No Omaha yet, and i don't have high hopes for seeing it soon at Hollywood PA.

I have made the LONG trek to rivers in pittsburgh to play omaha - they have a great 1/3 PLO that runs regularly which is pretty much a 2/5 as the regs sort of tacitly agree to make the 3 a red 5 to avoid sloppy numbers, essentially making it a 1/5, which plays exactly like a 2/5.

We do seem to have about 5 2p2'ers interested in omaha here, but as of yet havn't been able to spread it.

I am real close to setting up a home PLO in the Hershey area and contacting the guys in this thread that wanted to play, if i do i will PM you as well.

As for tourneys, today i heard from a dealer that they will be starting "next month" - i don't know if i believe it tho; If i find out more i will post it.

Ganaram, man Pittsburgh is far. I mean ridiculously far. If you're going to commit to that trek, you may as well go to AC. Mohegan Pocono is much closer, but you know that. No tolls up 81 either.

I'll be hitting Hollywood tomorrow. Had a rough session Friday when I was just hitting strong 2nd best time after time. MEh- gotta lose sometimes, I can honestly say it's only my 2nd losing session there in about 15, so I really can't complain. But still, I'm going to hit Mohegan more often, unless I happen to be near Harrisburg. Mohegan's MTTs start Nov 1, and they will have a Thursday night HOSE tourney. Seriously. How cool is that?

I actually headed up there yesterday a little later than I wanted 3:30 pm. Just the normal tables. Maybe 5-6 tables of 1/2 n/l, 1 table of 2/5 n/l, and one 3/6 lhe. I put my name on for the 3/6 & the 1/2 n/l. I ended up geting seated at the 3/6 and just stayed put. Played till nearly 9:00. Players were generally bad some limping in almost very hand. Got sucked out on a few times but still I made a nice little profit. By 7:45 table began losing players. I asked the dealer about tournaments - no idea. Claims they arn't being told anything. Several of us began to have a nice little conversation about Hollywood's problems - no comps, lack of limit games, tourneys. Several people claimed the action is drying up. There were a LOT of empty tables and dealers sitting around with nothing to do. You can't run SNG's? I really wish Mohegan was closer.

What games and limits should I expect to see on a typical Friday evening/night? Is it just 1/2 NLHE, 2/5 NLHE, and 3/6 LHE?

Hi all,

I'm a 1/2NL player who'll be passing through on Friday between midmorning to lunchtime, looking to kill a couple of hours at HC. How busy is the place likely to be around that time?

Also, anyone know what the typical morning limits on craps are?

The room usually isn't full on Friday's until evening/real late afternoon.

Craps limits seemed to always be $10 except on busy nights/weekends.

Anybody feel like they have RELIABLE information on when the room will move and if/when donkaments will begin?

At this point I don't think you can find someone to give you reliable information. Rulings, etc. change every time I visit this room. I wouldn't believe anything tbh.

QFT.

When I was there yesterday at a 1/2 table, a guy had missed 1 or 2 rounds of blinds. His 1st hand back was in the big blind, and the dealer made him throw a $1 SB into the pot. The dealer said it was a "house rule".

Needless to say, the guy was pissed. But he didn't bother to call the floor over, he was like "***k it" and threw it in there.

Seriously, can that even be a "house rule"? Isn't it considered S.O.P. that the "missed small blind" doesn't apply if you return in the BB?

Since we are sharing ridiculous Hollywood happenings...

My buddy was at a 1/2 table last monday. The dealer flipped up the buttons first dealt card. After the button got his second dealt card face down, the dealer said he couldn't give the button the very next card on the deck (what would be the burn card). His explanation was that a person could not receive back to back cards from the deck. I had never heard this before.

I was told he then proceeded to take the 2nd card from the current deck. As my buddy was explaining the situation, I realized why I never heard this before....The dealer was now changing the flop. What the...

I don't remember, but it was sometime between noon-2 pm on Saturday. I'm trying to picture the floor layout in my head, and if I'm remembering it correctly, it was the one I've highlighted in red. When I was seated, I'm pretty sure the brush called it "Table 4".

If I were to arrive on Friday around 4pm what games would I find being spread and how many tables of each game? Also how long would the wait list be?

honestly, with Mohegan debuting MTTs in a couple weeks, and having a much better game selection, I doubt I'll cast a shadow at Hollywood much in the future. So much for my under-an-hour-local card room.

There was an interest list for 2/4 O8 on Friday night. There were 5 people on the list. I do not think Omaha has run at all yet.

I've neve seen anything but 1/2 nl; 2/5 nl & maybe-possibly 3-6 limit. It would seem 1/2 nl is the game of choice. Don't know why. But then again I'm still fairly new to real card rooms. I was mostly a SNG & O8 internet player and I'm still having a problem adjusting to live cash play. Which is maybe why I'm more comfortable playing limit which HC has a hard to spreading. I've been to Mohegan once already and would much rather play there. I just don't get the fascination with 1/2 nl. After the 3/6 limit which several of us waited so patiently for to open up the other night broke up, I reluctantly moved over to a 1/2. Just as much crazy play as on-line. I was so excited when I learned HC would be getting poker. Without SNG's or MTT's and no good limit games, I've quickly lost my enthusiasm for the place.

Usually during the day, there is a 3/6 table running. It is not always full but will normally run from about 10:30 til 5 until it breaks up. The regulars on that table do say it is hard to get a table going in the evenings. Headed up today to play.

That should have been a misdeal. If the first or 2nd card is turned over it is a misdeal.

Delaware park must be as close as Mount Airy. In fact, it's 72 miles from Hershey to DP. How come you guys are driving to Wilkes Barre/Scranton and Stroudsburg/ Mt Airy?

Yeah, it is about the same distance for me to DP as wilkes-barre - altho the drive to wb area is much better (there is no clean way to wilmington from hershey.)

Having said that tho, I have been hitting DP regularly since that post - the room is just way better in almost every category than ANY of the PA rooms (rivers in Pittsburgh maybe being an exception.)

DP has a great cardroom - and now with the tourney room it's even better. Great staff, great action, decent rake with two BBJ's.

And they spread PLO.....

Viks man it has been good to meet you, and see you on the floor.

Last couple of sessions the room has been running real well.
The rake still stinks but at least things are moving in the right direction.

With Parx opening next week, you might want to try that out. Definitely an easy drive once you get on the PA Turnpike.
