Speaking of setting money on fire....

Im curious what some of your winrates are @ the 1/1/2 game that plays like 2/4?
Anyone that has played a good amount of time there.

I started playing there again. the 1/1/2 is quite soft. You just have to plan what you are doing vs the players and various stack sizes.

I still don't think the game is beatable with the $6 drop and all the short stacks.

Sorry, that was off topic. How much tougher is the 3/5 game than the 1/1/2 game?

Thats what im questioning. I dont want to beat it for $8 per hour @ high variance. The short stacks are murder. Forces you to play very tight which drops the winrate.

I havent played LC's 3/5 but from my experience elsewhere players @ 3/5 are worse than online $25 NL. If you watch Live at the Bike you can see even 5/10 players are not as skilled as $25 NL online.

Someone that is a reg @ 3/5 LCs says it is still full of bad players.

I had some hesitations about playing the 3/5 there as it looked reg infested.

I opened to 25 UTG +1 over a limp with 100bb eff stacks, and got flatted in five spots.

If you dont know what that means, then you are a fish imo.

I live 7 miles away from this joint- if anyone wants to meet up or w.e, shoot me a PM

Their 1/2 was like that. When everyone at the table, including the dealer, asks each other how the dog is doing, when does little Timmy get the braces off, how's the mother in law's bunion, etc, I don't get a fuzzy feeling. I only played there a couple times, and then not again because of the above.

I respect that, but I have played the 1/1/2 game numerous times and have never run into this before at all.

Is there a city within driving distance that is not super expensive to live in and gang-infested? Everything I have looked at in San Bruno, SF, San Mateo etc is like $2k+ a month for crappy small apartments. Gross.

Plan on grinding out the 3/5 and 5/10 games for awhile, seem pretty soft, but **** paying $3k a month for a decent condo.

Depends on how long you want to drive. Reno is within driving distance.

Sacramento area is cheap and quite a bit closer than Reno and still too far to commute I think. 2 hours each way or something.

I was hoping for something within 15-30 minutes.

If you go on Crystal Springs Road all the way to the top of the mountain the apartments there are ~$1500 and its a very nice neighborhood. Families, kids, good people. I know I live there. LCs is 10m away too

Im figuring out the play @ 1/1/2 in LCs. I am now thinking it is very beatable with adjustment.

I finally found one competent poker player in the last 18m Ive been in San Fran . I was surprised.

Im seriously starting to think LCs 1/1/2 game is unbeatable unless you have a table full of stacks at least $120 in size. The shorties are murder.

Ive been taking notes on all my sessions on how large pots are, what the buys in are and there simply isnt enough money on the table.

You figure eventually someone busts out and another gets a big stack... nope. I have never seen anyone in my recent visits with more than $160 at the table and at most its 1-2 people. The rest are $40 to $80 and with that $4+2 + $1 tip its unbeatable.

Now you can table select but why waste time spending half your time looking for a good table. I'd rather go elsewhere.

Every hand I play its vs a player that will basically put me to an allin decision on the flop it not the turn.

Lets say you raise $12 preflop and get 1 caller with $80. Pot is $12+$12+$4(blinds) -$6 for drop.... $22 pot.

You the hand goes to the river and your AQ hits TP vs his 99s and you win his stack... Great.

Well not really. final pot is $160+$4-$6 or $158 -$1 tip = $157. $80 of that is yours $77 is winnings.

Lets say its a c-bet and a fold.

pot is $22 you bet $13 on TP + drawy board, he folds.

You just spent $25 to win $10. Thats just horrid. Do you tip there?

--------------
I have found that encouraging people to kill the pot is actually far better. They drop $4 and my raise sizes dont change. couple people limp I usually raise $15-$20 so no difference.

I noticed the days that players were killing the pot over and over are the days I won. The days were people didnt kill the pot and I had tons of shorties I lost.

Im realizing that you have to play real tight in these games and watch for the limpers and kills to compensate for the drop then iso-raise and be up vs 1 or 2 at most. Thats the whole game. Its effectively a 2/4 game with the $4 limp.

having played in pretty much every game lc spreads i can say that all the games are quite soft (up to and including the 5-10)
lots of terrible regs, i generally enjoy playing here
i would however stay away from the 1-1-2 game which is just a joke
if your looking to play smaller your better of going to oaks which has a straight 1-2 game

Any truth in 2/5 PLO running? $500 max buy in?

I think 2/5 PLO has run on 3 of the last 5 tuesday nights. buy-in is $100-$500.
In theory, game starts at 6, but it didn't start til 8 on one of the nights I was there. U can always call the poker desk to ask how long list is or if game is running.

Sick. Any idea on how competent/aggressive the player pool is?

Why do you think it is so hard to get the game to run? Think it needs a host?

Probably because the player pool is sparse and unaware. Didn't even realize they spread that game until recently.

I've played the LCs PLO 3 of the last 4 times it ran. Its a great game, and is starting to get some momentum. If you're interested in playing, definitely call and put your name down a few days ahead of time. If people see theres a decent listing of names, people will be more willing to commit to heading down there on Tuesday nights, and the game will become a reliable, regular occurrance. Having a large list ahead of time may also entice more of the NL players to give it a shot.
