I just got an email about a "mystery point multiplier" promo this week. You have to go to the kiosk and spin a wheel to see what the multiplier is between 2x and 300x, then that is multiplied by any points earned the rest of that day. It notes that multiplied points do not count toward card tier earnings. Do comps earned through poker hours get multiplied with this too? Or is it just slots?

Nice cash promos Mike. Details on Bravo.

Jist:
10 minute high hands ranging from 100 to 500 at various times all week.

I am assuming you are still working on Tourny specials.

Public service announcement for the 2/2 PLO crowd: Game is now time rake, $5/half hour and running it twice is permitted, with the usual Maryland state regs of only in heads up, all in pots, 1 flop, 2 turns, 2 rivers. Thanks Mike!

Later I talked to someone else who said it was OE. I'm not sure - sorry.

Other random things... The dealers don't like the 50 hour promotion - they are seeing lots of tired players, and it has tightened up the NL games, but mostly because they don't get tips from the promotion like they do for high hand promotions. I'm probably going for the 50 hours this week, so I played long sessions each of the last 3 days. I got quad A's on Thursday .... at 5:30pm in between the high hand promotion. I also got A's full of K's on Friday when there is no high hand. Oh well. I also heard that management was surprised how many people are going for the 50 hour promotion bonus - more than double what they anticipated.

Both players and dealers do seem to like the March promotions. The dealers are expecting a packed house in March, but there are fewer dealers employed now that competition has taken some of the business, so if traffic picks up as it might with this promotion, the dealers are mentally preparing for some long weeks of putting in extra hours. So be nice to your dealers (although, that should always be the case).

I hope this direct rakeback experiment (and calling it rakeback is wrong) made it clear that only rooms that absolutely need the traffic/regs from such stunts should offer it.

Also, if Sunday "drawings" are ever slated to come back, please please please just copy MGM's promo for this month instead and give the money away to people SEATED AND PAYING RAKE/JP on that day.

Played at ML for the first time this month and didn't have a good experience. I was issued a players card that didn't record any of my tournament play or cash game play. A dealer wrongly awarded a big pot to the losing player after I tabled my hand and told the dealer my hand. The casino said it was my fault.

Hopefully you won't mind getting into some details to make your story even the slightest bit credible.

I've played hundreds of hours at MDL and I've never seen a pot end up with the incorrect player. I've seen it initially awarded to the incorrect player, but it was corrected. I've also had my hours tracking messed up only one time and when I spoke with a supervisor about it, the error was corrected.

Specifically, I'm interested in hearing: (1) what exactly a supervisor said to you after you brought the error in cash play recording to him/her; and (2) the exact events that led up to you losing a pot you should have won.

I told them to check the recording because I tabled the winning hand and they told me that even if it shows that I won that there was no way to recover the pot because the other player already left with the money.

How did the player leave? Something is missing from this story

Because I wasn't even sure I won the hand until a few days later when another player told me I should have been awarded the pot.

You need to bring this up at the table, at the moment it is happening, before the next hand begins.

Not a few days later.

That's exactly what was missing from your story. So you were fine with everything until another player imagined that you won the hand and let you know about it a few days later.

Compare the chances that...

(A) You tabled your hand, actually had the winner, the dealer awarded the pot to the other player without announcing your hand, no other player at the table spoke up, AND you didn't speak up.

...with the chances that...

(B) A random guy multiple days later misremembered the hand.

(B) is much more likely than (A). Even if it were not, there is no way you can be sure you won the hand days later.

I wasn't real familiar with the game so when I told the dealer and tabled my hand and the dealer mucked it I figured I lost.

I'm positive I won the hand because I remember it and it's on the video but they won't even check it.

I'd believe you but for the fact that you didn't speak up after your tabled your hand and the dealer moved to kill it.

I told the dealer what I had and showed him so when he mucked it I figured I lost. It was plo and I haven't played it a bunch to know all the hands.

Mistakes happen.

Even if they checked the tapes, what did you want them to do?
