The new cards are a joke. You have to expose half the card to see the suit. In addition, the non clay (plastic) tourney chips are odd as well. They don't stack properly.

I come here a couple times a year when visiting family in the area. I constantly wonder why the 2 / 5 NL regulars don't play 2 / 4 LHE until the BBJ is hit.

Last I checked the BBJ was at $730k - seems like a better use of time than passing around money to each other day-in and day-out.

Can't stand the new cards, either. The old ones were way better.

As for 2/5nl players playing 2/4, that seems a little odd. Would be cool to run 5/10 or 10/20 or something, though.

I'm just hoping someone hits the jackpot so we can get PLO8 running again.

According to bravo, that $737k bad beat finally hit in the last day or so. Qualifier was pretty high at quad 10s. Does anyone know the hands that were a part of the jackpot or have any other details?

Also, qualifier has been lowered to quad 7s.

Also 5s5c at showdown.

From what I was told, one of the two big winners was all in for the $11 he started the hand with lol. Was told the loser of the hand was not a reg. I'll get more info this weekend.

I was in the area for work last week the 29th-31st and stopped for lunch. Looks like the room is at least open and games are running per bravo.

I didn't get a chance to go in the room as I only had an hour for lunch.

I played it last week and they said it was only the second time it ran. Definitely a fun game - it was playing pretty big.

I'll be playing here next week as I'm in town for work. Are the $1/$2 and $2/$5 NL games uncapped? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, obviously too late to reply, but if anyone else cares...

Buy-ins capped at $300 and $1000 respectively. Betting is NL.

Very nice trip in here the past two days. Checked Bravo and found a 5/5 game running and was pretty excited but when I went to check out the table EVERYONE was very deep and I didn't have my full BR with me ... very disappointing. The table was even goading me to come over when a seat opened up.

The 1/2 action was excellent. It was a pretty busy Thursday night according to the Floor and I had plenty of action. There was one guy that I sat on the right of that seemed to be a pretty good player. Other than that I think the table was below average to very soft ... including a guy who was definitely a newbie. After the tables combined twice I ended up leaving with over $1000 on my $300 BI.

After a great day at Hershey Park I was back at the poker room and they had a 1/2 PLO H/L game going. I thought it might be fun and it was a great game. Again, only `1-2 players worried me and the rest played very straight forward with almost zero 3-betting PF. I pretty much treaded water all night and the game ended with five way all in that I wasn't a part of ... fun fun ... recommend this room for sure if you are in the area. GL

Does 1/2 PLO8 run with any consistency here? Always liked to play but that was years ago at this point

The 5/5 game is most times a giant rake trap full of nitty regs passing small pots back and forth. Likely could have higher winrate playing 1/2, even with the rake.

Before the huge BBJ last? year it was running every Friday, but it's basically dead. There was a month where 1/3 PLO was running occasionally, and 1/2 PLO8 went off a couple times, but usually the list sits at ~5 people and it never opens.

I don't usually post, however being a 2/5 regular at Hollywood who has played in almost all the 5/5 games this year on Thursday/Friday/Saturday & Sunday(high hand promotion - game went twice) I just wanted to say I would strongly disagree with the assessment of 5/5 being a rake trap or it being a game full of nitty regulars passing small pots back and forth. In fact during the game this last Saturday there were at least two to three pots over 2K while I was at the table. We have seen 3K to 4K pots semi-regularly and there was almost a 7K pot in the final Saturday of May game.

The $2,500 max buy in has really created some unique deep stack poker spots and the $500 minimum has eliminated a large number of short stack players at the table. It has made for some exciting poker to say the least.

We had the idea at the end of March to run a 5/5 game the last Saturday of each month to be attractive to the 2/5 regulars who wanted to enjoy higher stakes as 5/10 only ran about three times I remember in 2017. After the April end of the month game it has gone off much more often than preferred going on almost all Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays. I don't think the room can sustain 5/10, we tried this in 2016 and it created a dry barren wasteland for over a half a year. Hopefully we cut back a little on 5/5, especially on Thursdays as I feel this is hurting the upcoming 2/5 community which is already very small.

Anyway if you are looking for some challenging and interesting poker I would advise anyone to check out the 5/5 game one of these days, at times it can be tough to get in the initial game but if you can stomach the wait the payoff can be worth it. 1/2 will oftentimes not cross the max pot rake threshold of $60, whereas 5/5 will almost cross that threshold the majority of the hands that are open raised. Even if you are a superstar 1/2 player you aren't going to see the potential win rates you can see at 5/5 playing well.

I didn't initially comment either. I would highly doubt that any 2/5 or 5/5 game is a rake trap. Most rooms don't like those stakes since the hands generally take longer since there is more thought put into the Turn and River.

As I stated, I didn't play in the game but from what I was hearing the game is anything but nitty. If you want to take anything from a very brief visiting impression.
1) The game is too deep compared to the 1/2 player pool. I didn't see enough deep stacks at the 1/2 tables .. nor the type of player .. who would take a shot at that game, especially with it being 5/5. I would've played the game Thursday if I had my BR with me.
2) Related to point #1, when the player pool isn't deep the game turns towards a home game feel to it and that leads to any 'newbie' getting targeted by the regs. I would've sat down with my normal $800 2/5 BI and had to adjust my game to 'everyone' having me well covered. And while that typically leads to being called lighter since some players will call more often when their whole stack isn't threatened, it opens the door to more all-in spots where a newbie might say good bye to 3-4 1/2 BIs in one hand. That's hard to swallow for most.

I wish I had been more prepared Thursday night and I think it would've been a fun, potentially profitable session.

To offer a contrast, I played The Rivers this past Saturday night. Eleven tables of 1/3 and 'every' table had 1-2 players with at least $1500 in front of them. One guy ran it up to $3600 before punting off $1k and leaving. Now there's a room that could handle a 5/5 game .. and yet I was told that no one even wants to play 2/5 because the 1/3 games are so soft, which I agree with. Why play deeper against 'the best' when there are so many soft 1/3 players wandering around. Now there's a rake trap at 5&2, but the above average player will not have to worry about that as the soft play will make up for it. GL

What is the nit’s go to for food here? I hate giving casinos any money, especially for overpriced food. (I was at Maryland Live last month, and they were promoting “lollipop wings,” which were literally regular wings with an extra bit of bone [?] left on as a handle. Only a casino would promote an extra bone.)

Caveat: I keep keto
