I usually don't play a ton of live poker in general and of the live I've played in Europe it's mostly been MTTs, but I've probably played 20-25 cash sessions, all in major cities (In USA I've played thousands of hours of live cash over the past 15 years, for perspective) and I cannot remember a single table, during a series or not, that I've played in Europe which was made up of these players (aside from UK players when I've played in london a few times, which is obvious). Please name one European major city where you think the player base is made up of US/UK/Canada/Aus players? Makes no sense to me and I'm pretty sure that can't possibly be true.
To be clear, cities where I've played cash: Madrid, Barcelona (during EPT and also when not EPT), Prague (only during EPT), Rozvadov (during series and not), Cyprus, London, Dublin, Vienna, Bratislava, Belgrade, Monaco (only during EPT), Amsterdam. Maybe another that I'm forgetting but I can't think of any now. And like I said, it's probably like 25 sessions total so I've played in none of these extensively, most of them it's just 1-2 sessions. Oddly enough, I've spent most of the last decade living in Budapest and I've never once played a hand of live poker in Hungary. I always flew back to the US to play live in the past, so agree with the part of your post about high rake, etc, but this player base often being made up of these countries' players is just plain false imo.
Edit: realised I forgot Zagreb.
