Any comps for 3/5?

Would subletting a place in Cyprus for 3-4 months be advisable? 23, single. Looking for good weather/poker/tennis/girls.

The Garden is a great casino to play at the 2/3 BB. Soda and coffee is free but usually people tip a dollar. As stated bottled water is not free. I have played at every casino in LA and believe HG has the best drawings so that is why I play there. When lakers play every jackpot is doubled, they have daily cash drawings that may reach to 10k, and they will start 150k jackpots pretty soon. Any more qestions go ahead and ask. Also, stay away from he $20 and$40 NL buy in tables!

Girls are where you find 'em. Try getting a place near Cypress College or Long Beach State.

Their super jackpot is going to increase to 150k on certain days and hours. However, there is no money added to a players card. They do have a freroll tournament on saturdays with a 10k gurantee, but entry fee is $30(not a true freeroll). Lastly, when lakers play the regular jackpot doubles. At commerce i dont think they have daily cash drawings and dont have the 150k super jackpot right? Also it bugs me that the drop is a mandatory $2 without a flop. At commerce they do add $1 to players card everywhere. Both the Gardens and Commerce are thesame distance to my house. Bottomline, where am I getting moreexpected value? If I am grinding at this lever where do you suggest I play?
should i continue at the garden?

Apparently cash drawings have been back for at least a month so I guess heading to Garden more often.

FWIW didnt play at Commerce much, played at Bike because of their better buy in structure.

I'm a 5/10 reg at HG, and yes i'm familiar with that bad reg Dana, he is a losing to break even 300 play, (that's a 3/5 short stack 60 bb) game at HG. The game is the softest fish infested game in town. If you are at HG, look in the 300 section for a guy that has short hair, wears glasses and loves to wear overly tight small shirts to showoff his muscles. The guy comes across as a total reg, extremely cocky in a wtf , you have nothing to be cocky about kinda way. Berates anyone that god forbid wins a pot from him.

When we see that fish Dana come to our game 5/10 NL, He would buy in for the min$500 50 bb and play like a nit. Needless to say the guy is extremely bad, he does not yesterday basic poker fundamentals i.e bet sizing, spr, straddle when his stack is under 20 bb, just stupid fishy **** like that.

That is the same for 5/10 NL, watch out for a couple that goes by the initial (JJ and KK) their names are Jason katsutani and Jacqueline Jarrot. They are very easy to spot, he is Japanese, like to wear a visor and dark sunglasses.

She white, always wears the same leather hat and black outfit, looks like she in her late 40 with heavy caked on 80's makeup. She clearly had tons of work done to her faces. The dead give away-her huge oversize, obviously fake boobs. Recently they've been dragging around a small Pomeranian dog to the casino with them, poor thing stays in that carrier for hours and hours.

These two are clearly teams playing, all the regs knows about them and tries to avoid them. Several floor-man are alerted to their shenanigans and from what I've heard is building a case against them. If you are at HGC, be on the look out for them. Alone, playing separated they are fish. especially her, she plays a weak tight game, and him, he tries to play LAG, unfortunately this requires good hand reading abilities, which he doesn't have. Among regs, we just call him badagro. aggressive -bad.

Played here the other night in the $3/$5 $300 max NLHE game. As is consistent with the majority of other posts in this thread, the game was very loose and easily 6 of the 9 players at my table were no good. Almost everyone there seemed to be a regular, shouting out dealer names, requesting their favorite cocktail waitress, and the like.

I was on my way back home from a conference so I only played for two hours. One hand that was particularly interesting happened within 20 minutes of sitting down. UTG opened to $20, guy on my immediate right in MP flats, I flat w/ 55, and the rest fold. Flop comes out 5cAdJd, and UTG and player to my right check. I make it $35, UTG folds, other player calls. Turn is 6c. Player checks, I make it $85, he shoves for ~$200 and I call having him covered. He instantly flips up AJ and the river comes a blank.

Hawaiian Gardens is definitely one of the cheapest looking casinos in the LA and OC areas. However, the action in these games makes them very attractive and profitable.

Are you discussing this hand as an exemplar of supposedly-fishy HG 3/5NL play? Seems to me villain played the hand about as well as he could have. He probably put you on Ax or TT.

Is it true that as of last Friday the 100nl is now 100-300 (like the Bike)? Same 2-3 blinds? My buddy went, I've been out of the loop there for a while but he said this is true and they also have altered their jackpots (e.g., made them less...and harder: quads over quads for big one, etc.)

I'm mulling going over there in a few to see what's up, but don't think I can sneak out. If anyone that's been the last few days could confirm it would be appreciated (and welcome, as far as the 100-300 part anyway, the jackpot part sucks as I've been part of 2 :/).

Thanks,
T.

I'm just going to assume it hasn't dawned on you guys to call and ask?

I doubt it though. They'd have to adjust their other levels. I can't see them randomly sticking in a 2/3 100-300 between the 2/3 100 and 2/5 300. I could be wrong though, I haven't been there in a month.

Btw Serio, are you around 5'9 140lbs very short hair and a mustache?

The introduction of the new $300-500 buy-in, 5-5 blinds no-limit game doesn't make much sense. It neither attracts new customers to the casino nor makes current customers any more content. Hawaiian Gardens will lose a fair amount of high limit regulars to Commerce if they don't remove the new 5-5 game or increase the maximum buy-in for the current 5-10 game to $1,500.

In business, you don't become number one and capture the biggest market share by mimicking your competition. You should be innovative, you should stay at least one step ahead of your competitors, and you should pay attention to what your customers want. Hawaiian Gardens' management is apparently quite incompetent in this regard, because they created a game nobody wants and forced it on current regulars, who were already quite content with their games, just to be "more like Commerce."
