I'm guessing they are trying to build a big reserve before running regular promotions. That said one way of avoiding any bbj drop is t just play PLO, five card or big o. There is plenty of it all day every day.

I would like to chime in that the $2 promo rake seems like a lot. I'd be fine with a $1 promo rake (or 0, but we know that won't happen).

But these 1/3 games are very soft and easily crushable, even with the $8 max coming out of a hand (including tip). Let's be honest. It's not a huge deal.

Room has been great so far, and I really look forward to more to come!

Also, don't forget that you actually get SOME value back from the bad beat: the chance you might get it yourself, bringing softer regs to the game, and inducing people to play more garbage ("bad beat hands") for longer. It's not like it's lost money.

bbj drops are garbage but these wastes of life should be glad lower stakes nl takes pot rake not time rake

With MGM NH being a 10-15 minute drive from my place in DC, I'm planning on spending many of my Saturdays and Sundays there, especially if the 1-3 games are as soft as my first experience.

First trip was this past Saturday. I'd heard stories of long wait times for 1-3 NLH, but definitely wasn't prepared for a list of ~65 people at 11:45am. I've only ever seen waits like that on Friday nights in AC or in some CA cardrooms. So with lists that long (it took about 80 minutes for me to get seated, and the list had grown to over 90 when I began playing) I understand why they run these games 10-handed. It cramps the table quite a bit, but I get it.

All the poker room staff I dealt with, from floor people to dealers to the folks manning the front desk were really nice and professional. Witnessed a very heated exchange among two players as I was walking around the room, and dealer and floor seemed to handle it very well.

Like almost everyone, not super thrilled with the rake + drop, but with no other viable options nearby, it is what it is.

Overall a very positive experience, will definitely play here on the regular.

Any chance rake could be further reduced for heads-up games? I was playing heads-up 1/2 Big O last night with a player. We saw nearly every flop with $10 or $30 in the pot. Even with a $3 max, it was pretty brutal. If a game is heads up, can $1 max rake be approved (even better would be to have the option to switch to time rake)?

I doubt its from poker. I am Gold with 50 hours of poker at Nat. Harbor, and I have gotten zero offers. Every weekday is at least $200, and the cheapest Saturday is $287.

Usually room offers/discounts are related to your ADT not your totals. dc probably has a higher daily average play than you do.

Is the $100/yr? Do you pay by cash or cc yearly or monthly? Thanks.

Yes it is 1-2 with a 5 bring in meaning of you call pre it will be 5 and while the blinds can fold for one or two respectively they have to put five in to see the flop. It is pot rake so run it twice is not allowed.

Had a couple of floors though that were really good at defusing some loud situations tonight. Just total professionals all the way. As far as the management goes, I think the room is really starting to hum.

Did have a dealer burn and turn a 6th board card tonight while action was still going - never seen that before.

Noticed again tonight how jammed together 32-33-34 are. I think somewhere people were saying that 30-31-32 were so spaced out because of a "camera issue". But there are 10 cameras above 30-31 - with 4 being the bigger pan/tilt kind - so I still dont know what the deal is there. 34 and 33 are so close together that the dealers cant really even tap like they normally would - everyone has to slide/shuffle around so they can get in and out.

Bravo has listed any where from 81 - 105 entries for recent daily tourneys. Not sure of what the top payouts have been. Guessing they have roughly ended between 6 and 7pm.

I noticed on Bravo that daily tourneys are now running Mon., Tues., Wed., & Thu @11am.

Not recently but it happened to us a few weeks ago. A dealer told me to try just using the LTE network since he'd hear it was really strong in the room - maybe due to the location? Good suggestion, it was much quicker and no issues being kicked off.
