Don't drive too fast though because there is always a cop hiding on your right at a driveway. Seen him pull over a couple people on my way there. You'll never feel nervous leaving there at any time during the day or night. Plenty of guards and police presence.
Exit 6 is the exit AFTER 476, make a right off of the exit ramp and you're at Widener University, turn left and you're heading towards the casino.

Not sure when heading south what exit number is BEFORE 476, I don't usually go that way.

Was there last night, they still have a long way to go, doesn't really look any different than several days ago, they're putting in the lighting. No tables yet.

And I forgot to mention in a my post from last weekend, the poker room does have it's own cage.

Any ideas/guesses on what limits/games they're planning to spread ?

MS@PD is $4 with no BBJ drop. So Harrah's Pa. may be $4 rake.
From what I've been told ... the rake (for $1/2NL and limit games) will be ... 10% up to $5 + $1 BBJ ... this is from a very reliable source.

western pa is running $1/$3 NL; are we sure Harrah's is going $1/$2. the news about smoking is good. at this point, i'm leaning toward playing more at del park than harrah's even though i live in delaware county. i am probably 15-20 minutes from harrah's, 35-40 from DP and i'll drive the extra distance to be able to get in my car afterward and not have the cigarette stench drenched all over me. now, if i go the first time or two to harrah's and don't have this problem, that will be a major bonus. also, $1/$2 and not $1/$3 would be a factor as well.

I grew up in South Delco and still work there/commute daily.

From I-95 SOUTH, I recommend these directions:

Take Exit 8, Ridley Park.

At the interchange, you want to go South on Stewart Ave towards Boeing. Take a left at the light.

At the next light, take a right on PA-291 West. (If you are at US-13 instead, you went the wrong way - turn around and try again but don't worry, it's not ghetto there.)

Harrah's Racetrack & Casino is on your left, 2 miles down through industrial areas (i.e. no peoples around so it's safe enough).

From I-476:

Exit 1 - MacDade Blvd. Go right at interchange (WEST).

First light, take a left to Bullens Lane. Get left ASAP after the ramp - it's going to come up fast - or use the Wawa parking lot ahead to do a Jersey left.

FULL STOPS AT THE STOP SIGNS. Don't say you weren't warned.

Go under the highway and down Eddystone Ave. (Reasonably safe area.)

Road will go under RR lines and PA-291. Next street is East 4th St. Take a right.

Follow to Harrah's, 0.5 miles ahead.

I won't ever come from I-95 North so you're on your own for that.

I dont think Harrahs understands how insane that room is going to be.They should have went bigger then 25 tables. This area is Poker central. It will all flow to Harrahs and DparK.
From South Philly to Baltimore the game is on

Anxiously awaiting reports on the rake. Delaware Park and Pocono Downs going $4 + $1BBJ. Will Harrah's follow, or get greedy and go for $5 as rumored here?

This will certainly decide where my play goes, as DP is slightly closer to me anyway.

I get that feeling too. Like, Philly is the SoCal of the east without any of the supply.

Most of the poker rooms in this area (meaning NJ and DE) spread any games and limits that the patrons want as long as they are consistant with the regulations set by the state.

Using Occam's Razor alone, it makes sense to assume the same for Harrah's and other PA rooms when they open up.

The real questions then are what games will the PGCB allow or disallow (In looking through the 700+ pages, can anyone figure that out?) - New Jersey cannot have lowball games so Razz is out there but it runs in the HORSE rotation in Delaware.

Once you get past that, the issue then is will the patrons really be that different from the rest of the area (actually, the rest of the country) that plays almost exclusively 1/2 NL and 2/4 or 3/6 LHE?

Delaware Park has staffers who like to run atypical games. Despite having a waiting list of over 100 people most of the night on Friday for 1/2, they still had a 3/6 HORSE and 1/2 PLO running but everything else was Hold 'Em and unless thosewho like different games show up in sufficient numbers, any room will have to spread low limit Hold 'Em because how long will casinos that turn away hundreds of customers a weekend night stay in business?

None of this post comes from inside knowledge. It's all common sense.

listen to some of the nightmares at Delaware Park - 3 hour wait and people still aren't on a table. meanwhile, rows of slot machines are empty. knock em down, add more poker tables. i'm guessing they could have a 50-table room at harrah's and it wouldn't be big enough.

The good thing about next week is that while today i'm sitting on couch doing nothing, next week ill be sitting in the room at chester playing some cards. The nightmares about 3 hour waits are prime time when people are hitting the rooms.

I second those remarks on smoking & 1/2... Two nights ago at DP, we took an informal poll at a 1/2 table. 7/10 did not smoke & 2 of the smokers said they would not smoke at a poker table. There was just one guy who felt it was his right to be able to smoke whenever/whereever he wanted. So, we exercised our rights as well that night and felted him about two hours later.

Southeast PA has testing on the 16th and opens full time if passed on the 18th.

And echo the nonsmoking wishes.

I would take a completely uninformed guess that there is a 0% of Harrah's having smoking in the poker room.
