I'm not familiar with the area at all and it looks like I would need to cross an interstate which might prove tricky.

Not sure how good it would be at 2 am. The road travels under the interstate so that isn't a concern. Uber maybe. Its all businesses you would walk and Broad St is fairly busy but that doesn't make it safe.

+1 to the Uber.

A few $ isn't worth the stress imo.

Thanks. I agree, Uber is probably best.

I'm a limit guy and the reason I'm coming here is I see it runs 4/8 instead of 3/6 like all other nearby casinos. Are there ever any higher LHE games? Like even just 5/10?

Not at the casino. There is a 20/40 HORSE game one Wednesdays and a 10/20 half kill O8 on Sundays at a club.

Gotcha thanks. Won't be any trouble filling 4/8 on the weekends I assume?

Unsure. Will ask. I do not play in the room.

Are there boxes at the casino that I can keep cash or chips in? Can I bring large denomination chips out of the casino with me?

Does any one else think it's in poor taste to have a promo with an MLK theme? Poor choices yet again out of management.

What do you mean an "MLK theme?" That there's a promo on that day? Unless I'm missing something, all it says on bravo is "MLK high hands." Would you be offended if there were promos on the Fourth of July?

Confused as well. We have run promos referencing New Years Eve, President's Day, Veteran's Day, Black Friday, Thanksgiving and I'm sure many others that I'm failing to remember. Not sure how this one is any different.

promos on a day off work, that doesn't offend me

dude, they're offering a promo on a day many are off work. if the casino ran something like 'black chip hot seats!' on said day, i could understand interpreting it as in poor taste. they're not. it isn't.

Any help with this please? Seems like it got lost with the MLK promo stuff.

I waited a bit before answering this one, bc I haven't used my account here in a while.

When the casino opened it had players accounts that worked like checking accounts. They're kind of a pain to use, but unlike money in a checking account, casino account funds are available 24/7/365.

You can take chips out of the casino; oranges ($1k) are the largest denomination without serial numbers (for tracking), afaik.

What are the breakdowns of where funds go in tournaments? All the tournament buy-ins were changed on Jan1. The new literature printed in the room does not include any info on how much of the buy-in is juice. The only number available on the printed literature is the percentage of the buy-in that goes to the Promo Fund.

Is the amount of juice for each tournament available anywhere?

First time in the room. Quite spacious and impressive!

The high hand promotion is pretty slick and the games that play deeper are great.

What's with all the people smoking in the inside area with the cigarette machine? I've seen people smoking there on my last three trips. Pretty annoying because it gets inside the casino and gives me a headache.

Yeah, the 2/5 game is usually pretty good on most days. I hear good things about the 2/2, and 5/5 PLO games also, but I don't play PLO unless I am in a big time gambling mood which is pretty much never.

Attention mixed game players:

A few other players and myself have recently started talking about getting a regular 10/20 limit mixed game going here on Tuesdays. Looking to try and get this started beginning today if anyone is interested!

Trying to get it going between noon and 5pm, but several of us are flexible to start later in the day if it works better.

Type of games included will be chosen based on agreement between those who show up to start the game that day. I'd imagine stud 8 and omaha 8, maybe razz would be locks. Possibly also big o, 2-7 triple draw, badugi, or anything else if/when approved by ohio gaming commission? Personally, I'm open to just about anything.

Would be fun to get away from the monotony of texas hold'em every so often! I'm a fish with very little experience in these games but I'm just looking to mix it up personally. Come on over and grab some free money!

I would love to play Big O, have never played it outside of vegas. I don't think hwood does a good job compared to the other rooms in state for getting non-holdem games going or started. I've always wondered why that is. It is possible that the market dictates it but it mildly annoying that Cincy will have two to five PLO games going on friday and saturday nights and we're lucky to get one going.

What kind of min/max bi would there be for the 10/20 mixed game?

Never played badugi, or big o, but I'd be in for stud/razz/lowball to break up the Hold 'em.

The 4/8 limit hold'em game that they run is listed on bravo as $40 min with no cap, so I'd imagine 10/20 mixed would be $100 min with no cap, but I'm not the one who decides. I think having a min of 10 big blinds is fairly standard in fixed limit games and it doesn't make much sense to cap the buy-in since there's only so much money that can be put in play in a given pot. It's my understanding that there's a 3 raise cap per street, but I don't have enough experience playing in these games to say for sure and I'm not an employee of this casino who can make the rules.

I'm just a messenger and was asked to post on here by another interested player to help spread the word, so unfortunately I have nothing concrete. I was told a couple of players have been discussing with management on getting more games approved, but I wasn't involved in that and I don't know what else is allowed other than the HORSE variants as of now.

Like you, I'm just looking to break up the hold'em. I've never played a hand of lowball in my life, but I'm willing to try if that's what everyone else wants to play and the casino allows it!

Definitely hear you.

I'd be another one in for it. If it does get going, just post here so that I'd know which Tuesday to sign up.

Sounds to me like people want to start immediately, so check the Bravo this Tuesday the 28th.

I hope that anyone interested just shows up. If everyone is waiting on everyone else to form the list, it'll never get going.
