Nice playing with you guys.
Yeah that was weird. Pistol was not on his best game. I think players with a clue make him very nervous. I had to talk him into not giving me the pot (yet).

I left about 2pm, up $106. The guy on my right moved to 2/5 around 1pm, racking up 1200. I don't know if you were still there to see the call he made of seat one, pushing all in on an open end straight draw..big stack had KdTd with one diamond on the flop and no pair. He dragged a 300-400ish pot with king high when the draw hit air.

Still glowing from my 777 fold. My last pot won was against the poor short stacked SB when we both had aces in the blinds. I rivered a flush. I've been charmed lately.

See you guys soon.

Yeah smackey I was there for that. Word is that guy started getting stuck in the 2-5 game. A guy sitting with him told me he was down about 400 fast. You can't hit cards like that guy did forever. Plus I have a theory in progress, about how he and a few others get paid off so much...next time we sit together we'll discuss.

Obviously a new table can't be created until that time. But it'd be helpful if there was already a decent list ready to go.
So did an O8 game ever develop on Friday? Any on Saturday? I may not be able to do Sunday now. An appt. I had today had to be rescheduled for tomorrow. If I do - it will later in the afternoon.

On a completely different angle, what casinos in PA, if any, are running SNG's or MTT's?

It didn't get going on Friday. We had 4 names, one of which was the guy who started the list at 9am and went home when busting in 1/2NL.

No one has tourneys yet in PA. The gaming commission had separate licenses for that, and some got them in early, some not. It seems like each place is saying "after the expansion." I think Mohegan may have been talking about as early as late September, but it was talk. Check the individual threads for better information.

Depending what part of PA you are in, Delaware Park in Delaware may be close, and they have daily tournaments.

If you check out the mohegan sun thread it seems like they will be hosting SNGs by the end of this month and depending on how they manage that, MTT by mid october.

We're (a co-worker of mine from Oklahoma moved here for the same job) all moved in, but we won't actually start until next week. We got to take a tour of the casino, and it is really really nice. I couldn't believe the view of the landscape surrounding the race track. The poker room looked busy, and it was only 5pm so that's a good sign.
Anyone got a recommendation for things to do in the Hershey/Harrisburg area aside from casino life? We've been to "The Gas Station" and "Arooga's" so far. Specifically, I would love to find a bar that has karaoke and a decent crowd too .

I can't tell you much about karaoke, there may be some on the other side of the river. A lot more nightlife on the "west shore" which just means the wealthier suburbs across the river. Within Harrisburg, you have some good ethnic restaurants, and a great independent brewpub. Appalachian Brewing Company (aka ABC) which also gets quality live music.

And as you're new to the area, you MUST go down the road a couple miles to Hershey and ride through Chocolate World, at least once. It's free, and you get a sample of chocolate at the end.

Of course, visit Gettysburg if you have any interest in history.

If you play guitar, get to Lemoyne. It seems to have more guitar shops per capita than any place in the state. And if that happens to be your thing, you're not too far from the Martin Guitar Factory, which is one of the best factory tours ever, even if you don't play guitar.

Played 1/2 Fri 8:30 PM -2AM.
My 3rd trip in the last 10 days. It's much better. No wait. The dealers are decent.
The discussion was they started comps too. $0.40 per hr 1/2.

I'll believe the comp thing when they are in hand. Where did that info come from?

I'll roll in late tonight when it's not very busy. I'll ask the night floor person about this.

Well I didn't make it down last night so I did not get to ask. I did however, end up at Mohegan @ Pocono. I am probably posting a new thread for comparing the two.

I checked today and there is still no hourly compensation of any sort for poker players.

There is however a rumor going around about a forty cent per hour stipend - Oz at 2/5 was talking about it but he then said that he had just heard that from another player.

No points yet, and prob not soon coming. And a $6 rake. Yippee.

Sorry, I don't start until next week. If and when I get permission from management at the casino and the mods here I'll be glad to start answering questions. I won't be able to do anything until I hit the floor next week though.

I look forward to meeting you guys as well, but please make sure you keep those two sentiments separate as I won't have say in matters such as that.

I know we discussed this last week. Any possible interest in an Omaha h/l for Sunday? 11 am or noon to try and a list started? Does Omaha ever get going there?

How far away is the casino from the Turnpike? I'm going to NJ next weekend and was thinking about swinging by on the way back to Pittsburgh.
