Anyone know how exactly the denny crum will work? I.E. Main is 675, with 10% for charity. Is it 600+75, 10% of the 600 to charity? I feel like there is probably some percentage of the prize pool withheld also for the house as is the norm at HSI.

Did the 10/20 mix ever go yesterday?

I rarely play tourneys but the people I know that do, say the Denny Crum sucks because too much is taken out.

I think it goes off sparingly. Also I think the regs don't like to play FLHE or razz so I think the mix is O8, stud, and stud8.

I wish a full 10/20 horse game ran, I tried to get one going last time I was there with no luck.

Surprised at all the hate for the Horseshoe. I play there about three/four times a week and have nothing bad to say about it. In fact I still believe that overall (action being the biggest factor) it is the best option for cash players in this area. Hollywood in Lawrenceburg has better tournaments if thats your preference.

I dont mind Horseshoe, but the last time I was there, they were still recovering from the flood, and there was a musty smell in the room, mainly from the table tops. If it was closer, I am sure I would be there more. As it is, Hollywood is an easy half hour drive for me.

There wasnt a musty smell coming from the table tops because the boat itself wasnt flooded. The pavilion, loading ramp to boat and the vallet were flooded. The boat didnt flood.

I dont know what else could explain it... There was definetly an odor on the tables.....A few others complained about it as well....Not a huge deal.. it wasnt overwhelming, but it was noticable.

Ok. I think that horse has been beat to death now.... I had asked this question a bit earlier in the thread, but did not get a response yet, so trying again.... For the Denny Crum Poker Open, they are having day1A and 1B... now from what I have seen on here, and heard while playing at Hollywood, the consesus seems to be that whoever is running the poker room down there is not doing such a great job, and therefore, the turnout may suffer for this event....I am basically wondering if anyone thinks there may be a need for a day 1B?

Heading over there in a few hours to dominate some 1/2 nl. Early in the day i'll probably be at a table full of old guys regs that love to see flops but have little gamble. If they dont hit the flop they are done, and it's pretty obvious when they do connect. They almost never raise pre-flop, yet limp call over half the time. My favorite thing about them though, is that they usually think stop pair is the stones. They are almost never folding top pair to a river value bet, esp on a fairly dry board. Also in the same situation, but you have nothing, they are folding a big river bet most of the time. Donk/nit I guess is the term. Alot of guys I play with don't like these kind of tables because theres not a ton of action, but I clean up against them. Also by the time the evening mix of decent to good regs, casual donks, and (my fave) the guys looking to get drunk and gamble, arrive, I have a nice stack and am captaining the table. Obv the action in racheted up at this point. Lots of straddles, and preflop raising. Many raised pots are still going 6 and 7 handed. At this point its pretty much time to put it in cruise control. Tighten up pre-flop range just a tiny bit. Almost never slow play, or bluff. Know players to avoid and players to exploit. Value everyone all day long, win all the money. this is ideal situation and there are plenty of days I lose my 2 $300 buy ins and go home. But this very basic blueprint works pretty damn well for me.

Bump for feedback on the Denny Crum open events. Anyone plan on playin this?

looked up results from previous years and all the fields seem to be very small and almost not worth making the trip down.

Will this year be any different because its in August?

I'm thinking of playing some of the events that do not start at noon (noon events have more taken out for charity). I also am likely going to go play the main.

Does anyone know or have a link to what games were spread during the last wsop circuit event that ran at HSI?

And I would love to see any mix game tourny, HORSE/8game/10game or plo8 if possible.

The only ones that don't start at noon are the turbos and mega sattys from what I'm reading.

Went well, my table had four drunks from a Gary Allen concert. They were down to gamble and reload. Got coolered and had to reload myself early in the night. Still walked out with a nice profit.

Looks like I'll be heading down as long as there should be a respectable turn out for the event.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but for the mega sattys (i know there is only 3) but can you play multiple ones and just get the cash for it if you win multiple seats?

Thanks.

You really can't play draw games in Indiana? What kinda wacky rule/law is that?

Would anyone want to start a plo8 game at HSI, or have them run a plo8 tourny, if they are even allowed to play that game .

And 10/20-20/40 stud8 would be sweet, but I don't think any one likes that game but me .

I haven't been there on a Sunday for a long time, but they used to run $10-20 HOSE on Sundays. Holdem, O/8, Stud and Stud/8. I have no clue if it still goes.
