Yes, Dirty Hairy your are very close.

The rake sounds terrible, how disappointing.

$6 max rate will make pretty much any LHE game they actually spread unbeatable. 4/8 is already tough to overcome the rake at $4+$1BBJ+$1tip.

Is it $6+$1BBJ+$1tip (total $8) or $5+$1BBJ= $6 (+$1tip) [total $7]?

Both are bad but obviously one is worse. Maybe my days of the train to AC aren't over yet.

My understanding was $6 + $1BBJ + tip. Assuming they have a BBJ, which I hope they don't.

How much are train tickets from the Harrisburg area, that the extra dollar rake might not be covered?

South. And the trip to AC would be to find a 10/20 LHE or bigger. playing 3/6 with that rake isn't fun or profitable, imo.

So is there any word on the "test run" I heard about for the 11th? Hours, open to the public, etc?

A friend and I wanted to head up to check it out that day, but don't want to waste an hour drive each way if it's not happening/not open to the public

Got an update. Apparently the test run is this Sunday from 12-8, open to the public.

Hope to be there and win some monies at 2/4, hopefully it isn't impossible to get a seat :\

I've never been there up til now as I had no desire to play slots. Does anyone know if I'll need some player's card for comps (assuming they do have comps) and should I plan to go there beforehand to get one?

From my limited experience all but one casino in which I have played poker used the same card that you get to play slots.

no bbj. so you're ONLY losing $210 each hour from the table! :/ Considering 10% to $6, plus $1 tip. Oh well. It just makes $2/$5 just that much more appealing!

$6 max rake really sucks. I'm normally a limit guy, but at that rake I don't think a limit game would be profitable under 5/10.

5/10 is the level I really want anyway, but it's pretty unlikely. After their expansion is done (sometime next year I assume...?) we can expect a much better selection.

Even though I'm not a big fan of NL cash games, that's probably going to be the only solid choice. Is everybody expecting the 1/2 NL games to be at least as good as AC? You gotta assume there will be a bunch of first-time players.

I understand they will be spreading 4/8 LHE and skipping 3/6 completely so I'm not sure if there's enough separation between 4/8 and 5/10 to spread both.

I think it's safe to say, especially at first, the games will be soft, both LHE and NL. I'm just hoping the room will be busy enough long term for them not to want to take back floor space for something else more profitable than poker.

If they get a consistent LHE game 6-12 or bigger I will be there pretty frequently. Anything below that the rake will be brutal.

Unfortunately, any limit games above 4/8 will probably never appear until they expand. Most recreational players nowadays want to play 1/2 NL, and 12 tables is pretty limited. Boy I tell ya, if they ever spread an Omaha H/L table, I would be there every day!

If anyone hears any news or rumors about the proposed expansion, please let us know. I haven't been there in a few months -- they haven't actually started construction, have they?

I've never been there, but I heard from someone I work with today that something has started already, and they were shooting for sometime next year?

Again, I've never went there since I'm ONLY interested in poker, so I'm kinda excited for the trip Sunday. Even if it's packed and I don't get a seat, it'll be neat to hang out for a bit, then my friend and I will probably just head off to do something else

I'm tempted to go to the test run tomorrow, but they probably still have some kinks to work out.

I'm afraid there will be some issues that require the floor (like any normal day in a poker room), and the poker room manager will be like this:

Now they are saying they are going to put off expansion until they see what the demand is like.

Dang. If they haven't even broken ground yet, then God knows how long it will take whenever they get started.

Might be good for poker in the long run. I think poker will be there most popular table game by far. I'd be surprised if the poker room isn't packed every weekend.

Once they see they have a big demand for poker, chances are the poker room will be given more tables in the new building.
