Re: Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races (Charles Town, WV) -- FAQ updated 2011.12.18
I'd ask him to not sign while the player was in a hand. Same as any other language. I'm generally going to accommodate a player with a disability but I don't think you should be exempt from any rules because of it. I suppose it's possible that the guys standing was an interpreter who is relaying spoken info to the deaf player but I'm not really comfortable with that.

No flop no drop needs to be a rule with the time rake being eliminated from 2/5 and 1/2. Keep time rake at 5/10 for my fellow lagtards

Also will registration be open Friday for the Saturday MTT? I dont see a lot of the runners/ myself getting up and getting their early to avoid the lines. Except for the regs at the old daily tourneys that will fold down to 1bb waiting for aces.

Is it just me or has more 5/10NL guys moved over to 5/5PLO? I saw that game run on Tuesday. Is it possible it could run multiple times weekdays?

The friend could have easily seen my hole cards if he had wanted to. Noone, including me or the dealer, objected.
I just let the above situation slide by, in large part because I'm not too picky about rules when playing at a low stakes table. However, later I got to thinking. Could the above situtation have caused a bad beat jackpot to have been voided if one were to have been hit???

Was at the IP last summer and there was some convention of deaf people in Vegas (no joke). All week, people were trying to Sign at the table and all week the floor had to constantly step in and tell them to cut it out. Simply another variant of "english only" during hands . . .

Last week it ran I think 4 days. It seems they are still getting two tables of 5/10 most days also

Re: Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races (Charles Town, WV) -- FAQ updated 2011.12.18
It looked to me like poker every where surged before football ended. The economy seems slightly better. 2 years ago I went to Foxwoods on a Friday night and then were almost empty by midnight. Now the Bravo app is showing 40 tables even early in the week. Here, Sunday was dead 3 months ago after about 8, and now it seems busy much later already. All week long Bravo has been showing 15 or more tables going, even midday, so I would expect Sundays to be much better post football than it was a couple of months ago.

I think several of the 5/10 players that like to gamble a little more have switched over. Once you start playing with 4 cards, it gets addicting and tougher to go back to holdem.
It's gotten 2 tables a couple times on the weekends. Sometimes if you look at the list before the game is called, it'll show the table number the player is currently on. I believe they do this to make sure they are not breaking a 5/10 game just to open a PLO, without having enough of a list on 5/10 to maintain that game.

kcernest-
I'm pretty sure I played at your wife's table and she seemed to get more comfortable as her session progressed. It probably helped that I believe she busted opponents on back to back hands! It was a pretty relaxed and sociable table and she left a solid winner!

Re: Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races (Charles Town, WV) -- FAQ updated 2011.12.18
Looks like the Thursday Tournament was not advertised well. They only got 38 entries. They paid 5, the final table decided to pay the bubble 300 (from total prize pool). I got knocked out in 8th (2 off the money).
Sitting with a below average stack on the final table is no fun, when all you see is a hammer or its variants. Having an aggro donk three to your left didn't help my cause either, with him on the B, SB or BB there was no stealing allowed period.
Three tables left, I was down to my last 500 chip, all in - AJs, called by pocket 10's, Ace on the Flop. Sitting on 3100 on the BB, button shoves all in with pocket 6's, I wake up with A's, I flop a set and he turns a set. A couple of my hands hold and I was sitting on an average stack at the FT. I wish my run good lasted for a few hands on the FT.
All in for 5K (Level 2K/4K) in LP with A10s. BB, my nemesis, wakes up with Q's. Picked up a st8 draw and failed to reach there.

Thanks for the kind replies guys, that was her that took two back to back stacks. She had a good time for her first visit and she'll be back frequently I'm sure.
