Thanks for the update...

Was also wondering what time did they fill it ? Like, next week do you have to be signed up by 5/6 pm ?

Does anyone else know how long it took to complete ?

Had 100 entrants at 6:45pm and capped at 20 tables by 7:25pm. We added several alternates in the first two levels...I would suggest you register as early as possible...we will do all we can to get as many in as possible in the upcoming weeks. Registration opens at 4:30pm.

It ended at approximately 2:15am

also, is there a cheap hotel nearby that I can shuttle from and to the casino? I want to visit during the tournaments this summer but don't want to pay more than 100/weekday.
I have been able to book the Holiday Inn Norwich on Priceline on any weekday night for $45. It's 5 mins from Mohegan and I think they have a shuttle. If you go to priceline name your own price, select 3 stars, Norwich area only and enter in $45... it gives me the holiday inn every time. Decent enough rooms with comfy beds.

Priceline is the nuts if you know how to game the system. I used to use it for up there EVERY WEEKEND so I wouldn't have to drive home to NYC- $40 gets you New London, $50 gets you Groton, $60 Mystic.

Anyone goin to be playing the summer showdown this year? Going to play event 1 with a few friends. Any idea of how the turnout might be like for the 150k garuntee. IS there a cap to number of entrants and should we register early or would the day of be fine.

I am not sure if this topic has been discussed on this thread, so i apologize in advance if it has. I know that we discussed the 2-5nl game at mohegan going to a 1k max buyin, but are there any regular 2-5 mohegan players that can comment on how much it has changed the game? Would it be more beneficial for me to just go and play in the foxwoods 2-5 if i'm going to buying in for $500 increments? I would think it plays more like a 5-10 game, but thats why I want some feedback from people who have been playing it..thanks guys

In the Spring I registered day of the $350 $100k guaranteed around 8 AM. There we're already 300 registered and I'm pretty sure they capped it at 620 players. Not sure how many they will be capping it at this summer.

I played the last two Sunday afternoons. There was a little more money on the table because most people bought in for over $500 but less than the max, but overall the game didn't play differently. BTW Sunday afternoons are a bad time to play as it appeared to be mostly MS regs with a few Foxwoods regs thrown in. I have been playing there about twice a month since the room opened, so I recognize a lot of the regs but don't consider myself one. Some of the regs were saying that the 5-10 game has tightened up since the increase in buy-in because the occasional 5-10 players have gravitated back to the 2-5 game. They did mention that a number of Foxwoods regs now play the the 5-10 game on occasion and when they do it has been tough and very agro. I've only played one short 5-10 session at MS so I can't comment on the game.

I like the new max, especially when there are others that also buy in for max or close to max. However, my past two visits (last night included), at my first must moves, I was the only one that bought in for max, but some others bought in for $750-800 and i think a lot more buy in for $500ish than before.

I think that if you plan on buying in for 100 bbs, you may on occassion have to tighten up your preflop play just a bit. I think some players (a small percentage, but 1 or 2 at the table will affect your game) have adjusted their raise/bet sizes in light of the deeper stacks around the table. Obviously there are still a lot of weak tight passive players in the games, so there are a lot of 6-7 way limped pots, etc. and lots of people that buy in for 200bbs that don't really grasp that some adjustments should be made.

Not very good. When I'm there on a week night, list usually gets to 3 or 4 people, but no more.

I play both 5-10 and 2-5 at mohegan regularly. The 2-5 game still plays the same even with the 1k buy-in. Typically there are only a few players that buy in for the full amount and the preflop standard raise is still 15-30, whereas the 5-10 preflop raise would be between 30-50.

I would say half the players still buy in for 500
1/4 buy in for 300
1/4 buy in for 1000

Thanks, sounds like your standard 2/5 game then. Hope I make it there this weekend.

Is there any chance on getting some limit games going at Mohegan Sun? I'm sick of having to go to Foxwoods to play limit.

What limit games are you looking for? MS spreads 2-4, 3-6, I think 6-12 and then sometimes higher. What limits are you looking for? I'll be up there tonight either playing one of those games or 1-2NL.

I know they run a 3-6 all the time. Nothing else is consistant. Looking for something in the $5-10 or $10-20 range. $6-12 sounds like something I would be interested in. Ideally I would like a mix game at those stakes.
