if every other poker room in the country can do this I don't see why this room can't[/QUOTE]

There are many factors that are included in the rake.

I dont understand your quote about every other room in the country, when there are many rooms that do it different. Some rooms drop a rake even if the players chop, some take a 3rd dollar on $15, and some rakes are as high as $6 with a $2 jackpot drop.

I can assure you that we are doing our best at looking into our rake. Us spreading the 5% $4 max rake on all games 10-20 and higher is an example.

what are the odds of it filling up right away? do you think showing up at 8 is necessary? or would showing at 10/1030 still be acceptable?

I'll probably still go early to play a little 1-3 beforehand... Ive always wondered this, why 1-3 instead of 1-2?

We have a $125 fat stack the second Saturday of every month. Players start with 6k chips and play 30 min levels.

We also have a $235 fat stack on the last Saturday of every month. Players start with 10k chips and play 40 min levels.

Both tournaments start at 10am and registration is open for 3 levels.

Don't most places do 10k starting stacks? For a "fat stack" I would kind of thing the stacks would actually be, fat...You're starting with 120BB, and then already down to 60BB after the first round? Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't seem very fat.

I played there in a different tournament there we started with 4,000 with 20 minute levels at 25/50 for 80 blinds. I do think these lower buyins tournaments should have bigger starting stack considering the blinds will still be going up so quickly and it wouldn't change the length of the tournament very much. I'd estimate about 10 hands dealt in a 20 minute blind period which means the blinds go up about every 1 and 1/4 orbit... very fast. If not a bigger starting stack then 30 minute blinds would be better also. I do like the 40 minute blinds in the $235 fat stack though. What how many players does the $235 usually get and average pay out for top 3 places?

When I started back in July the $235 fat stack started with 6k in chips. I created the $125 fat stack and kept it similar to the old $235. We then increased the starting chips in the $235 from 6k to 10k.

We average around 90-100 players for both tournaments.

Progress!! I think everyone can admit that the poker room is taking huge steps in the right direction! 90-100? that's a pretty good turn out, I may have to check it out.
