Actually, I had a look, this is the best motel in the area I've stayed at
https://en.tripadvisor.com.hk/Hotel_...e_Bavaria.html
but for this you need a car (15-20 min drive to the casino)

I live in Hongkong now, but this is unrelated to pokers. I've been in Macau several times but I don't want to deter this thread too much. It's only a great option if you play 200/400+ (HKD)
thank you very much again. I won't deter. would love to here about Macau dome other time. just a place to say I played. 200/400 (25/50 USD)..is a little higher than I play. I'm 2/5 NO & 5/10 NL and occasionally 10/20 NL.

I will take all your suggestions into consideration.

on Berlin, I can imagine long lists and I heard the rake is bad. Again, just another place to say I played and sight see. Yea I know it will be cold. If not then (January Berlin) I might hit berlin/Prague in December for the Pokerstars festival.

anyways, I'm drifting off topic. sorry about that and thanks for your insight and help.

Definitly looking forward to Kings...

Definately with Shuttle - there is no direct Train connection Praha - Rozvadov - and u have to take 2-3 different Trains to arrive in the nearest city so its also complicated but definately cheaper I think Shuttle from Praha is around the 100€ and with Train it wont be more then 10€ though a little bit complicated.

If u haven´t booked yet a Hotel it will be really hard to get one in Rozvadov as long as u not a Highroller or have some contacts withhin the Casino - u can check the common Hotel Sites or even Airbnb this German Citiys which are directly at the border to Rozvadov - "Waidhaus" or "Vohenstrauss" - if u find something in this Citys u are just a 15 min Shuttle drive away from the Casino so pretty decent.

Feel free to ask me for more if anybody needs some Information, i am in the Casino for quite some time now and can help

thank you very much...

I'd probably just do the shuttle. No I hadn't booked it yet because the amount on the Kings site was high, plus I didn't know all the logistics of transport from Praha, how long I was gonna stay.

No I am not a high roller & do not have a connection unfortunately...oh well lol.

Thank you for nearest.other cities in the German border to check put for places to.stay.

How is the new hotel that was just built?

I was looking to play Cash game and the Euro Collosus primarily as well as check off, playing at Kings as well as WSOP-EUROPE.

I was in Praha 2 yrs ago and had a blast but wasn't there long enough(only 3 nights) to take a shuttle to Rozvadov.

I am planning 1 week this time...

Is it worth renting a car, since Rozvadov is in middle of nowhere ?

sorry for the Q's...maybe I should be sending a DM

thanks

Hey np u can ask as much as u want and i am happy i can help out

Renting a Car is imo only worth if u like to do some other stuff beside playing poker / sleeping - then i would say its worth it. If u just come for the grind then its not really worth it - the shuttle from Casino will bring u to almost any place like i suggested to u like Waidhaus / Vohenstrauss etc if u find accomodation there somewhere.

The new Hotel / Casino is really amazing, Kings again did a great job IMO to make the place even bigger and better then it already was, its by far the best place in Europe at the moment to play poker(obv u can argue venues like Barcelona etc have a lot more things to offer besides poker, but if u stay for the grind its definately Rozvadov). And still if u like to hit the road in your freetime u can still visit really nice cities which are close like Plzen(65km away) which for example was 2015 Europes Cultural City of the year(i dont know the correct english word :P) or Prague of course(150 km away)

If u can write me Private messages u can try, i am not sure how it works here for more Qs if u like

For what it's worth, this thread is exactly for the kinds of helpful questions and answers you guys have been giving. It's helpful to the entire community, so no need to go to private/direct messages.

Not sure about the price of the shuttle as I never used it, just hearsay, but it might be cheaper to take a train from Prague to Pilsen (those run frequently) and negotiate there with a taxi driver.
This also an option from Weiden, coming from the German side, although the taxis there will be metered and have prices like in the US, but since it's shorter it could still be ok.
As I mentioned before you should only come from Prague if you have a good reason for that, otherwise travel from Munich or Nuremberg is much faster.

