The rule at MDL is that if you voluntarily table change you have to come in for anything between the min and max buy-in. If you're over the max you're forced to rat hole.

I don't play must move games here but most require you to move your entire stack.

There will be a PPC Aruba Poker Series near the end of August. More details to come.

Seems like it leaves two loopholes allowing people to do whatever they want. You can "bum hunt big stacks" by cashing out and buying back in for the amount you took off no? You maybe can't pick the table you want to go to but the rules seem inconsistent.

Maybe the idea is just that table change is at supervisor discretion so they can monitor and prevent any abuse - ie table change off table 2 and then table change back to table 2 allowing you to rathole and stay at the same table.
The 90 minute rule applies for the same game only

Thanks

Mike

Here's my confusion. Let's say I'm playing 1/2, I've build my stack to $500 and I want to change tables.
- If I ask for a table change I'll be forced to buy in for max $300 at the new table
- If I go to the cage, cash out, buy back in (less than 90 minutes) and ask for 1/2 I'll be forced to put $500 on the new table (which is possibly the same table I just came from)

Really? This has happened to you at MDL?

Every place I have played, if you cash out and then come back to
a) the same limit BUT
b) a different table
then you are treated like any other new player. Just buy in between table max and min.

If, instead you go back to the same table, yes, you are required to buy in for the amount you left with (if inside the XX minute waiting period).

Mike,
I want to let you know my wife just loves your brush and floor staff. They always go the extra mile to seat her at her preferred seat at the 1/2 tables.

No it was a hypothetical based on treating Mike's "same game" as same stakes. If I read "same game" as same table then it all makes sense.

Does anyone know of a way (other than going to the benefits counter) to see how many poker hours you've accrued during the year towards your card status (gold, platinum, black, etc)? When I sign in to see my info all I can see is my tier points, available free slot play, and self comp balance.

The benefits counter can't even tell you actually; you have to go to the poker room front desk.

Nice! Thanks for the info. I had checked with them early this year or late last year and they told me I'd need to check in the poker room, so I've done that even since.

The VIP room is closed temporarily for remodeling, and there's no free buffet during this. I heard they were adding a bar. (Doubt it's free)

I'm sure this has been posted itt but I didn't see it in the OP...

What are the requirements for gold / black card?

Assume playing poker, 1/2 nl. In the pit super rarely.

Gold is 100 poler hours. I forget what black is but you can check on their site and it tells you.

Just 100 hrs total?

Gold 100 hours of poker.
Platinum 500
Black/chairman...lol not from poker

I don't know for sure, but I don't think that poker and pit/slot points add up together. I play poker 95% of the time though

You're welcome. Sometimes they run promos, like last December, where you can earn enough hours in that promo month to get a platinum card with ~ 100 hours that month

Yeah nice... I average 10-15 hrs a session so I should get there eventually
