There doesn't seem to be any info I could find on this site as to what runs and when.

What's the biggest NL games that run consistently and what is the rake like? Has anyone been during WPT...I assume they have bigger games during that time.

Any info would be great.

IIRC the rake was 5% cap 20 €, or cap 25 or 30 at higher limits. I haven't been in ages so I have no idea, IIRC the highest game was 2-4 when I was but that was ages ago on a November? weeknight. I'm sure 5/5 or 5/10 and maybe higher run at better times (summer, weekend, big events)

9 tables, average set-up; 2 or 3x 2/4 nlh, 2 or 3x 2/2 nlh, 1x 5/5 nlh, 1x 2/4 omaha h

Monday 30, Tuesday 100 and Thursday 50 rebuy mtt nlh starts at 8pm, these days only 3 or 4 cash tables left, after 10pm more will become available for cashgame

tables open at 8pm close at 3am weekdays, sat/sunday they open at 3pm

Rake 2/2 10%c10, 2/4 5%c20, 5/5 and up 5%c25

during tournament WPT and MCOP more tables for cash, minimum 5/5 up to 20/40

Hi Carpediem,

Amsterdam has by far the best action, in weekends you can play in some of the other state-owned casinos, but action is poor, except during local tournaments i would say (check Holland casino website). In general, the 5/5 nlh is 80% rec infested, some pretty good. 2/4 50% rec, 2/2 90% soft. Guess 2/4 is best to play, not that hard, and 5/5 sometimes, can be deep and juicy but the regs will jump on it..

10%10 on the 2/2 is almost unbeatable for the rake, but a very soft game.

buy-ins: 5/5 = 250 - 2500, 2/4 = 150 - 1000, 2/2 = 50 - 150 (Euros)

In ams. Looks like games don't start until 20:00. There is a E100 tournament. Anyone with any idea how late it goes. Morning flight. Seems like a pass this trip.

Confirmed, the 2/2 is indeed unbeatable. Rake kills; it only breeds super nittiness.

Headed to the Netherlands for a week, plan on playing poker 4-5 hours 2 of the nights.

The rake is insane so I'm curious to know which game you would rather play. I will be withdrawing 600 EUR from the ATM total. At 1/3 in the US, I make 11BB/hr but mainly just looking for a good time with this.

2/2 NLHE:
50-150 EUR buyin - will buyin for 150 EUR
Rake 10% up to 10 EUR
Game will be 80-90% tourists / bad regs

2/4 NLHE:
150-1000 EUR buyin - will buyin for 300 EUR
Rake 5% up to 20 EUR
Game will be 50% tourists / 50% regs

I know long term the 2/2 rake is unbeatable but short term with variance anything is possible. Which would you play?

Hi,

I'm going to be traveling through the Netherlands going to a few festivals and wouldn't mind popping into a few casinos on days/nights off.

From a quick google search it seems most poker rooms aren't open for the majority of the day, usually open 8pm - 3am and some aren't open at all other than weekends...

Does anyone have a list of a few i should check out while I'm there?

Also being from Australia, there is no such thing as tipping, is tipping mandatory in the Netherlands ect?

Hi guys, I'm interested to find out the game dynamics from Holland Casino Amsterdam. What's the rate of professional players versus amateur players and if it worth it to play professionally. It would be wonderful a comparation between NLH 2/2, NHL 2/4, NLH 5/5 from Holland Casino and Pokerstars

My experience:

Most players are American, British or Canadian players who suck. Lots of drink or stoned players due to locale.
Need to bring ID to get into Casino.
Rake is extremely high.
Everything costs money even soft drinks.

It's not true that only games run in Amsterdam, although its probably the busiest.

From experience there is also good action in Breda (up to 5/10NL some days) and Venlo (many players from Germany visit, from solid to super weak).

There is not really a tipping culture and soft drinks are free when you visit enough (you get a members card then)

Also right now there is a poker series going on in Utrecht, which generates more cashgames on the side as well.
