Re: Mohegan Sun Poker Thread

A Mohegan 5/10NL reg made it to the final table of the 10k High Roller Bounty Shootout last night. Not sure if I can list his name here but he picked up 5 bounties (2k each) and 40k for winning his table. Not too shabby.

Final table is tomorrow! Here's a list of the final 9.

Jason Mercier
Joe Sweeney
Eugene Katchalov
Scott Blackman
Jimmie Guinther
Michael Pesek
Taylor von Kriegenbergh
Jonathan Jaffe
Micah Raskin

Re: Mohegan Sun Poker Thread

Heading to the Sun for Memorial Day weekend with gf and was stunned to see $500+ for a Saturday night stay. In fact, most Saturdays in May seem to be $500+. GF not a Fowoods fan, so I ask the following questions:

-Any poker rates or other discounts available on weekends?
-The new Hyatt Place near MS looks nice and there is a shuttle - any experience at that hotel?

Thanks in Advance

The hyatt is nice, less than half as much as Mohegan on the weekends and u can use your points... The shuttle is a nice addition, but I'd recommend driving unless ur getting ripped up lol

Poor Joseph, 9th place when he donkshoved second pair into the nuts (flush) on the flop with a huge overbet. Welp, at least he's got 50k more to his roll

FYP

There's so much soft-playing among regs it can really kill the action in the game. I'm just happy the donkeys don't pay enough attention to notice.

Thankfully, for regs like this, the games are still beatable:

On the last hand of the level, we've lost our first player from this final table.
It began with Eugene Katchalov opening to 2,400, and Joe Sweeney called from the small blind to go heads up to the flop. It came Kd 5d 9d , and Sweeney decided to take the betting lead. He did so in a big way with an all-in shove for what looked like 28,300 total. Katchalov snap-called, and Sweeney knew he was in trouble.

Showdown

Sweeney: 8h 9h

Katchalov: Ad 2d

Well, that's why Katchalov called so quickly! He'd flopped the nuts with his diamonds, and Sweeney was drawing dead to runner-runner.
The turn ended any potential drama, and the river was too little, too late for the at-risk player.

That's the end of the road for Joe Sweeney, walking out in 9th place with $40,000 plus six bounties for a total cash of $52,000. Not too shabby for the local.

Re: Mohegan Sun Poker Thread

I have never been carded at the table at either FW or MS. I'm 24 now, have been going for 2-3 years and look pretty young when i'm clean shaven.
I have however been carded by waitresses for beverages.

Maybe for players from CT. With the price of gas right now I know I for one won't be driving from the NH/MA border to CT just cuz the trip back and forth is gonna cost me $50 prob in fuel and 4 hours of my time. Sucks that my option now is either that or play 2/4 limit nh charity games with a $7 rake.
