Can someone who played at Harrah's today, give me an idea of how many 1-2 ad 2-5 tables were going around 2pm? Thanks.

They have 2/4, 3/6, and the 4/8 (half-blind) game.

2/4 pretty much runs 24/7. 3/6 is hit or miss on weekdays, more likely to run nights and weekends. No idea about the 4/8 (half-blind) game. Was never running when I would stay there.

There was 1 2/5 NLHE table running when I got there at around 1:15 pm today (Sunday, January 17). At some point, I'm not sure when, a second table opened, and then a third - but that closed down later on at night. There were still 2 tables (full, with a waiting list) going strong when I left around 10:00 pm.

There were several 1/2 tables the whole time. There always are.

Just looking at old posts. Played in 4-8 Limit game at Harrah's Saturday. Straight 4-8 with a table of regulars. Mini blinds of 1-2 put most players in pre flop. Everyone would fold to a bet on the flop. Not much post flop action. I did get to 3 bet quad fours on the turn, only 3 bet after flop I saw in over eight hrs. of play. Too much socializing made for a very slow game. Would love a mid 5-10 game, have not run one at Taj in months. Have been lucky at 10-20 lately but I am more confortable at 5-10.

Not sure if a poker room manager ever looks at these threads (Stan the Mgr at the Borgata watches them daily), but I wanted to mention the above and beyond service I got today when calling Harrah's and mention that I am playing Harrah's instead of Borgata again this week. Quite a feat since prior to last week, I had not played in ANY room in AC other than the Borgata in four or more years.

I played at Harrah's a week ago for the first time, staying two nights and got the poker room rate having never played there before, simply by showing up at the Podium and speaking with a manager. I preceeded to play about 40 hours over 3 days and played about 15 hours at the Borgata where I stayed one night.

I decided last night to come back on Wed of this week and stay through Monday and play NL again. According to the internet calendar I had 3 of the nights comped (which in itself was amazing since I play no slots or table games EVER) and was hoping to get the Fiday and Sat nights at the poker room rate.

When I went online today, it showed both Sat (I expected to pay $109) and Sun (I expected to have this comped) SOLD OUT. I called the poker room desk and asked if there was anything they could do. The floor who I spoke to (REALLY wish I had gotten his name!!) told me to hang on for a minute while he spoke with someone. I didn't think I had a chance in hell, but the next thing I know he switches me to reservations and they give me Wed (comp), Thurs (comp), Friday ($109 poker room rate), Sat ($109 prr) Sun (comp) and I will leave Monday morning...unless I stay longer.

I guess my point here is: The poker room floor can make things happen even if the computer shows otherwise. If you intend to play at Harrah's CALL the desk and ask if they can help, REGARDLESS of what the internet is showing regarding availability/sold out.

Thank you to the Harrah's Floor guys AGAIN.

I didn't mean to imply that I ran out of comped rooms. I meant to say that the CASINO seemed to have run out of available comped rooms, and also ran out of ANY rooms (regardless of price) on Saturday night.

Speaking with the poker room floor manager who answered the phone, he somehow got them to give me a comped room (which showed as completely SOLD OUT on the internet) for the one night, and got me the poker room rate (which also showed as completely sold out on the internet) for Saturday night.

Sorry for the confusion.

Still in amazement that I get ANY comped rooms at all since all I play is poker. The casino looks busy as hell when I walk through.

I've only played at Harrahs once (wsop circuit) and I just called to reserve thursday-sunday and they gave me thursday comped. To get the poker rate all i have to do is play 5hours on my trip and they will adjust the rate for fri and sat.

Hopefully we can get a 5/10nlh game or a 2/5plo game going at harrahs instead of the borgata....anyone interested? i know there little chance of it happening but my i will defintly start up a list and am willing to play short handed.....

I will play 2-5 plo if you get that going. I will also play 5-10 nl, but I won't play either game shorter than 7 handed, and think we have a better chance of seeing Haley's Comet than we have of seeing a 5-10 nl game at Harrah's with the Borgata Winter Open starting tomorrow.

I would suggest clocking out. Might not get anytime recorded.

Harrah's is one casino where you don't have to clock out. Harrah's clocks people out automatically.

You don't need to clock out at Harrah's. In fact, you can't clock out at Harrah's...you can try and they'll wave you on and tell you that you don't need to.

No system is perfect. You just need to make sure that you are clocked IN, and then if you MOVE, you need to make sure that you are moved on the chart. It is an electronic chart with your name at the seat.

NOW, it is to your ADVANTAGE NOT to try to clock out. Every once in awhile, they mess up and wind up giving you MORE hours as a result. Or, if no one shows up for your seat, they may not clock you out.

This has happened to me. I came back to play, and I was still logged in.

what's the normal buy in for this game?

The minimum buy-in is $40, but clearly that's not enough. Buy in for whatever you want. Certainly a hundred or more gives you more than most at the table - but it's limit poker, who cares so long as you have enough to bet and raise all strees?

30 Tier credits an hour for 1/2, and 60 for 2/5.

It is MOST assuredly, 35 tier credits for one hour of 1/2. It was that number all of last year. I JUST called, to confirm that it is still that for 1/2 nlhe.

Also, according to the web site, that I JUST referenced, ALL Harrahs properties give the same rate.

To end this, hopefully, Last year, I got my Platinum after 312 hours. THIS year, I will ALSO get my platinum after 312 hours.

I did NOT check the rate for 2/5. I suggest you call. I just called the Showboat, since I play there about half the time. I play at Harrahs about 40% of the time, and Bally's and Caesar the rest of the time.

Since I only have played 1/2 to date, and I come up about once a month, or so, I track this closely. I had only about 12 hours left prior to December.

Again, the rate is MOST CERTAINLY 35 tier credits for 1/2. If I am allowed to post the phone number that I just called, I will most certainly do that.

.
Warning to people asking for the poker rate. Makesure the poker room signs off on it. I was told by reservations and the clerk when i checked in that i would get the poker rate. All i had to do was tell them at checkout. Well that was completely wrong. The front desk cannot adjust it afterward. The poker room cannot adjust it afterwards. The front desk manager handled the situation very well and they had me talk to the shift mgr. He didnt handle the situation well and was confrontational over the Phone not letting me explain the situation. I knew nothing was gonna change and i had to pay full price but i dont mind cause thats the cost of gambling but i wasnt very happy w/the way i was spoken to by the shift manager at the poker room Harrahs.

To be honest everything was really great there until my experience w/that shift mgr. i dont think my friends and I are ever gonna play at harrahs AC again. The 2/5 nlh games are nitty and slow. i even tryed to play 1/5 stud to kill time while i wait to be called and that game broke every time within 30mins.
