Will be here Saturday evening. Parents in law get nice, free comps and staying at Harrahs.

Last time I played there I was maybe 30 minutes into a session and involved in a fairly large pot heads up. I think the guy may be bluffing so I say the standard "Will you show if I fold?".

Dealer and entire table are like "whoa, whoa, whoa…you can't talk to your opponent."

Obviously WTF. I say we're heads up - I can't talk? Nope.

I say **** this place and go to Borgata. I should have just gone to Borgata anyways but I was 20 feet away from this room and figured I'd check it out.

This was about two years ago and ever since if we go down with the wife's parents I just go play at Borgata.

I've played in many poker rooms over the years and never been told I can't say a word to an opponent heads up. Curious if anyone else has ever encountered this either at Harrah's or any other room and if anyone knows if they've changed this silly rule since?

Room still is funky. The potential for a fish is better there than the Borgata IMHO. I played there for the 1st time in about two years a month or so ago. Good action. The benefit of Harrah is the $500 buy in vs the $300 at Borgata. More $ on the table. The Golden Nugget isn't a bad option either.

IMHO, the room is dominated during the day by regs who are there simply to earn enough comps for lunch. Nighttime it gets a bit better....

Not sure about the whole "not talking" rule. If this keeps up the poker rooms are gonna look like libraries!

was there this past saturday and played 1/2 super $500 max from 8pm-2am...pretty loose table and a few of us straddled to $4 every orbit so it played bigger than most 1/2's...whether it's allowed or not, there was lots of talking during hands so maybe it was just one dealer that felt it was necessary to enforce what he/she thought was a rule...

as an example of when this sometimes happens, I had my wife sitting behind me (not playing, just watching) bcz she wanted to learn how cash games roll vs tournaments...she's never played cash and I xplnd to the table what was going on beforehand...of course, no one had a problem with this...however, as soon as one dealer took over and saw what she was doing, he for some reason felt the need to tell me that she couldn't look at my cards...I just laughed it off bcz she had been sitting there for a few hours doing just that before the dealer change...plus she was about to leave anyway so I made nothing of it but it just goes to show how some dealers say and do things that others will completely ignore...still had a good time with lots of drinks flowing...

I'll confirm that since I was sitting to your right Capt. If I remember it was you doing most of the straddling. Lol was a good game for sure.

Lol I had a good time as well. Wish I had known there was another 2p2er at the table. I went back at 9 am. Young drunk guy in seat 10 was still there. Made another 2 and went home.

not surprised...he was getting beat up pretty good and I didn't do him any favors when my set of 9s topped his aces...I certainly hope to see him again too...

How do you guys get the free (32 dollar) rooms at Harrah's? I've played there some recently and dont have any offers on the total rewards website? Is there a trick to this or do I just need more play?

I've read that your average session length is very important, so try playing longer sessions.

4 hours of live play = $32 room
5 hours of live play = $15 food voucher

Edit: The above is only valid Sun-Thurs as per Bravo poker app....also Im pretty sure you get all the stuff from the room manager on duty

Also, speaking of rooms and food vouchers..

1) When a room comp is earned, how long does the comp last?
2) Is there a limit to how many rooms that can be earned in a callender year?
3) Is there a limit to how many rooms I can earn in a 24 hour period if I were to split my sessions into say a 4 hour morning and a 4 hour evening?
4) Do food vouchers expire in 24 hours?
5) Can I earn multiple vouchers within that 24 hours if so?

**These questions are directed toward someone who is willing to answer them respectfully & genuinely...if you are thinking of being a haha wiseguy dude, please do not waste your or my time

Thank you in advance

I've never tried to get the free room, but my understanding is that it is a room for the night immediately after you play. And I'm virtually certain you can't get more than one room per day.

As for the food comp, you can use it the day you earn it or any time the next day. You can't earn more than one per gaming day though. But if you played 5 hours on Monday and 5 hours on Tuesday you could use both vouchers on Tuesday.

Heading down for at least some of the WSOP Circuit next week. Will PLO cash games run at all? Does 1-2 to 2-5 PLO run anywhere in Atlantic City regularly? I know Borgata gets 2-5 sometimes, but is that it?

Look on bravo. 2/5 PLO runs pretty much 24/7 Fri through Sunday. Runs pretty much all week though off and on. That's Borgata. Idk about Harrahs though. They'll get 5/10 NLH and lots of 2/5 NLH. You never know what will run at Harrahs during the circuit though. Start the list they will play

true but 5/10 nl at borgata is a god awful game 95 pct of the time so worth checking out if it's running at harrahs

No definitely want to do the 5/10 at Harrahs. Not reg infested like the Borgata is. The PLO was why I referenced Borgata. I used to play at Harrahs all the time (100 hrs a month) and you will see the occasional PLO game go or NL/PLO. Definitely more likely during the circuit events. 5/10 is a given during a circuit. Watched a famous Floridian Pro who just got married and almost won a huge 3 braclet prop bet this summer at the WSOP punt 10K at the 5/10. So yes can be interesting.

They're played at Harrah's, upstairs in the banquet room/event center.
