Room manager will be Roger, some of you may know who he is. We have some dealers coming from the Isle, but I can't say how many yet. There will be a few from Coushatta as well, and some from elsewhere. Everything will depend on who accepts our offers. There are quite a few internal transfers, mainly table games dealers that have poker experience.

Any word on a Poker Rate? Staying at your property tonight and going to have to drive to the isle once the wife goes to bed. Come on July 1st!

Nothing yet, but we are finishing up getting all the amenities together for the room - food, massage service, poker rate, etc. We hope to have everything set up in the next few days. I'll post it as soon as we do.

That's the Roger. He's been with L'Auberge in table games for the past four years. Many of our internal transfer dealers will be familiar faces as well. In addition to those coming from the Isle and a couple from Coushatta, we have several table games dealers that were poker dealers at Harrah's Lake Charles before Hurricane Rita and will be moving over to the poker room.

I am planning to stop over on the 4th or 5th, unless of course I am barred from playing by then.

Hadn't heard from them....so how's it looking? Think we'll have to ban you?

I have know Roger for over 10 years he is very player friendly. He wants to have player input, He will spread any game. I hope they spread 1-3 no limit. He also said in the future that there will be button straddle, buying the button, what ever the players want he will try to make happen.

He has had the pick of the litter when it came to hiring, large portion of dealers are well experience.

I actually put in an app here for room manager, but didn't hear back.

Glad to hear you have the players in mind as you open your room, sounds like you're doing things the right way. GL to you with your opening.

He has been working hard and doing a great job of getting everything together. We are going to allow straddles, double straddles, button straddles, kill or 1/2 kill games, buying the button. We'll also be able to spread mixed games, Badugi, half HE/PLO...whatever the players want (and whatever we have room for) we'll try to make it happen.

Unfortunately no 1/2 or 1/3. NL will start at 2/5. But otherwise, we will spread whatever we get interest for. PLO should have a regular game, running far more often than the Isle. With only seven tables though it will be difficult to have a large variety of games. I've heard from a few people that are looking for a regular mid-limit game, like a 10/20 or 20/40. This is something I'd like to bring back and have daily if possible. If you are interested, let me know.

I apologize that we didn't get back to you. We try to promote from within as much as possible, and this was the case here. We had enough qualified applicants that we interviewed internally only. I assumed our hiring team called everyone to let them know this.

Since you only have 7 tables, have you decided what games you are going to spread initially?

If so can I start getting on the interest list for games now?

I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there and official press release for the opening of the room or is it just word of mouth?
2) Will the rake be an hourly rate or a pot percentage?

Thanks

just seeing this thread and thought it was all rumors...so glad to hear this. Although the 2/5 at Isle might be the easiest game in the state i hate the casino. Looking forward to it. Could you guys spread 10/20 razz?? or a 10/20 HORSE?

Since we are only seven tables, we'll be limited on what we can spread to start. In time, we will spread whatever there is interest for and we have a table for. For opening weekend, we'll probably start with what will be in demand from the majority of players. Something like three limit games, two 6/12s and a 10/20, three NLHE games, probably 2/5 and maybe 5/10, and a PLO. Nothing is set in stone and there are some other considerations, but it'll be fairly basic to start.

All I can say is get there early...lists will be deep.

No official press release, mostly word of mouth and 2+2. We did a little TV ad (yours truly), put out a little information to the media and the poker community has taken care of the rest. I have a little more detailed information I'll post here by this weekend.

Rake in limit games will be pot rake, 10%, $5 max. NL and PL games will be $7/half hour time rake. We are debating on whether or not to make the 2/5 NL game pot rake, but for now it is set up as a time rake game. I'd like the 2+2 community's feedback on this one. Opinions?

I play 2/5 about once a week at the Isle. Great games, great action. It's still have it's niche, but I am optimistic that we will be the place for all the action.

Once we are settled in, I'd love to have two things - a regular mixed game and a regular mid-limit HE game. So far there's decent interest in both. If we have enough to spread any game that is asked for, we will. One minor glitch though...for whatever reason we forgot to add Stud8 to our list of games for state approval. So a true HORSE game will have to wait a few months. But we are ok to spread virtually everything else for mixed games, including Badugi.

If anyone is interested in a regular game like this, get with Roger or myself after we open and we can talk about setting up something. Thanks to everyone here for all the input and ideas.

Since I imagine you're going to have to pull a decent percentage of your players from Lafayette/Beaumont/Houston to get these games going, starting a twitter account for the poker room would be a great tool for ensuring players interested in playing these games can easily find out if they're running or the scheduled time if you're going to do something like Wednesday night 10/20 HORSE @ 6 pm.

Also, mark me down as interested in your mixed and mid-limit games now that I'm in Lafayette.

We are working on getting the poker room Facebook and Twitter accounts. You are right, great tools for getting information out. Thanks for the input.