I was told very recently that the shuttle costs €110 from Nuremburg airport to the casino.

Only travel from Nuremberg is faster then Prag(110kmish) - then comes Prague and then comes Munich if u want to know it exactly, plus if u come from Munich there is a ****load of traffic on the Road which will make it even more slower.
The problem with Nuremberg is, i guess u come from the US via London maybe or somewhere else, that most Airports not fly to Nuremberg frequently, so imo Prague is always the best option

And ye the Cheapest Way to Rozvadov is Probably train Prague > Plzen and then a shuttle to the Casino which cost from Plzen 60€. But paying 50€ more from Prague with a shuttle without the stress of driving to the Central Train Station etc is i guess is worth it :P

Cash games were epic when I went last year.

You'll find anything you want running at the wee hours. High rollers a plenty.

Yes casino takes euros. The exchange rate isn't too bad either.

Have fun!

Okay....it's a long shot but I'll ask anyway.

My girlfriend has won entry and accommodation into the 200k tourney next weekend.

She has a flight booked to Nuremberg next Friday (24th November) landing about 11:30pm

But the only travel option she can find to get to Kings Casino Rozvadov is the hotel shuttle which they are quoting €110 each way.

Might sound cheap but the tourney is only €175 so having to pay €220 for transfers is too much.

Is anyone else making the same trip and happy to share shuttles or does anyone have any other transport ideas?

Thanks

After 11:30pm forget it. Cheapest option: Stay the night in a cheap hostel in Nuremberg, or at the train station if you don't mind punks/homeless folks LOL (they are harmless, police is not far away), then in the morning go with the train and bus to Vohenstrauß via Weiden, (25 €)

https://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/qu...fasScrollDir=2

taxi from there (should be under 20 €)
Bring a translator app though

Alternatively go to Weiden by train and casino shuttle from there. Not sure but should be a lot cheaper

Okay, an update and another desperate plea...

My GF has now decided to stay overnight in Nuremberg and is hoping that maybe someone will be passing Nuremberg on Saturday 25th November morning/lunchtime and can give her a lift to Rozvadov.

If you can help please get in touch asap as time is running out

(I have seen Jollo's response above and have contacted him, but unfortunately he is no longer able to help (thanks for trying Jollo))

Hi all, I'm looking into organizing a poker vacation to this venue. A bit hesitant at the moment, could you guys please comment on the following points?
1. Rake on cash games caps at a whopping €20, is that beatable?
2. Watching a vblog last night about the venue, gal said smoking is permitted in the poker room? That sounds terrible if true.
3. My understanding is the casino is in the middle of nowhere. Is there anything to do walking distance if you get tilted?
4. Is the restaurant good value for money? decent quality? any other restaurants nearby?
5. Are the gym and spa as nice as they look?
6. Any other consideration?

Thanks a bunch!

Edit - is it English at the table only? :-)

I haven't been in ages, so my info may not be fully up to date.
1. This rake is very high. Whether it is beatable or not depends ofc on a variety of factors including stakes, stack depths, your playing strength and the strength of the competition. IME most of the 1/3NL, 2/2PLO tables are probably beatable long term because of terribad players, other stakes it depends
2. Apparently they have banned it from the poker room (more like a poker hall) now, but probably still a lot of smoke from adjacent areas.
3. A big forest, another casino (only slots AFAIK), a thai massage place, a supermarket and a couple brothels a bit further away. No experience with either of them. Other than that, not a lot
4. It used to be good at least
5. No idea, never stayed at the hotel

Forget English only, I think officially English, Czech and German are allowed, but it's not uncommon to hear other languages. It's like that in many European casinos.

Thanks a lot for your reply, those answers + €270 return shuttle ... it seems they do not cater for the Brits at all. It's probably really good for Germans that are nearby and do not have decent poker rooms / rake in Germany.
