Definite improvement in the dealers I had at a short time tonight. I had been out of town since Thursday and hadn't played obv, but they seemed to be settling in a lot more.

There are two cashiers at the Poker Podium so I have no idea what your talking about. You can buy your chips with them or get seated and a chip runner will get them for you. The only time you have to go to the cashier is when you cash out your chips.

33: Four-Card Flop

If the flop contains 4 (rather than 3) cards, whether exposed or not, the dealer shall scramble the 4 cards face down. A floorperson will be called to randomly select one card to be used as the next burn card and the remaining 3 cards will become the flop. This is a TDA rule and from what the staff has told me they are a TDA room. http://www.pokertda.com/custom_posts...ial-tda-rules/

Right... So that's a perfectly fine rule; however it assumes that the four card flop is noticed right away before any action takes place, which is almost always what happens. This, however, was a special case in which the four card flop was not noticed right away and action took place on what was thought to be a 3 card flop. This is why you need sharp floor people who understand poker so they can make smart and fair rulings when a special case comes up. People who just roboticly recite the rule book aren't of much use because the rule book doesn't cover every single extenuating circumstance.

Agreed. It was definitely the action that caused the problems. The SB should have got his $10 bet back with the option to act again...... But the BB who folded and cards got mixed in the muck..... He would just have to get a pat on the back and a better luck next hand???

Yes, everything is running much better than earlier in the week. They still need more server girls and in general, the ones they have don't get it and aren't very good.

Also, kudos for the Poker Room management and employees for listening to their customers. Not naming names, but the guys who are in there all day are really good at what they do. Additionally, I suggested a few changes to the Bravo App earlier today, and they have already implemented them! That kind of turnaround is awesome... reminds me of Stars...

I'm thinking of heading down there tonight. What exactly is this Bravo App and what does it do?

iPhone (Android?) app that shows you what games are running and wait lists. Lots of casinos around the country are in the system.

It's a must have. "Bravo Poker Live" in the App Store and Android Market.

See you there!

Looks like you can now call ahead for reservations. Phone number and BBJ are on Bravo.

That's why the only sensible options are to burn the newly exposed card (best option imo) or to kill the entire hand. Anything else isn't really fair to the players.

I guess you could also reimburse BB (and from the tray... not out of the pot), refund SB's flop bet and rerun the flop. I don't care for this option and I'm guessing the house doesn't either, but at least it wouldn't be as outrageous as the decision that was apparently made.

Just got back from playing 1/2 or a few hours, and I have to say that the room is improving by leaps, and bounds.

Question about the traveling button:

Say bb, and sb both pay their blinds, but both get up to leave directly after the hand ends. They've both paid their blinds, and since the button has to move to a live spot, it moves to the next player who hasn't yet paid a blind.

The way the dealer figured this out was by putting the small blind on the dealer, and two big blinds in front.

Is this correct? I'm wondering because the new button didn't have to pay a bb that round.

there would be three big blinds two in front of the button and one on the button in this case. Next hand would have four blinds 3 small blinds and one big blind.

Unless I have a medical emergency, I"m never leaving in my SB because of this rule.

and the next hand has 5 blinds as the two players behind the blind still have to post their button blinds? and after this it is normalized?

... may god help you if the blinds get up a second time.

edit: not to mention it would also be shorthanded then.

edit 2: if the game went from 7 to 5 handed in the process of both blinds leaving (once), there would be one hand where everyone was a blind, and one player would be in a blind for 6 hands in a row

Yeah, the live traveling button seems like the classic case of the solution being worse than the original problem. In trying to correct a small inequity (having the same person act last twice in a row) you create a convoluted scheme that seems unnatural and is unfamiliar to most players. I can only imagine how it would work in PLO:

Dealer: Ok, we've 3 big blinds here and two small blinds here. Sir, you're first to act.
Player: Pot.
Dealer: Ok, let's see... that'll be $834.

Can anyone tell me how the 2/5 nl games have been playing? Like in terms of action stacks and players. Most of the 1/2 tables I've sat have been slightly nitty with avg to small stacks so I was curious
