can someone please tell me how the rake at the 1/2 and 2/5 games are determined. Also, what are the customary amounts to tip the dealer for the various pot sizes?

Rake at all poker rooms in AC for 1/2 is 10% up to $4, plus $1 for the bad beat jackpot for pots that reach $20.

For 2/5, I believe Harrah's takes the same rake as it does @ 1/2, but I'm sure someone else can confirm.

There is no "customary" amount to tip. Tip whatever you feel the dealer's service was worth.

I personally tip $1 for every pot that sees a flop and is over $10. I sometimes tip an extra dollar if the dealer did something extraordinary during the hand (e.g., made a correct correction of a mistake by a player) -or- I take significant extra time to make a difficult decision. If I find a dealer to be exceptional throughout his entire down (usually speed-wise), I sometimes tip $1 when he is leaving the box and thank him for a good down.

I can confirm this. At Harrah's, the rake is the same for 2/5 NLHE as it is for the 1/2 game.

You'll usually see a dollar tipped for just about every pot. For larger pots, say around $100 or so, you'll sometimes see an extra buck or two tipped. For exceptionally large pots, like over $300, players will often tip a red bird ($5).

Curious about this myself; I'll be there most of next week and wondering if there'll be regular 2/5 running or I'll have to go over to Borgata as per usual.

I was thinking about playing the WSOP Circuit Event tomorrow 12/9 ($200+30 NL Event) 2 Quick Questions...

1. Is there late registration for this event?? (11 AM start time) If so how long is late registration?? (2 Levels?!?)

2. I know events take place in the Conference room and was wondering what the lines have been like for registration in the morning. Set up well??

Thanks for the help!!

Internets in hotels should be free IMO

I agree.

"They" are, in ****ty hotels. The good hotels know that you're paying an bunch to stay there anyway, so what's another $10-$25 for "internets" going to be to a high roller like their clientele?

Unfortunately, that policy ignores the reality that many players stay free at casinos despite their sometimes exorbitant regular room rates.

Are the cash games any better? Did the circuit bring more fish along with all the 2+2ers? Or just more 2+2er kinds lol. Either way the games are probably still profitable lol.

Is there a significant difference between the Harbour Deluxe and Marina Luxury rooms?

YES. there is a lot more cash on the table, and the play is not significantly better. i find that winning a chunk of money at harrahs is sometimes like squeezing blood from a rock; but i was there last sunday and monday and fools had decent sized stacks and were willing to put them in play.

it was funny to see the nitty old weekday morning regs mixed in with the rest of the crowd. the whole room was packed by 11am.

Cash games were very good the past few days. 5/5 and 5/10nl have been running regularly and they at least called a 10/25nl last night, not sure if it actually went.

Not really any difference except the Marina rooms are slightly closer to the poker room.
