Does anyone know if they actually do something like this, if so how many hrs/points do you need to start getting these kinds of offers. I try to get up to mohegan as much as possible but since its over an hr away its tough for me to make the daily drive. Would def go a lot more if i knew what i needed to do to start getting free rooms.
Qualify for a Sagamore card. It takes 1600 points in a fixed 6 month period (Apr-Sept, Oct-Mar). That breaks down to:

1/2nl - 800 hours (31 hrs/wk)
2/5nl - 534 hours (21 hrs/wk)
5/10nl - 400 hours (16 hrs/wk)

You're right that I forgot about 1/1nl, and I don't know what the points/hr is at that. But they absolutely have 1/2nl. It's the most popular stakes there!

They have both 1/2 ($300 max) and 1/1 ($100 max). Comps: $2 per hour for 1/2, $1 per hour for 1/1.

Re: Mohegan Sun (Uncasville, CT)

Haven't played poker in quite a while. I was thinking of going to either Mohegan or Foxwoods next weekend but I don't like cash games, just sit and go's. The last time I went (over a year now) to MS I waited about an hour for a sit and go to fill and it didn't happen, I ended up unregistering.

Are there any sit and go's running at Foxwoods or MS on the weekends without having to wait around >20/30 minutes? Has Black Friday changed anything, is it much busier at the b&m's now?

Sorry if these are naive/ignorant questions, I haven't played for so long now I am not up on anything at all.

^^^

I have never seen a single player express an interest in a S&G - I suspect there are NO S&G's at either facility.

I don't think they get the 1/1 games going till late afternoon on the weekdays.

If you play 1/1 on a decent night, (thursday, friday, saturday or sunday) you can usually find a table with some action. If your table is willing to gamble a little bit, the game can be massively +EV. And it's pretty common to see a dude get drunk, start blabbing about how "$100 is nothing" to him, only to spew hundreds into the table. My friend and I once took a whale for over $900 at 1/1.
i put in a bunch of hours playing the 1/1 game since all my gambling money is tied up online. id say its pretty close to unbeatable with a 40bb pot being raked 5bb.

but lo and behold, when i thought the game couldnt get any worse off, MS goes and ****s players once again.

i played thursday night for a few hours, they now have a drop on the flop regardless of pot size. so i watched a bunch of 4 handed limped preflop pots, they rake a dollar, guy bets $3 on the flop and takes it down, tips the dealer a dollar, for a whopping profit of a dollar.

if you think the game is beatable you are deluding yourself. thats not to say you cant win money but it has to really be the perfect conditions. they rake close to a buyin off the table every 2-3 hours.

How's the crowd over there?

Are people concerned about the storm?

I called up the poker room and they said they'll be open all weekend

Re: Mohegan Sun (Uncasville, CT)

Played 2/5 at Mohegan for the last 2 weeks straight. It's a nice poker room, way nicer than Foxwoods, and if you become a regular, the floor will treat you right. Poker rate rooms during the week are $99 + $9.95 (Facility Fee) + 14.85 (Tax). You can pay with comps, and comps at 2/5 are 3-points an hour. You're not going to get rooms comped unless you make Sagamore club, which requires making 1600 points over a fixed 6-month window. Haven't heard of Wolf club members being given rooms (800 points). The best deal if you don't want to pay for a Mohegan room is to stay at Microtel. It's $69 during the week; there is a shuttle that runs 5PM - 1AM for free, or otherwise, it's a $10 cab ride.

You can call into the poker room to put your name down onto the list; but you will have to confirm once you arrive. If your name is blinking on the screen, then you are an unconfirmed call-in. This is pretty convenient, and can cut down wait times significantly. Get to know the regs, and they might lock up your seats for you too, making your seat an almost guarantee.

Someone mentioned lounge access; that's right -- if you play enough, they will give you lounge access where there is 24-hour buffet styled food. You have to ask the floor. Become a long enough regular, and they will give it to you for as long as you are staying. Nice, since the food is free, but the food is pretty damn awful. Routinely hear of people getting sick from it. On the other hand, the Deli right next to the poker room is decent. At 2/5+ a Deli-boy (usually Bennet) will come by every so often and take orders, and bring you food to the table. Pretty convenient.

The games during the week are very beatable. It is heavily filled with regulars; some of them are decent, but in 2 weeks of play there have been only two players I think are very good and not +EV to play against. Everyone else has leaks, some of them quite egregious. 1-3 tables of 2/5 during the weekdays. If they game has broken, it will reopen around 8:30 in the morning with only regs. By the early afternoon there are usually two games, and it might go to 3 tables at night.

If you are new to live poker, be prepared to psychologically condition yourself. Many of the regulars are hustlers; don't fall for their tricks. I've seen some sly maneuvers. I wouldn't call them angle shoots per se, but they are pretty darn close. Don't fall for them.
