i believe that in the later stage or big pots that would be true, but for if a player utg called, and the next player pot the pot, that would be 7 dollars. and the whole table called the 7 dollars..now if everyone starts with 5 dollars chips..it would waste so much time for the dealer to change out..that's my point. I rather use the 1 dollar chip.

The above is probably why they allow you 20 $1s. They didn't say get rid of them all.

if UTG called and the next player bet pot it would be $9.

Anyway, I don't know if it's just not common in my area or what, but I've never seen a 1/2 PLO game played true pot. Preflop betting normally allows the first person entering the pot to call $2, pot to $10(some games consider SB and BB to be counted as one $5 blind so opening pot raise is $15) or the only other acceptable raise would be to $5. After the flop, it's played as a red chip game and all bets have to be in $5 increments. The reason for this is there are a lot of mathematically challenged dealers who can barely figure pots using $5 increments let alone using odd bet amounts.

I guess if you're capping the game at $100 max BI, you'd probably need to have it true pot to make it play a little smaller at least.

Also saying the game is going to turn into a nitfest and a "who gets Aces more" competition is just silly. LA players are notorious for not caring how much or how little money they have, they just want to gamble. It doesn't matter their net worth, if you can get someone to get hooked on PLO they are going to keep coming back all the time.
+1

The game is thriving with 2 tables common from about 5-8pm most days. The dealers are improving and there's plenty of "help" at the table getting the bets right. Besides, it's PLO bring a few buyins and build a stack.

i played in this game last night. the buy in is weird and short, but the small buy in does attract randoms who just sit down to give it a try, which is good.

i won over 9 buy ins in this game last night. predictably, the players are mostly loose passive. when they say "pot" you know they have the nuts and you can play accordingly.

a few of us (the two guys from sweden and me) were blind $5'ing it every UTG, to try to juice up the pot and get people to gamble. i really think limping is terrible in this game as we did have a few $1 and $2 pots after the drop. i pretty much didn't enter a pot without raising.

i think the last table broke about 2am. was anybody in the game last night too?

I was at the table and remember you pot it everytime you're utg which is kindda fun. I left with about 6bi because it became a crap shoot. There was an asian kid who dropped like 10bi in this game and he never had more than 200 in front of him lol.

Hey, what up. U should check out the PLO game we have at oceans 11. 1/2 blinds, $5 to come in, $200-500 buy in. Runs every Friday and some other random times. Kind of in between the sizes of HG's $100 PLO game and the $1000 max game.

currently $100, but the game plays VERY passively , so very easy to build up to $200 quickly, most players really don't know the game yet so expectation is very high right now.

The game is great, and let me re-emphasize, if this game runs and they can keep two table going they will start a 3/3 $300 buy in which will be PERFECT and the only mid limit PLO game in CA that runs in the area.

I tried going down there for this before but it broke at like 11. Granted I went roughly 15 months ago for this when I read it was 2/2 played with $2 and $10 chips.

What are the details on this game?

I don't believe the 2/3 w 5 bring in runs 7 days a week as the player pool is MUCH smaller than HG's

1/2 $5 bring in, $200-$500. and you are correct -- it does not run daily. fridays is the go-to day with other random days in there.
