This doesn't have much to do with MDL but I'm sick of seeing regs treat new players poorly, or making comments that they think are quiet enough to keep to themselves...

This is no way to treat a novice player, regardless of their age, gender, etc, etc. Someone at the table should have stuck up for the new player when it was clear that she was not handling it well. If a reg makes a comment about a new player like this and they hear and are upset, you guys should needle the reg. "Oh, like you're God's gift to poker, Joe? A regular Doyle Brunson over there... Don't worry [new player], he's not leaving with any of
his chips! I hope you get them."
Not only did this new player leave, she probably won't come back because nobody at the table made it fun for her, and in fact someone went beyond that and make it a bad experience. So instead, she'll play blackjack or roulette or something.
