$609,000 in poker room promotions. Royals could bump this up a bit, but it is more likely to be less due to times when there are no qualifying high hands. The Mega Bad Beat and Mini Bad Beat promos are also still in effect. (Bravo: "Current Bad Beat Jackpot as of 11/26/16 $138,487.")

I recall the HSB opening being $1500/30min including the weekend, which is effectively the same as $500/10min. Could be wrong, but it seems like that was during the $1 drop as well.

Definitely not an advanced math person but the question will be how many of the $500/10 min hands actually qualify (if there is a qualifier) and get awarded with that short a timeframe.

Unless the $500 rolls over which could get interesting.

Mike!

I would love to see a tournament go occasionally that has a similar structure and price point as the Live! Five but without the bounties. I know that some people like those bounties but taking 40% of the money out and distributing it to the masses feels like poker socialism. Maybe every other month or once per quarter? Please?

On a similar note: what has happened to the 1k Live! Stacks? Is that coming back?

So wrong.

From this thread the week of Horseshoe opening in 2014:

Thursday is $1,000 every 30 minutes from 10am to midnight for any JP games

Thanks

Mike
Lower than what I remember as well. I'd say the upcoming promo is over five times larger than what we saw for Horseshoe opening.

I like the multi flight 2 day $400 they just ran. Essentially the same structure as the Live 5 without the bounty and with a decent guarantee due to the multiple flights. Personally played the $1000 Live Stacks and while it was a decent trny I do not like the short levels 30/40 for $1k buy in. If the levels could go 40/60, 45/60 or something similar for a $1k buy in then it is far more appealing.

Personally, I'm pretty excited for them. $500 means no paperwork - winners will get paid quickly. When ML went to the 5+2 rake, I mostly quit playing on Fridays and Saturdays, which are the days on which I used to play most frequently. I viewed the rake increase as ML saying they didn't want me there on weekends, only on days with promotions (i.e. week days). Now, with more competition arriving, ML is asking for my weekend business back, and I am looking forward to a bunch of weekend poker at ML in December.

Quick question regarding the PPC events this week.

It says that "20% of prize pool will be paid out in packages towards entrees and travel to the 2017 PPC Aruba Championship"

How is this going to work with a $120 buy-in 10k guarantee tournament? If each package is $5,000 in value, the tournament would have to have a $50k prize pool for 20% to be enough for 1 PPC package?

Are they just going to give a partial package? Like if there is a 10k prize pool one person only gets 40% of a PPC package and has to pony up the extra 3k to play it?

They have prize packages of various sizes, and they are pretty good about splitting them up if players want to chop (usually a deal is worked out X player takes the package and less cash, or the PPC can give out smaller packages to each etc)

MDL now has "Playing Behind" buttons for players waiting on chips from the chip runners. Bright yellow and same size as the "All In" buttons.

Very nice on the playing behind button (assuming it's used properly). They've had a hard time keeping fully staffed with chip runners lately with turnover and such.

I feel like they are changing times around again or only going to give one away a year.... anyone have some good info?

Mike are you able to find out from the other department what the timing of the next certificate weekend will be?

This will notify new or returning players that someone is behind and will not be able to be used by players to angleshoot. One disc per table that only the dealer ever touches.
Took 3 years since we first asked for it but I'm very happy to hear this has been implemented. Lots of upside, very little downside.

This exactly. 7 rake for just a BBJ just isnt any good imo so feels nice to be able to get to play on the weekend for a bit. We will see how long these promos can roll, but 500/10, 15, 20, all quite good along with the $15 comped slots.

Great news, thanks for this change.

Some derision from the dealers/players but if it saves a confusing spot it's worth the small bit of effort.

In 1/2 the cash is usually converted by the dealer anyway but I imagine the bigger games can have a couple guys waiting on chips.

Yep If you look back a few pages, you'll see the regulation as approved by the Lottery. So, for now, that's it.

I'll have Jason look at it. But we have been running the $400 Multi Flight regularly

Supposed to be NCL giveaways in a couple months for tiers. Best I could find out.

Thanks

The fragrance has been brutal. They must spray the chairs. a couple hours and my jeans have a semi permanent scent to them.
