

I stopped in after the test day was over. The casino was busier than I've ever seen it late on a Sunday night. The blackjack, etc. tables really seem crammed together.

And the poker room looked cramped with all the seats in there. Though the seats look really nice. Did it feel cramped?

It didn't feel to cramped although it's pretty close. There was a ton of floor, gaming commission & other random people standing around in between tables which made it feel close to being cramped but I'm sure that was only because it was the test run and after a couple weeks of initial hype crowds it will be a very comfortable room. The chairs are very comfortable and the tables are a nice size for 10 people.

I'm not sure on the floor games as I don't play them but I could barely see over the sea of people walking by them yesterday lol.

How many decks are used? All I can say is, "wow" and I think I may have to stop by for the opening tomorrow. I was going to wait until later this week but feel like I'd be leaving money on the table if don't get to the opening tomorrow.

Let's hope it's the end of the year before the waterfall of cash stops.

It would be nice to have some trip reports posted over the next few days.

I'm pretty excited to play some poker tomorrow.

Anyone have any idea what time things get going tomorrow? How early do you think the crowds will be there? I'd like to head over late morning/early afternoon, anyone else plan on being there that early?

Hopefully there will be some 2/5 but I'll settle for 1/2.
