Yes I agree there will be quite a few good games right from jump street.

I might stop in opening night but my biggest concern is how green the dealers are going to be until they get their feet under them for a few weeks. Even with good training, there will probably be some nerves the first few downs. Not much bothers me in poker but slow games that don't have a good rhythm to them get under my skin.

I have a feeling you're going to hear "FLOOOORRRR!!!" quite a bit for a little while.

Sunday will be 2/4 3/6 limit and 1/2 no limit. And is open to the public. A mixed game will be spread if there is enough interest.

For the 1-2, is it a regular game, I mean there's no special restrictions on buy ins or bet sizes because its a not a normal day?

It wouldnt be "1/2 no limit" if it were $5 max bets. That only applies to standard floor table games.

Great first day at Pocono. The 1/2 NLHE game got shut down by the state but it was still fun while it lasted. Dealers were below average but this is to be expected since they are pretty much brand new. Floor personnel was great including Art who did a great job of running the room smoothly. This is definitely going to be an excellent poker room once it gets up and running on Tuesday. Lets push to get a regular 2/5 NLHE game there and 1/2 PLO game starting tuesday morning at 10 am! Again great job to Art and all of the people at Mohegan.

Well years of waiting for poker and in your own backyard became a reality today and the way it went was better then I expected for a poker rooms opening day

Walked in around 11:30 bought in for 200 at the cage...the cashier was a little slow on the draw but all in all wasn't bad

Sat at a 1-2 table 1st hand flop broadway 6 way action board goes runner runner for a straight that was brutal...as for the dealers some were good some were a little green but that was expected....but the dealers had great customer service and ran the game without constant talking.....

Got the chance to me art he seemed pretty cool and looked like his main concern was to make the players happy...actually got in a ten minute conversation with him about what games he plans on spreading

Left around 1:30 went to the racebook to bet the Monmouth park pick 5 I really didn't want to get involved in playing cards and betting horses that's a bad combination but they had machines in the room so I had the option..

All in all the room is nice the staff is nice and the wrinkled will get ironed out soon enough...

I'll be back Tuesday nite I forgot to ask art if the door in the room will be open to the track apron but maybe I should hope it's not cuz it will curb my horse wagering and make me focused on the fish pond in the room

Great turnout yesterday, at least until they shut down no limit. Did you guys hear that someone actually died at one of the poker tables? Pretty sad. At least she got to go out playing poker. I hope I'm that lucky 60 years from now. Can't wait for the opening tomorrow. I'll be there for sure.

Also, if anyone from the casino reads this thread, is there anything you can do about the temperature. It was absolutely freezing in there yesterday. If I'm alone in thinking this, I'll shut up and deal with it, but I was a little uncomfortable with the icicles dangling from my nostrils.

Jus for the record the lady is alive and well....security brought her back to life....good for them I'm pretty sure they are all certified in CPR and other lifesaving measures...

I heard this from security in the racebook that they saved her it made me leave with a better taste in my mouth...never want to be around when tragedy strikes

As for the comment of her going out playing cards that's a real scum thing to say especially when she didn't die

I don't think it was a scum thing to say about her going out playing cards. That said, I'm glad she was resuscitated.

My dad passed quickly from cardiac arrest, doing something that he loved with friends and family nearby. It was a comfort to know that he, a) went quickly, and b) was doing something that he loved.

When it is time for us to go, we should all be so lucky.

Anyway, Mt. Airy has the same problem with the air conditioning, it's ridiculously, uncomfortably freezing cold!

I heard that it was shut down because there wasn't supposed to be a bet over $5 being made on any table game. So $2/$4 Hold em and $1-$5 stud and other games like that should have been the only things going. I can't say that this was definitely the reason though.

With that being said, the poker room looks great and seems to have a lot of games that are going to be spread provided that they have the players to fill them. I was surprised to see that they had 3 different poker magazines at the desk (Card Player, All in, and Bluff). I've never seen more than one at a poker room before.

I can't speak for the poker room dealers since I couldn't stay too long, but I can definitely say that the blackjack dealer I had was terrible. Our dealer didn't know the game, couldn't deal, and didn't even know when they drew out to 21. I also agree with someone's earlier comment that the cage was very slow, but I imagine that has something to do with how new the chips were. People didn't seem to mind these things since it was more of a jovial type of day there, but I imagine if they don't improve people are going to begin to get frustrated. Hopefully they were just nervous and will pick it up.

I also had a chance to say hello to Art which was nice to put a face to a forum name. I'll be up there Tuesday night right after work looking to get in a game.

Have fun all.

Thank you, that was all I was trying to say. No malice intended. I am glad to hear that she recovered. I was just relaying what information I had gotten from the dealers Facebook page. (for the record, I am not friends with that dealer or anything, just thought she was hot so I decided to see if I could find her on there.)
