yah personally have about 2.2K set aside for live poker right now. I live up near Boston so I don't get down that way as much as i'd like (daily would be great lol). skillwise the 1/2 is pretty easy but Ive had both good and bad sessions live. the biggest problem i have with playing at that level is I get crushed by a big stack whose willing to gamble unless I have the nuts. I sat down one friday night and had two or three good players wiht 600 plus stacks and they just abused me, granted i wasn't getting too many easy hands to play.

that said, i am finetuning my game online and mostly playing MTTs there. id rather play the tournies at mohegan (and foxwoods) with my 2.1 K roll as there is much less of a chance of risk of ruin and i find i am rarely in a spot where i don't know what to do, which i cna't say about hte cash tables.

300 bucks with a 20 set aside for gas should be enough

tournaments are so much crazier in variance than cash games lol
if your trying to build a roll with 2k cash games are definitely the way to go, while you might not feel 100% comfortable you can nit it up and wait to get paid
ill probably be there around 5

I have a question.

Does anyone else keep their roll in chips? I do and I am questioning whether it is a good idea or not. Plus, I have alot in Foxwoods chips and only a few buyins in Mohegan chips so that may cause an issue in the future.

I hate carrying chips. I'm always paranoid that 1 might fall out when I dig into my pocket for something, like pulling out my phone.

Well, I am a woman, so I have a purse. I also color up before I leave so most of it is in black chips.
But, I do worry if it would be easier to misplace a black chip over a $100 bill. When I lived in Vegas, I just kept cash but, for some reason, I started doing the chip thing here.

This would certainly prevent me from blowing my winnings on bills and car repairs and other silly things like that. But then, there are those craps tables on the way out of the casino...meh, I'll stick with cash.

I am paranoid about losing chips while fumbling around in my pockets, myself.

But I am planning on being there at about 6:45ish, anyone else?

That's my point. If I lost a redbird, booo that sucks. If I lost a black, FUUUUUUUUUUQ!! But, I didn't consider the fact you'd have a purse. I'd still prefer cash, but you're probably safe from misplacing any chips.

Looks like ill only be able to do the 1100 and maybe the 250...

Why in the world would they cram them? And they wonder why they don't get a good turn out on tourneys. The 1100 and 550 are gonna pull players from each other for sure.

I usually play one or two sattys when the big events come around, so hopefully I can make a few. They're cheap for us folks who aren't staked, or are staked by our significant others.

When I played more often, I would keep 3 buy-ins worth of blacks with me, but as life problems got in the way of poker and I needed the money it got annoying to have to drive to the casino to cash in. I think I remember from a previous post that you live in Mass, so that is something to consider. But if you never touch your poker bankroll for anything else, the only real problem I see with keeping chips in your purse rather then cash is if you find a game elsewhere.

Also, I could be wrong but I believe I heard that the 2 casinos will cash in chips from the other.

I live in RI and it would take a pretty huge disaster for me to ever have to touch my roll to pay for life expenses.
I didnt know that the casinos will cash them in. That would be sweet considering that I have 30xs more in Foxwoods chips than Mohegan.

We went to Vegas last year and we took a few thousand of Foxwoods/MGM chips hoping to be able to play them at MGM and, NOPE!
